Hi sadly my second time coming to this shop but, like last time everything went great. My 2012 toyota yaris hatchback had a fender bender and back passenger side was dented below the gas tank. Fernando was super helpful and in explaining everything to me & my sister. Car looks great and thebl were able to get the dent out my back bumper not related to the accident. Hopefully the next time I go back it'll be for new paint! Definitely recommend. read more

Hard to recover after a bad first impression... I setup an appointment online to take my car in for an estimate. I arrived early and parked in the service driveway. No one came to greet me. When a worked came out from the back and instructed that I needed to go into the office... mind you, everyone in the office could see me in the service driveway! I go inside to see 8 people staring at me, like I stole something. I explained I was there for an appointment and was asked to fill in more forms. I was told that I needed to make the claim first then come back to them. I let ALL 8 of them know it would have been nice to know that before heading in. Not sure what was going on... I'm a retired business person driving an 80K car, but was treated like less than. Hard to evaluate the value proposition when they cannot even treated with kindness and respect. I still need my car repaired, but I'll steer clear of this outfit. read more

I would never advise any one to go here. personal belongings were stolen out of my car while under their care and then the employees tried to convince me that they weren't in there in the first place. So sketchy! I had photos to prove they were in my car but because the items were not high ticket the company basically told me to go fuck myself, I've been going here for over a decade and will never return. The woman then proceeded to just stare at me dumbfounded. She didn't know what to do next. Send someone out to look at the car? Reschedule the appointment? Nothing. Just sat there. Several weeks ago, someone crashed into my car. I looked for different shops online to schedule an appointment to get an estimate to get it fixed. Almost every shop I called was booked out at least two weeks (just to get an estimate,) some, even longer. (It's already a stressful situation having a damaged car, but the delay just added to that stress.) Since G & C was near me, and everyone was scheduling out weeks ahead, I decided to schedule an appointment to get an estimate from G & C Autobody. The woman I spoke to confirmed an appointment for today at 9am. I show up for my appointment and they said that I wasnt on their estimate list and that they couldnt help me. Maybe they forgot to write my appointment down, or something came up, I dont know. I just know I waited two weeks to get this appointment and they werent able to help me. read more

I never had allergies... Until I went in their office. I checked in (person at the desk was a bit annoyed to have to actually pay attention to a customer). I sat down to wait for my appointment. The smell of air freshener was so strong it was smothering. I actually felt my throat getting sore. I had to leave. Hours later that smell was still in my clothes. My side mirror was torn off while it was parked. Gave G&C a call. They said to bring it in for an estimate. They looked at it got my VIN #, took my name and number. Said they would look for the part and get back to me with an estimate. I foolishly waited a week and finally called them back. Explained what happened and the person who answered put me on hold for a long time. Finally came back on the line and said the manager would call me back. Guess what, no return call. I took my car somewhere else and it was fixed in a few hours time. They clearly lack communication skills. I would not recommend wasting your time here. Got into an accident and my front bumper was a mess. Insurance recommended this place and it was a great choice. I was greeted by Christian and felt really welcomed and at ease. He went through all of my questions and assured me that my car will be taken care of. In addition to that, he went above and beyond to get me a rental car very last minute. This was the most awful experience in my life. They started repairs on my car without all of the parts and then kept it for 15 months because they couldn't get the part. Literally stole my car for 15 months. Additionally they misreported the mileage at drop off and created a paperwork nightmare when I needed to sell it once they finally gave it back to me. For the 15 months that they had my car, they reached out only twice to tell me what was going on. This place sucks!! read more

If I had an option to post 0 stars I would. Place is unreliable, they never tell you the truth about when your vehicle is done and postpone deadlines from one week to next. My car was stuck in their shop for two months, it was exhausting to find patience for their endless excuses...There are plenty of other body shops that actually do good work on time. read more

My insurance company sent me here to fix my 1986 4Runner that got rear-ended. Minor damage: bent rear bumper and exhaust came unattached. After getting an estimate - and approval from my insurance - I called to make an appointment only to be told my vehicle is "unrepairable" because the parts are no longer available. For a body shop to say they can't/won't fix a minor thing like that? After giving me an estimate and getting approval from the insurance company? Come on. Every vehicle is repairable. Do not take your car to this shop. If you are not satisfied with their work product, they will blame you for it and will not take responsibility for your dissatisfaction. When I took the car back for a follow-up, they essentially called me a liar and told me to start a new claim if I wanted them to fix a couple scratches that they created. Since then I've call on 3 separate occasions to get any status just to be told by front desk that the person handling my case would call me back for an update. Came here per recommendation from USAA as an affiliated body shop. The staff is all incredibly kind and patient with questions, which I very much appreciated. I had some front bodywork done post-collision and got my car back all shiny, like it never happened. I also had an unrelated, sizeable roof dent that I had previous estimates for (from other shops), all who gave me less than confident assurances of success. G&C gave me a better price, welded my roof and repainted it, and it is seriously as if it never happened. Everything turned out perfectly, and I'm so glad to have my car back to like-new condition! My driver side mirror was ripped off by a passing truck while it was parked on the side of the road. Sean from G&C Auto Body in Oakland took care of everything despite numerous staffing and supply chain challenges at G&C thanks to COVID (this was during the Omicron surge--eek!). These issues obviously not the shop's fault, but Sean kept a positive attitude throughout and expertly navigated the situation with utmost professionalism and composure. I walked away with a mirror (original factory parts, not some yucky refurb) that was good as new and with no out of pocket costs because, bonus, Sean took all of the hassle out of dealing with the other driver's insurance, too. My auto insurance recommended that I take my car here after a minor accident. After I got the estimate and gave them my car for repair, the shop ended up taking 3 days longer than they had told me they would because "the paint guy keeps his own schedule." Then, they told me that there was actually more damage than they had realized and that they would actually need to order more parts and do more repairs. Then, after I had the car all repaired and back home, they told me I had to bring the car back in because they had not finished assessing it. Then, they told me that they could not reach my insurance and threatened to take me to small claims court if I didn't pay my deductible-- even though my insurance had said from the beginning that the deductible would be waived because the other party in the accident was at fault. I was able to solve the deductible issue by making a 5-minute phone call to my insurance company. The repair work and paint job on my car were fine, but this was such a frustrating and overly drawn-out experience. The small claims court threat was not appreciated. Never will I take my car here again. read more

My insurance recommended this company. They also repaired a deep gouge on the right fender of my classic '95 Honda Civic SI. I had a few scratches on my car that I wanted an estimate on. Jason took a look at my car and was able to spot the touch ups that the dealer and assess the best approach for making my car look new. He mentioned that the scratches were pretty superficial and they could most likely be buffed out. He grabbed some compound and almost instantly made it 90% better. Rather than a 4-figure paint job he recommended finding a good auto detailer to make the paint correction and make the rest of the car look great. read more

My car needed the taillight replace and they did a great job. I definitely recommend this place despite knowing now they don't do repairs they still took time to replace my taillight.
