I love Jamaican food and I have been there on more than one occasion. The first time I visited, I had the curry goat which was excellent! :) Their curry goat was fresh, extremely tender, well seasoned full of flavor with a nice side of delicious cabbage and rices & peas. Another time I went there, I had curry goat again and it wasn't as fresh possibly sitting out for a really long time, only got a small portion, super oily, and didn't taste good. Another time I had their oxtails which was very good but not the best Jamaican oxtails I have had. I got very little portion of small oxtails (couple scoops full) and it cost me about $20 but I also ordered it with a side of cabbage and rice & peas. I have gone to some better Jamaican spots in nearby Chicago and Milwaukee and they give a-lot more better larger portion size of larger oxtails that tasted better with the sides also for about the same price. Oxtails are very expensive in general to purchase but I felt like I didn't really get much for the price in comparison to some other a Jamaican restaurants I have been to recently. However, their Jamaican cabbage is amazing absolutely delicious!!! Originally, I gave Taste of Jamaica five stars because when I first visited, their food was fresh, excellent, and the portion sizes were pretty good but I have gone more than once since then, and they are not always consistent in the quality & execution of their food so I had to change my review. There isn't a-lot of competition for Jamaican cuisine in Madison, WI so I feel if there was, they would step up their game a lot more. They are still absolutely a-lot better than David's Jamaican cuisine in Madison. I hope they continue to deliver better consistency with their food!!!

Instantly I saw Jamaican food from the Grateful Melt and I couldn't resist trying it out. I ordered the oxtails, rice and beans, potato salad, and sweet plantains - and I must say, I was thoroughly satisfied. The oxtails stole the show, as they fell off the bone with an explosion of flavor that left me craving more, and they were so tender. The rice and beans offered a delightful taste, the potaote salad packed a punch, and the plantains were simply perfect. Ordering was quick and hassle-free, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Being that it is in the food court, it has a decent amount of free parking available in its private lot. I ordered the bacon grilled cheese sandwich called the Ferrari with a side of fries. I got some corn dog nuggets, macaroni & cheese and a hotdog, which cam e with a couple of grapes for the littles. It took about 30 minutes for us to get our food. There were many seating options at the Shed including a converted bus, VW vans, and balcony seating and regular tables indoors. There is also picnic tables with umbrellas and converted truck beds on the nice outdoor patio. It was a nice day so we ate outdoors by the corn hole boards and connect four game. The food was ok. My sandwich was too heavy on the chipotle mayo. It overpowered the sandwich flavor. The macaroni looked and tasted like it was microwaved and the hot dog was just average. You get about 5 or 6 grapes with the kid's meals, so don't expect much. The venue and atmosphere made our experience, even in the face of the blah food. I am not sure if any of the other food trucks in there have better food, but it is sure worth finding out.
