This place breeds positivity. Aloisio Silva also participated in tournaments/completion which gives you the option to scratch that competitive itch without making it mandatory for the students. My daughter isn't old enough to participate in the kids courses, but I often will see the kids Bjj classes end before the adult ones begin. It looks like a safe and fun environment. What I like about his teaching style is that he will teach positionally, i.e. he will go over the options from a given position, and then transition into letting students get a feel for what option is "correct." The thought of starting BJJ overweight and with no cardio seemed very intimidating. Picking the right gym was essential. What sets 413 apart is Pedro Rocha. He's a world class fighter with many titles, belts, awards etc. Super impressive dude and worth a google! Once the hubs tried the free intro class- he was hooked!
