Nathan is an excellent coach. Everyone one is humble and Sloth BJJ has a very welcoming atmosphere. If you want to try Jiu jitsu, this is a fun and safe place to give it a go

I have been at Sloth for a number of years, both myself and my kids. I could not recommend more.

My husband had been wanting to try jiu jitsu for years. He researched places around and decided on…read more413. Six months later- he's down 45lbs and loving it! The thought of starting BJJ overweight and with no cardio seemed very intimidating. Picking the right gym was essential. What sets 413 apart is Pedro Rocha. He's a world class fighter with many titles, belts, awards etc. Super impressive dude and worth a google! Once the hubs tried the free intro class- he was hooked! Pedro and the other professors made him feel comfortable. They were all patient, classmates were eager to help and everyone was understanding. The gym is the perfect size. Classes are not too big and not too small so you get plenty of coaching. Treatment at 413 is a testament to Pedro. When you join 413 you join a family. Everyone helps everyone. You can trust that you are not going to get hurt. You can ease into it at your own pace. There is no pressure to compete but if you choose to- you could not ask for a better coach. I have attended one of their free women's self defense classes. It was awesome and a lot of fun!!! !!!ALSO SHOULD PROBABLY WARN YOU!!! Your loved one WILL talk/ watch/eat/breathe/dream/obsess all things jiu jitsu. Don't fight it. Just go with it. it's only a matter of time before you're drinking the jiu jitsu koolaid too.

The students (men/women) are all genuinely good people who are there to learn and help each other. 413 is a well organized business and always clean. Stephane (Pedro's wife) is also an integral part of the gym's operations, which makes this a local, family owned business. Make no mistake, there are some tough, and skilled, people training at 413...so, you will be challenged. I couldn't be happier with my decision to learn and train at 413!

Great instructors, my daughter went here for a short time before we had moved, and had enjoyed her…read moretime as well, but their administrative side of things need a huge overhaul. They claimed that I owed them $79 or something for services, but in fact I don't owe them anything because I had notified Katie via text way before the December 2017 billing cycle(in November 2017) that my daughter and I were to be relocating, and she won't be attending class anymore. I didn't get a response from Katie, so I had assumed that she had got my message, and all was well. A month or two later I received a bill stating that I owe these people? Nope. Katie gave me 1 month free back in or around October 2017 give or take because for some reason their automated system had failed to withdrawal my monthly payment from my bankcard on the scheduled due date. Since then I've called and texted Katie directly a couple of times with no response back from her, and I've even called the office and left a couple of messages about this situation as well with no call back. I won't let this company tank my credit score just in case if this small debt that I'm not claiming goes to a collection agency, all because I had notified Katie in writing way before the next billing cycle about our move, and my daughter to stop attending classes for that reason. I'm not sure if I'm the only one that has this issue with trying to reach one of their staff members by text or phone, but my advice is to stay way on top of your game (administrative-wise) when dealing with these people since that's how they do business. SMH

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!…read more My kids attended classes here for over a year. Right off the bat, I was not very impressed with the technical side of their instructions as it was not very organized. Lesson plan seemed to be pretty much whatever the instructors were in the mood for that particular day. But, my kids were enjoying themselves, learning some decent skills and conditioning, and they liked the instructors on a personal level, as did I, so we continued to attend and we had fun with Katie and Master Thomas while we were with them. In the course of a year, this business moved 3 times. We thought that was odd, but alright, things happen. On the last time they had to vacate their current building, we were told they would let us know as soon as they got moved into the new building, and where it was located, so we could resume lessons. NOPE! That was the last we ever heard from them. They flat out disappeared. However, they did continue to charge us $155.00 a month for almost a year afterwards! We went through HELL trying to get the payments shut off, but with ZERO answer to phone calls, emails, text message, or ANYTHING ELSE, were not able to do anything about it. Oh! And the billing company they use???? EVEN WORSE! These people walked away, never looked back, then flat out ROBBED us, and many other families, for over $1500 dollars, and never even gave it a second thought. UNBELIEVABLE! In the end, we had to CANCEL the account we used with them to end the payments. Oh! And after that, the third party company had no problem calling us all the time, but ONLY to seek payment for the charges that weren't going through anymore!!!! They STILL had ZERO interest in helping us to solve the problem! It was AFTER we initiated legal action against them and Thomas Academy did they finally agree to close our account! Wow. Just wow. Personally, I will NEVER do business with this company, or any company even affiliated with it ever again, and I will continue to warn as many folks as I can to do the same so that no one else has to go through the absolute nightmare that we have. Very sad the way these folks treat their "customers", but my heart truly breaks for their "students"......
