He is an amazing instructor that works with students on all levels from beginners, to intermediates, and to advanced belts. He has taught Tae Kwon Do, Women's self Defense, and Co-ed self defense at the University of Texas at Arlington for 25 years and runs his own school. He has won over 100 trophies, medals, and 35 Grand Champion trophies. There are classes available 6 days week to help meet anyone's busy schedule. His teaching style is very nurturing, yet firm. If you have a choice, then don't sign up here. My cousin had the misfortune of signing up here and paid a hefty and expensive price. The instructor has his favorites and the place is also dark, musty and horrible bathroom facilities. It's always smelling damp. The lights are so blurry! It's kind of switch and bait and there's so many belts in the younger kids that it's more like a money making machine. The instructor himself isn't so great. He's stuck in the same old same old - nothing new. The other people who say nice things about him on yelp are his black belt instructors which is a joke cos they have to say nice things. Read the negative comments - those are real people! His contract with UTA was also cancelled and that speaks volumes as to why he has nothing nice to say about the UTA program! read more

I've known Master Johnson for many many years (since before he was a master). He has an excellent teaching style and runs a great school where he promotes self defense over sport. He is always striving to improve how he teaches so his students can be the best martial artists around. The family atmosphere is great and there are plenty of adults to train with. It's not a belt factory and it's not just for kids. Terrible experience. Family operated business that is primary focused on only getting money. Classes are ridiculously short & you do not get what you pay for. They sometimes cut classes short due to another class running over time & will not compensate you for the time. Severley over priced & customer service is terrible. Don't bother ordering anything because you'll never get your item. This place has no organization or consistency. Not to mention the rude service you get for speaking up about their ill practices. They say they're family focused but really its a cheap parlor trick to get you in the door & in your pocket. They also will try to lock you into a contract and have no regard for any type of compenstaion besides giving you the finger in a passive agressive way when you try or need to break the contract for legitimate reasons. Not flexible. Such a scam. I want my money back!!! Would give zero stars. read more
