Delicious and fluffy pancakes. I also tasted the mango one, not pictured here and it was good but the mango was bitter. Price is a bit high but worth a try!

Easy to find via Google Maps. Lots of street parking if you tour the block. Lots of seating. Place was 40% full Friday at 6PM. Lots of staff behind the counter but one can out during the meal and asked how the meal was which was really kind. Self-serve water and utensils made it easy and less fuss. Lots of cool lattes as well. We tried the Raspberry Caramelized Banana for $16. Presentation is very nice. Could be enough for 1 person but no protein so better to share. Caramelized banana was 12/10 delicious. Pancake was a little uncooked for my liking. Which I understand as they are sooo fluffy. Toppings were fine.

My husband and I finally tried these pancakes. I've been seeing these mouth watering pictures of their fluffy pancakes all over social media. I'm happy we found an opportunity to drop by and give this place a try. There are many sweet and fruity pancake options here. The eye catching menu photos are very well done and definitely contributed to my analysis paralysis in deciding what to eat. Everything looks so good. We decided to one savoury and one sweet pancake. First we tasted the savoury Sunrise Salmon Soufflé with two soufflé pancakes, smoked salmon, poached egg, hollandaise sauce and a side salad. The presentation was well done. We took a bite of the pancake and immediately loved the fluffy, airy, melt in your mouth sweetness of the pancake. Paired with the smoked salmon this combo was refreshingly different. A match made in pancake heaven. We inhaled the dish in minutes. I actually contemplated ordering a second plate of it because I enjoyed it so much. Next we tried the Fuwa Fuwa Signature pancake. This was a sweet option with whipped cream, strawberry, blueberries and banana. The usual toppings you would put on a pancake. To my surprise, I enjoyed the savoury dish more. I appreciated the contrast between the sweet pancake and the smoky flavour of the salmon. In comparison the signature pancakes seemed too sweet and sadly anticlimactic after the first dish. For a beverages the Nutella Hazelnut Latte tasted literally like plain chocolate milk. Nothing special or exciting. Kinda disappointing. There were so many other adventurous options that I'm surprised I chose such a plain and boring drink. Next time I will try a fancy lemonade or special fruity drink. Overall, I had a pretty good first experience here. I would love to see more savoury options on the menu. The service was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean, bright and trendy looking. They had plenty of seating. We came at a quiet time during the day so we had the place to ourselves. They also have board games available for people to play. There is also an upstairs seating area. This would be a fun place to hang out and spend time with others. I would love to come back and try other menu items.

I love pancakes and when I heard about this place I have been so eager to go and check it out. The flavors all sound incredible, it's difficult to choose one! But when we went we settled on the feature which was a raspberry and caramelized banana one: presentation was spectacular! And it did taste sensational, very fluffy cakes and the banana was caramelized perfect and had a crunchy toasted side. But ... the portions are small! Much smaller than I expected. For $17 this wasn't enough to satisfy one person, definitely feels a little over priced in my opinion. I can speculate and say that it's perhaps because of location being near Whyte Ave and cost of everything these days but still slightly disappointing. Service was alright, they had a lot of staff working behind the counter but they didn't really engage with us and the food still took a fair amount of time to come out with one order. I did like seeing board games available to play. Plenty of seating but we were encouraged to stay on the main floor.

Matcha & red bean pancakes, to go

I was recommended this place by someone on Mastodon. After a failed first attempt to order via Skip the Dishes which ended up in the Skip driver apparently going AWOL with my dinner, which never arrived... I eventually tried again and picked it up myself in person. Unique pancakes, I've never had any like this before. They're sort of a cross between a pancake and a souffle; super thick but very light like a souffle. I tried the matcha and red bean and it came nicely packed in a biodegradable box with match whipped cream and red bean paste in separate containers. I don't know if I particularly prefer this style of pancakes to a more traditional North American style, but it was certainly worth trying and the selection or toppings was fun. Would recommend giving them a try!

I've been to Fuwa Fuwa twice thus far. I'm impressed by the large, bright space and friendly service. The first time was earlier in the summer when I decided to try an iced coffee drink from here instead of one of my usual haunts. It was a salted caramel iced latte and I found it somewhat lacking in the salted caramel department (though otherwise delicious) which was disappointing given the drink's price tag of over $7 with the tip. This past weekend I finally had the chance to try the fluffy pancakes for which Fuwa Fuwa is known. I tried the basic pancakes which came with a mountain of whipped cream, a ball of butter, and small container of syrup. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and tasted great, with the whipped cream and syrup complementing the flavours. My only criticism is the portion size - this struck me as being more a dessert than a light lunch or brunch. With my Americano (which hit the spot) and the tip, this came to over $20.

Crème brûlée pancake from the Fuwa Fuwa on Whyte with less custard topping

I've gone here twice since they opened in Edmonton. Once during their soft opening and then a second time after they had their grand opening. The location is quite large with two floors of seating available. To start these pancakes are made to order, from scratch and typically take 20 minutes to make per order. However, if there are others waiting for their order before you be prepared to wait much longer. If there's absolutely no one else there then you can expect your pancakes to be ready in 20 minutes. The first time we went during soft opening it took us 50 minutes from waiting in line to getting our pancakes at our table ready to eat. Unfortunately, the second time we went we waited closer to an hour and a half. This is definitely not the place to go if you're starving or really hungry and especially not if you're in a rush or have appointments to make!! The pancakes are super fluffy and moist, and they definitely do jiggle! If you've never tried a souffle pancake before, I highly recommend giving Fuwa Fuwa a try as they're quite different from your typical pancakes. The pancakes typically range from $12-$16 for two pancakes and some toppings, while drinks are around the $5-$7 range. The drinks only have one size. Service wise we've always had great service from the staff, the managers are always around and are constantly communicating how long the wait for pancakes could be. In terms of the pancakes themselves, we noticed that the second time we came around the Crème Brûlée pancake we ordered had very little custard topping and just a small amount of burnt sugar compared to other people, despite the hour and a half wait. This was a bit disappointing as crème brûlée is actually my favourite flavour from Fuwa Fuwa, and we've tried it from the location in Calgary before. I really want this business to succeed as I've missed having soufflé pancakes from Japan, and I hope they can get their groove when it comes to making the pancakes consistently! In the mean time if you find the wait is a bit too long maybe give them a try after the hype dies down a bit!

We came here as a large family group for my niece's birthday. It was great that they had an upstairs area for a larger group that we had to ourselves. All of our pancake creations were incredibly delicious. All lattes and coffee drinks too. These do take a long time to make so ensure you have a lot of time when visiting. Would be nice for breakfast, brunch or a treat.

Ice-cream are melting, the pager didn't work, we wait for a long time nobody tell us this pager did not work, and finally get this:( The menu picture are not similar to what they did..

Not working but hanging in the food prep area chatting, stretching and not wearing mask...for the whole half hour!

I went in a few weeks ago, and had an omelette in the "Sportsman's Lounge" and found it quite good. With this in my mind, I decided to break fast on a recent Sunday, and chose the main restaurant. It was a little disconcerting to go in at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and find the place completely empty. A server came out and reassured me the "lunch rush" had just ended, and that they were still open. I was seated, given a menu and ordered coffee. The menu is not as full as it was in my former days here, but there were a good number of breakfast options, which was why I was here. Having perused the menu, I opted for the "Southwest Breakfast Wrap," which stuck my fancy. The food took about 30 minutes to appear, which surprised me, as I was the only patron in the restaurant. There was just the one server, and her appearances were sporadic, at best. When the wrap landed it looked pretty good, but I have to say... the only way this could be described as "Southwest" was if it was prepared in the southwest corner of the kitchen. When I think "Southwest," I think of piquante dishes, with spice and Mexican flavours. This wrap was entirely devoid of seasoning, and the salsa was from a jar, with no spark what so ever. They were kind enough to provide an extra ramkin of the salsa which went untouched. The ketchup had more flavour and heat. On the plus side, the potatoes were quite tasty, and the coffee was decent. Restaurant - 3/5 Dated decor and a little creepy when dead empty. Food - 2/5 The flavour profile of a cafeteria in a senior's home. Service - 3.5/5 The server was pleasant, when I actually saw her. I am not sure when I may return, as there are so many better options.

The walls and ceiling are covered in memorabilia, concert banners and what not. The place was absolutely hopping at 12:45 PM, but we were sat in a booth right away. Waters dropped moments later, asked if we needed coffee, tea or whatever else you wanted to drink. Our server was fantastic, explaining and educating us as we were first timers. The food came out piping hot very quickly and our tea ordered after the food was dropped came in a large teapot and hot just like at home. The clubhouse, which I did not have, has house made ham and turkey according to our server. My corn beef had slices of corn beef that did not taste house made, but the sheer volume of meat I couldn't finish, the eggs were cooked perfectly. K's Mexicasa omelette was excellent with the Mexican meat the star. I know why the place is consistently full, it's that good. Definite redo when back in West Edmonton
