This is the margarita pizza! And what a lovely presentation!

The margarita pizza was fabulous! The base for the pizza is sour dough! We also had a ham and cheese on a croissant and it was very, very good! All fresh and delicious! The chocolate eclair is one of the best ever! The service was good and the staff super friendly! Don't miss this place!

Ambiance is really good, the interior is very cute & vibey. The staff was friendly but the way they handed the drinks was confusing to customers, someone almost picked up my coffee. The coffee is pretty good, I'd give it a 4.5 My friend had the fresh orange juice and it was pretty watered down

Turkey and Swiss Panino for $12.00 in 2022.

This was my first visit to AYCO. We ordered brewed coffees and sandwiches. Mine was a Turkey and Swiss Panino for $12.00. There was very little cheese in it. It was a bit too crunchy for me but it tasted okay. One of my my guests ordered a ham and cheese croissant and she really enjoyed it it was a bargain at $5.00. My other guest had the smoked salmon and she enjoyed that sandwich as well. I really enjoyed the coffee. Not too strong, not too light, it was just right. The service was quite pleasant. The choices of sandwiches are limited but pastries are plentiful. If you are looking for a muffin or Danish you'll have lots to choose from. There's are lots of tables but most are designed for one or two people. For three or more people there are three or four tables. There's a large raised patio in the front of the café that is well separated from the sidewalk so it would be really nice in the summer. There are two unisex washrooms that were very nice, definitely above standard. I would prefer more selections of sandwiches myself but perhaps it was just timing because we were here at 10:00 am so it's after breakfast but too early for lunch. There were some empty spots under the counter and she said there are more coming. That's probably a good thing because it means that sandwiches are made in small quantities so that they are fresh when served. If you are looking for a place for coffee, lunch or even to catch up on some work on your laptop, you'll probably enjoy AYCO on Jasper Ave downtown.

Entrance is a little tricky to find if you don't have Google maps. Parking is a nightmare and costs a small fortune. Contruction in the area prevented me from being able to park right in front of the cafe. Lots of selection fora Thursday at 2PM. Cafe was 25% full. Lots of very comfortable tables with cute decor great for a coffee date and great place to hang out. Cashier was super friendly and did not make me feel rushed ordering or while I ate. 2 single-use gender neutral bathrooms in the back. I tried the Mango Creme Puff based on the cashiers recommendation. I was torn between that and the Mango Donut and Cruffin. Mango Creme Puff was not as good as I hoped. The choux (dough) was perfect, great flavor, great texture. The filling was a little gritty for my liking. There was a Lot of filling - very generous. 5/10. Overall my dessert choice wasn't great, but the atmosphere and other food choices are really appealing and I think I would come back if I am ever in the area.

Great selection of pastries including croissants, breakfast sandwiches, donuts, frontis, cinnamon rolls, empanadas and danishes. Service on a weekday mid morning was from one lone server who took orders and prepared the drinks/foods so it was a touch slow albeit friendly. Three different seating areas throughout the small cafe. They also do lots of catering from what I saw people come in for. Had an oat milk London Fog which was nothing particularly special. Take note the 15 cent bag charge includes the little paper bag any pastries go into so unless you want it wrapped in napkins perhaps consider bringing your own container.

Wow, who knew this place was so large inside? This whole place is delightful, from the decor that ranges from white bright to darker as you make your way to the back, with the upper back seating area having honestly a bit of the Peppermill lounge ambiance. I am not kidding! Visited with friends and ordered a flat white. Sometimes I wish these were served a little hotter, especially in a glass cup which loses heat quickly, and this applied here, but I managed to drink most of it while it was at least warm. I didn't know that the place serves a full patisserie selection, so I ate beforehand, but on my next visit will arrive hungry. There was a mix of traditional pastries, like croissants and pain chocolat, along with trendy "cruffins" (which I still found enticing because they included selections with custard and pastry cream) and the variations on the croissant that seem very popular now -- flat croissants and the cubic ones caught my eye. My friend bought me a flat croissant to take home and I shared it with my son. it was kind of like a pastry cookie with toppings. Would always prefer a regular croissant, I think, but I can never really complain about pastry cream, puff pastry, whipped cream, or chocolate. Service was a real highlight, with the drinks being brought to our table after ordering/paying, and then cleared away after use. We did not feel rushed along. A very hospitable experience, and all three of us will be returning.

Very Instagram-worthy cafe that opened downtown! Lots of seating inside and a wide variety of bakery items. I tried their Feta & Spinach croissant and their salted caramel cruffin. The croissant was warmed up which was nice and tasted decent. The cruffin had a croissant texture on the outside and it was filled with cream. It was a bit too creamy for me but it was not bad. It definitely a cute cafe to stop by if you're in the area!

A must visit cafe in YEG. they have a nice variety ranging from different baked goods to drinks and even lunch items! Definitely a cute place to visit as well! * Iced hot chocolate ~ this is delicious, the iced chocolate was creamy, and good. The whipped cream complimented the chocolate well. 9/10. * Iced chai latte ~ nice flavour with lots of Cinnamon, it's creamy, and fragrant. Not too sweet and overall good pairing with the sweet donuts. 8/10. * Smoked salmon croissant sandwich ~ this was my favourite item. It was flakey and savoury with some sweetness. The smoked salmon was delicious with the spinach and dill cream cheese filling and the sweet and savoury croissant was such a good combination. 9.5/10. * Suprem Matcha strawberry croissant ~ this was good. I liked the matcha cream and strawberry flavouring. It was a good and I liked the croissant donut it was nice and buttery 8.5/10 * Suprem hazelnut croissant~ the chocolate hazelnut was so good. The cream was super sweet and thick, reminds of of a sweet strawberry candy. The donut was good the cream just a bit sweeter than expected. 5/10. * Pistachio cruffin ~ this was super delicious that yummy cream was stuffed well in the pastry and it was buttery, sweet and creamy! 8.5/10.

There's also an upstairs so I assume that more tables are up there. To start you queue up at the counter and pick your meat and put it bun. The sandwiches were delicious. The amount was just right. The bun is not huge so you won't be stuffed with bread. It can get messy because there's more fillings than bun but don't worry because there are three washrooms to wash your sticky fingers. Seriously I haven't enjoyed a new place in Edmonton this much in a long time. As for the location... Well eventually it might be okay. It's fine during the day. I highly recommend Patricia Street.

Surprisingly they were quite delightful and aren't too expensive. I went around 12:30pm on a Wednesday and it was quite busy. The line went by quick. I tried the Holiday Turkey and my partner tried their Original 1762. The Holiday Turkey literally tasted like a holiday turkey in stuffing within cranberry sauce. I was pretty satisfied with how spot on the taste was and it made me feel like I was eating a Christmas meal. My partner enjoyed his Original 1762 roast beef sandwich. Both sandwiches were flavourful and warm. They give you an option to choose between whole wheat and white bread. We got the combo so it came with soup and a soft drink as well. They gave us an empty cup for the soft drinks and it was self serve at the counter. The chicken noodle soup was well made also. Overall I definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't. The sandwiches were filling and worth the value.

PALS!!! I have been a huge fan since their opening day in 2022 and it's about time that I finally…read morewrite about them! Part of the venerable Strathcona restaurant monopoly of The Next Act (the OG), Meat (the meaty one), Pip (the brunchy one), and Marlo (the taco one), Pals holds their own as the sandwich one. This five-restaurant stronghold wouldn't work if each and every one of them wasn't so dang good. But they are. Pals showed up on the scene after Pip moved across the street and there was enough room in the building to fit a delightful little sandwich shop in there as well. Pals to the left and Pip to the right - and one (beautiful) shared washroom downstairs for both. It's a pretty harmonious arrangement as far as I can tell! Pals might be a small little sandwich guy but it boasts a beautiful outdoor patio in the summertime that just about doubles the space. Named Favourite Handheld on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list and most recently awarded Best Sandwich 2025 in EDify Magazine, you'll also find them on the Worldwide Faves section of this very website. The interior is somewhat small but very bright and fresh. Casual light wood high-tops, counter seating, a few bench seats near the back, and the aforementioned patio. You'll also note pops of their signature yellow, especially on their unmistakable brick facade outside. The restaurant feels breezy and gives off a comfortable vibe that makes you want to "stop in to grab a quick sandwich." And maybe people-watch out the window for a few minutes. The staff is also super friendly which makes you feel like you're hanging out with your pals. (Ha! See what I did there?) Situated at a table on a Saturday evening, I was looking for the maximum Pals experience! Pals is all about the drinks and offers an impressive array of cocktails and beer, especially for such a small shop. The Winter Sangria sounded like a seasonally appropriate delight while their Caesar made with pepperoncini brine is an ideal compliment to their use of pepperoncini elsewhere on the menu. On this visit I opted for the Strathcona Sling (Gin, cherry liqueurs, orange & pineapple juice, bitters - $15.00) which not only sounded delicious but also might be the signature beverage of the entire neighbourhood. This drink sounds like it might be pretty sweet but I didn't find that about it. It's very refreshing and the grown-up flavours from the gin and bitters hold their own. What sounds like a kid's shirley temple actually tastes quite adult. This would absolutely be the quintessential patio beverage on a hot summer day during the Fringe - a cocktail that lives up to it's name. The Pals food menu is an extravaganza of sandwiches! There are fourteen different sandwiches in two categories; made hot or served fresh. There's usually a feature sandwich as well. Be prepared for sandwiches like you've never seen them before! But the snacks, soups, and salads are incredible as well and the quality certainly doesn't stop with the sandwiches alone. In an effort to dig into this part of the menu a bit more I thought it prudent to order the Soup & Salad Combo (Choice of soup & salad with house focaccia - $19.00). A great option if maybe you don't want a sandwich. Pals usually has two different soups and salads on the go so you're able to customize this dish with whatever combo you like. I chose the House Soup (dill pickle & spicy pepperoncini) and The Other House Salad (iceberg lettuce, tomato, green onion, blue cheese, bacon, buttermilk ranch). Let's start with the soup. How unique!! You've never tasted a zingy little bowl of soup like this before! I don't know about you, but I love a dill pickle soup very much (maybe it's my Eastern European ancestry) but the addition of pepperoncini totally changes the game. This soup packs a punch but in the most interesting and delicious way. And then the salad! I ordered this one because it sounded like a wedge salad (one of my favourites) without the wedge. A deconstructed wedge salad, if you will. And boy did it deliver! The flavours of tomato and bacon together are so classic and the generous chunks of crumbled blue cheese were perfection. I loved how well-dressed everything was - not a dry leaf in the house. A salad may sound like a boring thing to order but certainly not in this case. Let's not forget the focaccia which cannot be treated as an afterthought because it was incredible. This bread was impossibly light while still possessing the unctuous and oily quality that you want from a focaccia. The crust was impossibly crispy and dusted in salt. What a dream! Honestly, I know that you need to order a sandwich... But maybe you don't? I'm going to have an existential crisis about this. But yes, I obviously ordered a sandwich. This might be an unpopular opinion but I highly favour the "served fresh" sandwiches at Pals by a lot. The BLT is the best in the entire city, I swear. The Burrata is completely insane - I've never seen a stack of prosciutto so high.

I am not particulary a sandwich person when we go out. However, we did want to try the new Pals…read moreSandwiches that opened up just off of Whyte Ave. They also had the sweetest patio which happened to have a few free spots. We ordered a couple of beers (Mojito Sour) and the Italian Pilsner. My husband also ordered a cocktail (the Spicy Paloma). The cocktail was okay but overpriced. It kinda tasted like the ones that you order at a place like Boston Pizza. However, the beers were refreshing and hit the spot. Menu is basic with a variety of Sandwiches, fries, soups and salads. We decided to try two sandwiches and share them. I chose the feature of the day which was a cheddar beef sandwich with a side of tortilla soup. Hubby chose the Reuban with fries. Service was friendly and our water glasses were filled constantly. Sandwiches came out pretty fast. They were well constructed and tasty. They both had a decent amount of meat in them. Definately the Reuban was more flavourful than the cheese and beef. My soup was awesome. Hubby's fries were average. Is this the best place to get a sandwich? No. But if you want a quick bite with decent food with a lovely atmosphere, check it out.

It's the season for anything apples, so I was happy to find a caramel apple cronut & went for a classic grick middle (as per their website & one of my favs - Fried Egg, Bacon, Rosemary Aioli, Smoked Cheddah, Tomato Jam, Arugula). Sadly with a cane & a reuseable bag, I couldn't take a coffee to go (stair logistics are hard enough) but it's always a great cup when I do have a free hand. Oh, I should mention in case I've never did in previous reviews, neither of these food options are something one wants to eat when trying to look presentable. As it's deliciously messy! There's a few bar seats at this location but it's best to take your food to go. At this particular location (there's 4 locations now!) there's no accessible entrance (nor exit). Kind of baffles my mind on why they didn't build a ramp with the newer set of stairs at the exit door. I even made the comment that it's really too bad they don't use the order window on the side (like they did in the pandemic), for us that need to avoid the challenge of stairs. There's also no railings on the steps, so be sure footed in wet & winter conditions (even if you're not disabled). So as much as I love the food & coffee at Farrow, I have to leave it as it's a place I'm going to only on a randomly decent mobility day for the knees & legs.
