John was very polite and immediately told me my HVAC closet smelled because a mouse died in there. He also called a relative while at my place and on the way home to give me their suggestions on dealing with the smell, which has nothing to do with HVAC and is above and beyond in my opinion. Yes, I did have to pay the $100 fee to come out. I paid in cash to not have to pay the 10% processing fee. I was fine with paying this to have someone come out so quickly, and on a Sunday. Would call again. When my problem actually involves HVAC repair.

C.D. Shanahan's is a fantastic family owned business. We have used them to replace our water heater…read moreand a new AC/Furnace unit. Our AC started having issues cooling Thursday night. Called Friday morning and the receptionist was amazing and got someone to our house that morning. Full diagnostic told us the compressor went bad. Our unit was 13 years old, so it was about time for a new system. We decided to replace whole system as replacing a compressor is quite expensive basically half the cost of a new one. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. The owner himself came with a couple guys and replaced our system. They were very polite, did excellent work and we were back up and running. Plus they had very affordable pricing. These guys care! Use 'em. We loved our experience from start to finish!

Mohamed offered a same-day inspection, quickly diagnosed the problem, and scheduled a follow-up once he had the parts. With parts in hand, he quickly remedied the issue, explaining the cause and the fix in full. A few days later, we actually encountered another issue with the washer (not his fault) and he came out quickly and remedied the new issue as well, and we're all up and running again! He's always prompt, incredibly friendly and professional, and I'll continue to rely on him for our appliance needs.

They also told me that the fan on the compressor was spinning in the wrong direction! I told Capitol Hill that they should make this right and he did not respond kindly. New HVAC filter, reset breaker. Thermostat batteries are fine. Still not kicking on. Sent Yelp message to RES because they have always been quick to respond. And they did this time as well and the woman who gave me a call was nice and tried to help. Pretty disappointed that they can't quickly swing by today. From what I've read, it's likely a dirty flame sensor or the ignitor switch (neither of which is a long job - I just don't have the tools). HVAC less than 5 years old, so parts are under warranty with RES; however, I had to call someone else. Bottom line: Someone else is coming today, but I could end up paying for parts. Kind of feels like my current needs weren't lucrative enough for RES to make a concerted effort to swing by.
