This particular location used to be great. The employees were very friendly and definitely knew what they were doing. My food always came out as requested and there were never any issues. Now, most of the prior employees no longer work there and this location just isn't the same. The current employees are cold, slack, aren't mindful and don't really know what they're doing. Highly recommend. It's sushi, a la Chipotle style. Essentially you walk up and construct your own roll starting with the wrap, the meat, veggies, other ingredients, and finally with the toppings. It's a flat out Americanized sushi so don't expect much authenticity here. But it's great in a pinch and for a quick meal. The vibe is good and it's a very small chain with 3-4 locations (if that). They embrace dietary restrictions, and never make you feel uncomfortable for special accommodations (actually they ask if you have any!) Fusian has a unique build your own approach to sushi that has turned sushi into a fast food instead of a sit down restaurant. The best way to describe this place to people that might be unfamiliar with it is that it is like Chipotle, only with sushi instead of burritos. The price for sushi at Fusian is right - you can get some very large and filling rolls for much less than I would pay at a typical sushi restaurant for the same thing. If you are looking for a filling a roll on the cheap, I would definitely recommend getting all the veggies, as the only thing they charge you additional for is extra meat. As my review, I have to brag on the consistently awesome staff, they really make the entire experience so much better. I do love the sushi, but the customer service is just phenomenal. This is the letter I just wrote to the manager. Jon, I patroned your restaurant this evening and I had to ask for your contact information so I could brag about how wonderful your employees were. I brought a little girl with me (my next door neighbor) so she could try sushi for the first time. Coco waited on us, she took 15 minutes (as there was no line and the establishment was about to close) to carefully explain all the ingredients she could put in her roll and made her two custom rolls with different combinations of protein and veggies so she could "try everything". It made this little girl's day. It was all she talked about the rest of the night. (And she loved the sushi) she even reminded me to "thank coco and God bless her". Coco even paid for the roll herself. Gordon also came over to check on us several times, gave us another fantastic roll., and was exceedingly nice. No one even rushed us out although we realized (after the fact) that the store was closed. The entire staff was a delight. I've never written a thank you to a business before but this truly warranted thanks. I have not been to many Fusian locations but I am a customer for life now. I will be writing the same in the review I leave on yelp, and I guarantee I will be back with more of my friends soon. Thank you for hiring such wonderful staff. read more

Love this place!!! The sushi is tasty and a nice variety (including vegan)! The tofu is roasted and seasoned to yummy delicious perfection that even the non-vegan palette would enjoy. I stopped in with a friend that has seafood allergies and they accommodated her by preparing an allergy free roll (that she LOVED). The staff were young, knowledgeable and super friendly!!! No soft drink machine, just a variety of house-made lemonades and teas. The person comparing this place to Taco Bell must eat at a much better Taco Bell than I do. Staff is friendly. Food is fresh. Really good sushi rolls. 10 pieces per roll and almost enough for a hungry regular-sized man. The miso soup might be hit or miss. On a scale of 1-10 I give Fusian a 2. I should have walked out the door when I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and the girl that waited on me picked up 2 shrimp that where as thin as a shoelace. The seaweed in the roll was very dry and had no flavor. I have tried the white rice and the brown and they are both just awful! This was my second attempt to eat here and it will be the last. The second time I tried to eat here, I tried a roll with half tuna and half salmon, it was just as bad as the first visit. I like sushi that is hand rolled the traditional way and I like good quality seafood. Basically, you get what you pay for. I would much rather spend a few more dollars and go down the street to a authentic sushi restaurant like Kabuki. Sushi should not need a bunch of sauces and crunchy things on top to taste good. I have been eating the chicken at Fusian for at least 8 years, it was always good quality and great tasting. Just recently they changed the chicken from breasts to thighs, I'm not sure if they are trying to cut costs or what but the chicken thighs are awful and I will never get them again. before fusian came to dayton the only place you could find decent sushi was either at the grocery, a fine dining restaurant, or this place at the mall that you'd only want to get the sushi to go because the interior is creepy...so props to mr. harman and mr. weprin for giving the dayton people an inexpensive, quick and refreshing way to eat enjoy sushi! not only are the create your own rolls fresh, they are big! 1 roll and an order of edamame will definitely fill you up! oh and the employees are friendly and they play good music! read more

I just moved to Dayton a few weeks ago and heard nothing but amazing things about this place. So naturally, I had to check it out! Definitely did not disappoint. I love the concept of "create your own sushi." Simple, fresh ingredients that taste great. This is a good spot for those who are trying sushi for the first time. I am not a huge sushi fan and I expect if you ARE and know really good sushi, you may not think this place is all that awesome. It is essentially like Chipotle for sushi where you go down a line and create your own roll. I think it's nice that they have cooked meats in addition to raw so if you're squeamish about it, no worries. I have been here a few times and it is always packed with students but it moves pretty quickly. Pretty neat concept for sushi preparation the likes of which I have not seen. Perhaps there is a reason for that though as the meat was not fresh, even considering the location, with a hard sushi wrap but okay sauces. If you know sushi, well, you will have a difficult time eating here. All that being said, the staff was very pleasant and the store was well laid out. This place is intended to be a hip hangout that offers good food with a twist. It's a great place to meet and greet. Did I expect the best sushi when I first visited? Of course not, the prices alone will tell you that. The food is decent, yes maybe a little steep for the quality and amount, but decent anyways. Ordering Online is not effective. Three times in a row I ordered, showed up and they had not started it yet. Today they were argumentative with me about customers in line taking priority. I had already paid so I had no choice but to stand there and wait several minutes for them to start me online order. Was on the other end of the counter and did not notice that they used the wrong rice on one order and the wrong ingredients on another.
