Fantastic! This is basically an assembly line sushi place, think Chipotle for sushi. The ingredients are fresh, and lots of variety. I was able to make a delicious Vegetarian roll. I was traveling when I ate here and will be looking for one in my home state. read more

Lucas at this location is great. He's super good at working the line and really makes the experience awesome. We always come to this location because we know we will get the best service. He basically knows me and my friends order by heart. read more

Good, quick, design-it-yourself style sushi. I recommend the tuna, cucumber, avocado seaweed roll with sriracha mayo, eel sauce, masago and tempura crumbles. This is basically a Japanese chipotle. Not the best sushi in the world but a great, cheap, and quick option. read more

I love Fusian. The guys behind this place are Cincinnati locals who are slowly building what I predict to be a big hit nationwide down the road, if they do it right. To be fair, this is not the kind of sushi one would expect from a seasoned sushi master, so if you're looking for that, this isn't the place for you. This is the place to get quick, simple and delicious sushi on the go. As others have said, the concept is basically Chipotle for sushi--you order up front and your sushi is made on the line while you watch and select items to fill your roll, so the creative aspect of your sushi is really up to you. As a result, choices for filling are also limited to sushi basics like tempura shrimp, crab stick, and tuna. Veggie options also include standards like avocado, asparagus, green onion and a few unexpected (and seasonal) options such as sweet potato. Choose your toppings and you're done. Edamame, miso soup, and seaweed salad are also available, as are a few unique drink choices such as ginger lemonade. Staff is friendly. Additionally, Fusian's Brown Street location composts a good deal of its waste, offering separate trash receptacles are available for recyclables vs. compostables. Big kudos for this touch. This is a great place for sushi newcomers and families--my kids love it. If you like quick sushi, it's well worth a try. read more

I get fusian probably once a week or so and there has never been a mistake (delivery and/or in store). But I got a bowl delivered and they had left the salmon off of my fiancé's bowl. I called the store and I'm not sure who I spoke with but he apologized two or three times and refunded my whole order after providing him the order number and apologizing again - within just a few minutes. I really appreciated that! read more

Disappointing. Walked in at 11am today and was told the staff were not ready. Staff member then walked outside and just stared across the street. Sloppy and no discipline whatsoever. No staff on the line. read more

Wow... I do not understand the 4 and 5 star reviews. I found the sushi to be unimaginative and subpar. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but it was NOT good. I've had better from a supermarket. Love the concept but the delivery and quality was a makor read more

Brought my "not so hip" dad here and the staff was so kind and patient and walked him through his entire order and answered all of his not so hip questions. The food is always so fresh and delicious and the new bowls are super filling! read more

I am a super duper fan! Who would've thought that my favorite sushi in the whole world would be from Dayton, Ohio? Not this Hawaiian girl, that's for sure. Coming from Hawaii I have had sushi a million and 2 times and ya know what? This place can throw it down! They have an array of fabulously cool sushi making gadgetry manned by the coolest cats in town. Everything is fresh and oozing with tasty treats galore. Eggplant, cream cheese, fish eggs oh my! Now don't tell anyone but...I hate seafood. I am from Hawaii and detest it. The nice thing about this place is that you can have fabulous sushi rolls that consist of more than cucumber and rice. Steak, chicken, tofu...the possibilities are endless and fabulous to boot. This place is so wonderful that we drive a half an hour to dine here. You should too. You won't be disappointed! read more

Today was my first time to Fusian. I love sushi, so I thought that I would give it a try. First of all, when I first walked in, I thought the place was closed. There is just a disconnect. The setting felt empty. I wasn't not greeted when I first walked in. There weren't many options to choose from, I don't care if you are able to watch them make it. I thought the price was a bit steep. It was $8.75. After eating the food, I noticed that the food was tasteless. The only thing that I remember about the food was that the food was really crunchy. So I just decided that I wouldn't eat there again. But after about a good hour, I felt terribly sick. At first I just thought it was a upset stomach, not big deal. But after going to the restroom like 4 to 5 times, I started vomiting. I was constantly vomiting! I just don't know what to make of the place, besides, I won't be going there again. I may call the health inspector! read more

After 2 trips to the ER, a ruined "vacation" and feeling like poop 3 days later, do I recommend this place? Hmm no. Very kindly I ask you not to visit this or other establishments owned by them. Instead do me a big favor: Google sushi training. Done? Good. So you saw it takes 7 years to be a good sushi chef and as the ER doc said the 1st year is just learning to sharpen knives. So what made me and my husband decide to take our little adventurous selves here when there are young Caucasian kids making the sushi? Not to be racist at all bc I'm half white but it's absurd to believe these people received the correct training to prepare this delicate and difficult meal. Pure stupidity. And we are paying for it. I'll spare you all the nasty details but my husband is extremely sick and I've got bad stomach cramps and other things going for me. Life lesson learned? "Don't be stupid because it's hard to avoid stupid people consequences." read more

if your taste for sushi is marinated fish (to cover the fishiness of the fish), rice that is crunchy and pressed to non existent by a machine, then Fusian is the place for you. Just mind blowing that they have such a high rating on Yelp. I will give credit to the staff...very friendly service..just like Chipotle. and the place was clean. Just wish the sushi was at least half way decent. A no go. read more

Fast food is usually associated with poor quality and service but not so here. If you want a quick sushi fix, then this is the place to go. I appreciate the mostly locally sourced ingredients as well. read more

Set menu and option to choose your own ingredients. All orders are made on the spot. Staff is young and friendly. Prices are average I would say. I wish we had something like this in the Boston area! read more

I'm disappointed. Thought I'd pop in and see what all the fuss was about ... and it turns out the place is NOT about good sushi, but about being a gimmicky sushi-wannabe. I got food poisoning, a large bill from both Fusian AND my doctor, and not one thing on the menu I'd ever order again. Nasty stuff, I'm sorry to say. Akashi, Kabuki, and Kai are all worlds away better than this place. read more

I've come here a handful of times and Delaney is always the best. My boyfriend has some food allergies and she goes above and beyond to carefully make our rolls and salads. We are always very satisfied when we eat here! Thanks Delaney for saying hi and being helpful. read more

Fast. Cheap. DELICIOUS. I take my non sushi loving friends here also as they have chicken, steak, tofu and cooked salmon to choose from. The sweet chili sauce is amazing! You can't go wrong with whatever you order and it's a much better alternative to other more expensive sushi options for lunch in downtown Dayton. read more

Went here today for the first time and was really impressed. I made two rolls and got a seaweed salad. I threw out the salad, I did not like it at all. Both rolls I created were a better version of what I can pick up at Kroger. If I want excellent rolls I'll stick to Cho's or Thai 9, but for a quick dinner or lunch at a reasonable price this place is great! **Edit...I will never go to Thai 9 again read more

Dude, ate here today-first time ever-some worth it. I absolutely have NOTHING bad to say, environment/customer service/quality of food/recycled materials all 100% worth going (and supporting!) thank you for the experience!! read more

for the price and quality- you can't beat this place. It's fast- fresh- and always tasty. Definitely not the fanciest sushi around- and their rolls are super basic- but you can build them to your likes and dislikes- and they'll always be tasty! such a great place to learn to love sushi. You can even go with chicken- or steak if you don't do the fish thing. read more

Not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's very good for cheap sushi. It's like the chipotle of sushi. You walk in, chose what you want and not want. They roll it, cut it, place it and yum! Lol read more

Best sushi this California/Hawaii native has had in Ohio. Don't let the 'fast food assembly line' turn you away from trying this place. We tried 3 of their 'Suggested Rolls' (California, Shrimp Tempura Roll w/Crab, and Surf and Turf). We also had the edamame, miso soup, and all the sauces they offer. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. They are also very 'eco friendly'. read more

Ok, typing this from my phone, bear with me. :) Anyway, I will occasionally drive out here from Richmond, Indiana, where I go to school. Like the other reviews say, it's essentially a chipotle...but for sushi...which may be the best idea ever? Hence the near perfect score they have on yelp. There are many health-friendly options(vegan/vegetarian too!) and I believe everything in the restaurant is compostable. Wow. Excellent. Cheap, fast, delicious, healthy, sustainable- excellent combination. But, the main point of this review and the 5 stars, is for the excellent service I've received the handful of random times I've been here. People working here could be crappy and people would still flock because of the reasons listed above. BUT the people have been really excellent and kind and funny. Seriously. It's ridiculously refreshing. I can get really sick and fed up with these transactionary (not a real word ;)) and/or fake interactions. But, the people I've talked to seem really nice. There is one guy in particular asks how people's days are and strikes up conversation. But like, genuinely. Haha. I mean it. It's so awesome. I hope your manager reads this and tells you it's greatly appreciated! Yeah, yeah it may be a small gesture, but enough to significantly brighten one's day- especially in a world that seems to be zoned out and disconnected (under the guise of hyper-interconnectedness). Keep it up! :) Thank you! read more

Quick place to grab yummy sushi. The soy wrap is very good, don't shy away! Everyone is always so nice in there and are always willing to help you make your perfect roll! read more

Following the trend of create-your-own foods, this sushi place is pretty fun. The sushi isn't as good as you'd get from a traditional sushi place, and the price is a little on the high side ($8 for a roll, and you'd need two to be filled). It's nice for a quick, light bite. read more

So proud to know that UD grads started this joint! I order every veggie they got, add the crunchy tempura and spicy mayo, and scarf it down just as quickly as they put it together for me. read more

For those who do not like sushi, don't fret, Fusian is the place to go and start! I hate myself for not eating here more and can't wait for more locations. Great environment with great workers. I recommend the crab mix, with any veggies they have, avocado, cucumber, jalapeños, cream cheese, carrots, etc. They always have a veggie of the month so keep an eye out on their Instagram or twitter for updates each month! The Sweet Soy sauce on top of the sushi is a great choice and i always hit it up with a side of Spicy Mayo. read more

A unique sushi roll concept restaurant. It's kind of like a Chipotle; go through the line and create your own sushi roll. There is something for everyone here, even those who "ew" at the word sushi. You can make your roll as authentic as you want with eel, tuna, and masago; or if you don't care for sushi but you want to try to be cool, you can get chicken, cream cheese, and veggies. Lots of options for sauce and toppers too- tempura crunchies! The rolls are a good size; one makes a big meal. If that's not enough though, you can get a side of seaweed salad or edemame. The staff is friendly and helpful. Super cool atmosphere. Definitely a place for you to try. read more

I really have mixed feelings regarding Fusian. I love sushi and I love the idea of Fusian but as far as flavor it can't compare to having a trained sushi-chef prepare something fresh with top of the line ingredients. Although, if you are looking for quick sushi on a budget, I suggest giving Fusion a try. read more

I went here for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. My husband dubbed it Build Your Own Sushi. This is done in fast food style of standing in line. You pick your wrap seaweed or soy lined with rice. Then you choose your protein choice, and vegetable options. They roll it, cut it then you choose your sauce preference. Add some wasabi and ginger on the side and you are good to go. It was amazingly good. They have a limited alcohol selection of sake and beer. All rolls are under $10 and are a decent size of 10 pieces. read more

Very good, uncomplicated sushi at a great price. The yellowtail and eel were very fresh.

This is an ok place to get a sushi fix. Not the best but i can't complain. Dont expect a smile or greetings as you enter the place. All the employees are robots designed to roll eyes and sushi and put them in the sushi roll autoslicer 3000. Prices are ok, the place seems clean. But man! Student employees are the worst. This fastfood sushi place would be great if it had more personality. Great location. read more

This is a great little place for Sushi since you get to make your own. Think Chipolte for Sushi. Loved it and will go again!

I come here often. The staff are very friendly. My fav rolls are phildaphia roll ( smoked salmon) and shrimp tempura. I tried their caviar once it wasn't pleasant experience. The prices are ok. This restaurant is what i call chipotle sushi they have the same concept. They just add drinks to their menu , i tried to mix lemonade with cucumber and mint it was bit watery and tasteless. read more

Yum yum yum and yum. This place is incredible. This was my first experience and it was phenomenal and if I lived in Dayton, I'd eat here every day. No joke. They use a completely different, clean station to cut vegetarian sushi to not cross contaminate. This is the first restaurant I've not had to specifically ask to use a separate knife or get weird looks or sass for being vegetarian. The staff is so friendly, kind, and helpful. Not to mention the sushi is best I've ever had. My mind is blown. Please come to Cleveland!!! read more

Highly recommend. It's sushi, a la Chipotle style. Essentially you walk up and construct your own roll starting with the wrap, the meat, veggies, other ingredients, and finally with the toppings. It's a flat out Americanized sushi so don't expect much authenticity here. But it's great in a pinch and for a quick meal. The vibe is good and it's a very small chain with 3-4 locations (if that). Even more appealing is their environmentally sustainable attitude. read more
