Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). I'll be using them for as long as they give great service!

Julio and Gio stayed until everything was perfect. I have a Trane S9V2 60,000 BTU High Efficiency Furnace that replaced an oversized BTU furnace that would overheat in the winter and stop working. The Air Conditioner was replaced by the Bosch Inverter Ducted Split 2.0 Heat Pump. Both are high efficiency technology meant to save energy costs and perform quieter, faster, smarter. I design things for all to use them and for some to service them. 2.5T for a small house like mine is possibly an overkill but that explains its lasting. 40 years of working AC unit is unheard of, correct, but it is ME who decides about replacement or maintenance, and your tech (still working there?) did NOT do the maintenance I've paid for. So, he did no technical work and you owe me that 99(?) bucks :-)

Our AC was from the 90s when we moved in a couple years ago, and recently when we noticed our house wasn't becoming any cooler with our AC on all day, we knew we would probably need a replacement since it was 20+ years old. My parents had Elvis come out last year to repair their furnace, and right away, they recommended him to us. When I initially contacted him, I wanted to be sure he could come to Schaumburg since he is in Chicago, and it was no problem. I initially asked for him to complete a diagnostic to see what was wrong, and when he arrived, he came to the conclusion that we had a refrigerant leak. He told us he could replace the refrigerant but informed us that it would be an expensive short-term solution. As a result, we hired him to replace our AC unit, and since we were paying for a whole new unit, he didn't end up charging us for the initial diagnostic. He worked with my husband's and my schedule to come and replace it, and he was able to come on a Saturday, which was so nice. He even came the next day (Sunday) for about an hour and a half so that he could test everything and finish some last-minute details. He did everything on his own, and it took him a day to install. He walked us through everything he had to do, and when done, he was also able to haul away our old unit. He was able to provide our HOA the required insurance docs and also the specs for the AC unit, AND he worked with the Village of Schaumburg to get the required permits. Overall, he did an amazing job, and our house feels so comfortable again. The new unit is much more energy efficient than our old one, and we even have a 10-year warranty on the unit. We will continue to call Elvis for any and all questions or repairs.

Karl was friendly and communicative with a competitive price. Christian and Zeke came to the house early. They treated the home with respect, wearing shoe covers and cleaning up diligently, despite it being a dirty job. They had different methods for different vent styles, and helped with a few above and beyond tasks, like re-shaping a bent duct. Christian and Zeke suggested that the ducts of my home had never been cleaned, ever, based on the quantity and type of stuff they were finding. It seemed like a pretty intense job, but they were in good spirits the whole time. My dog was nervous about all the noisy tools- shop-vacs, leaf blowers, etc.- but the guys were so sweet to her, she wanted them to stay. I'm not kidding, the air quality is IMMEDIATELY better in this house, and the smell is wildly improved- maybe even gone. No, this is probably not a service you regularly need, but if your house is pushing 100 years old and reeks, treat yourself to a visit from Ugly Ductling.

Our dryer was acting up. The loads were taking 2-3 cycles to dry and we noticed a faint burning smell whenever it was on. Not wanting the house to burn down, we thought we'd have to replace the dryer. Bek to the rescue! It now runs perfectly and most importantly, that burning smell is gone. Making the appointment was easy. You can call or text. He was really friendly and quick to respond. He wore those blue disposable booties over his shoes EVERY time he had to enter the house. Appreciated that so much! I didn't hover while he worked, but he seemed very meticulous and conscientious about fixing the problem. He took the machine apart, hooked up some equipment to check the inside of the dryer. He also checked the back of the dryer, and the outside vent. He brought his own vacuum and it's powerful! Got rid of all the lint that we couldn't get to. He also replaced the foil hose at the back of the dryer. He ran the dryer to test that it worked properly and also went outside a few times to check the airflow coming out of the vent. When finished, area was clean. Anytime I asked a question, he was happy to either show me or kindly explain something to me. When he finished with the dryer, I also asked if he would replace a burnt out light bulb in our freezer. He went to his truck to see if he had the part. He did, and replaced it in less than a minute. Highly, highly recommend Bek! From now on I'm calling Switch Service! It was Saturday afternoon. I was desperate. My refrigerator stopped working and food was spoiling. I tried calling several listings on Yelp for Saturday service, but Bek was the only one who would come on Saturday. Everyone else said Monday. Bek came around 8pm. I was a bit apprehensive, calling a total stranger, but was quickly put at ease. Bek was not the first person I called, but he will be the only person I'm calling from now on based on his great service, smarts and kindness. They were nice enough to tell me, I got the wrong size filter screen and googled what I needed, where and what to buy in seconds. I asked them, what would happen if I used this filter that was left for the furnace. So I called yesterday to set up an appointment for my washer. I received a reply immediately, which I liked because I was freaking out. Lol. Russ came out today and examined my machine. After diagnosing the problem, I was given an estimate. However, Russ immediately informed us that the price to fix is was not worth it and it would be better to just get a new machine. How many businesses will do that? Many will just take the money and fix it. I appreciated the honesty. What I also liked about this company is the communication. I receieved phone calls and text messages to confirm and inform me about the process. Though I decided Russ was right, it will be more cost efficient to purchase another machine, I locked this company's number in my phone. Great service! The technician was able to accommodate an appointment the same day I contacted their business and he asked great questions in order to come prepared with necessary tools, equipment, and possible replacement parts so that he can fix my washer. He was able to fix the issue quite easily (which I believed would not be fixable) and we also agreed for a follow up appointment the same week in order for him to change some pieces to avoid further issues. I really appreciated the fact that I was given clear explanation of summary charges that included a flat fee for labor, which was quite reasonable considering that the technician came with an assistant to his second appointment. I was ecstatic when Bek from Switch Service repaired my leak in my KitchenAid French Door Refrigerator that was over 10 years old. He was so knowledgeable about how to fix this which required taking apart the whole bottom freezer to clean the drain hoses etc. He was so professional and totally kind about listening to my concerns, assuring me that my refrigerator would return in a few hours to the normal temperatures in both the freezer and refrigerator and that I could call if I had any questions. Switch Service was able to schedule an appointment for service on our washing machine and dryer the very next business day. We were notified when Bek was on his way, and he arrived right as was scheduled. Bek took the time to explain the work that needed to be done and followed through with a great job repairing our washing machine and completing much needed maintenance service on both appliances. He took the time to explain his recommendations to keep both appliances in top working condition as well as the work he had completed. In addition, the cost was very reasonable, especially given the amount of time Bek spent in completing the work. We'll definitely keep Switch Service in mind for any work in the future. read more

They are great. Honest & knowledgeable. Came the same day. Analyzed the problem with my 15 year old frig. Gave me a quote to repair. Wasn't cheap, but a fair price. They suggested it was more economical not to repair, but I told them to order the part. They spent the next 45 minutes testing all the components & decided it was actually the compressor. More money. I had already paid half the quoted fee. They again tried to convince me not to repair the frig. When I finally agreed, they were happy. Refunded all of my money except for a really reasonable service call fee, even though they would have made a bunch of cash on the repair. Can't say enough both these guys. Refrigerator stopped working and response was very fast. Determined what was needed for replacement parts but was able to remove ice buildup and get the unit working. Returned the following Monday and replace temperature sensor and circuit board which controls the auto defrost function. Our technician was very flexible on setting up a first and second visit i.e the times were convenient to my time at my business. Russ was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Price s for both labor and parts seemed honest and fair. Hard to find this kind of service anywhere today or so it seems.
