Went to Fusaro's for dinner last night and the food was so, so delicious, I'm shocked there aren't more 5-star reviews. I've never been compelled to write a Yelp review before so this is a first for me, but here goes: Service was fantastic; our waiter was attentive, knowledgable, and fast. Hostesses were very friendly, we were seated on the patio immediately, which was lovely and comfortable. But that fooood though! It's almost embarrassing how quickly we devoured our meals. We started with the meatballs and crispy brussel sprouts for apps - and holy sh*t were they delicious. My kids are super picky eaters and they were literally fighting over the last half of the last meatball. I had to ask my husband to move the brussel sprouts away from me because I wasn't even scooping them onto my plate, just shoveling them straight into my mouth. For dinner, I got the Fusilli Alla Vodka and I wish I could adequately describe how mouth watering the sauce was. Without question it's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Easily top five. My husband raved about the Fettucine Giardiniera and my daughter ended up stealing his plate after she finished her spaghetti. We are going back for pizza because the tables around us were all enjoying theirs and they looked too good to pass up. The drinks were delicious but the food was the star of our show for sure. We went for an early sitting to the restaurant and sat out on the porch. The staff was very welcoming and attentive throughout the meal. We all had a starter, I had the scallops wrapped in bacon and they were absolutely delicious. Then I had the Parmigiana crusted Haddock and was one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. We all had delicious food and excellent company and the staff were wonderful and attentive. I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious meal on Nantucket. read more

The fried mozzarella is one of the top 3 in my life. It's a flakey type of batter that is very light. I could eat 2 servings by myself. The Alfredo sauce was runny. The pizza was decent. I would go back and just eat the fried mozzarella. read more

The calamari had a nice spice but was soggy (possibly because I ordered it for take out but still like 7/10). I got the Anastasia pizza and was underwhelmed. The crust and bread was boring but the mushrooms and tomatos really popped with the truffle oil. Good vibes inside I will definitely be back to dine in and try some pasta read more

We dined at Fusaro's on a Wednesday during off season in January. However, neither service nor quality of food were anything but stellar. The experience was similar to what I am used to from Europe. The waiters were professionals knowing their craft versus part-time employees doing a job. The meal was great. Aperitif: Habanero and jalapeño infused margarita on the rocks with spicy salt rim Appetizers: We had the carpaccio and Nantucket calamari. Both delicious. Main course: Capellini with scallops, spinach and prosciutto in a white wine sauce and Scallops over roasted fingerling potatoes with aioli (the menu said French fries but I asked to change it to the potatoes and it was no problem) Again both dishes were very good and the scallops in both dishes were cooked to perfection. The pasta was slightly under seasoned, but tasted perfect after adding a pinch of salt. The fennel salad with the scallops was a bit overpowered by the mayonnaise-based dressing. A more pronounced fennel flavor would have made this dish stand out even more. As drink pairings we had a Pinot Grigio with the pasta and an Athletic Light (nonalcoholic) beer with the scallops. I was happy to see a nonalcoholic option on the drinks menu. A light beer is a good and acceptable pairing with the seafood. I suggest adding a Peroni 0.0 as a secondary and Italian beer option. Dessert Grappa, coffee and tiramisu. Again, great attention to detail as the whipped cream was made with coffee. Ambience and service The small and cozy restaurant is an ideal spot for a date night or a family dinner. It is quiet and elegant enough to have a conversation but not so formal that children have to stay home. The bar area feels separate from the main L-shaped dining room which again offers multiple experiences: cocktails with friends, small bites after work or a full dinner. The staff knows what they are doing. The different courses were spaced out nicely and we never felt rushed to either order or finish quickly. The waiters struck a great balance between being attentive and allowing us space to enjoy our meal and conversation. Thank you for a wonderful evening at your restaurant. I've had dinner inside Fusaro's and have ordered pizza for take-out plenty of times and was never disappointed. This evening I ordered the entree - "Gnocchi alla Sorrentina" which is described as: "baked house-made potato gnocchi, Pomodoro, buffala mozzarella, basil." List price was $22. The total was $23.54 (with tax). When I opened the brown paper bag I was presented with what you see in the picture below. No salad, no bread, no napkin, no fork, no knife. Just ate at this restaurant. We were stable of 6 and they don't take reservations. We need we would have a wait due to the size of our group. However, as we were waiting we notice the that large parties were being seated before us. Once we were seating we watched others come in after us and served BEFORE us!!! Besides an hour gap between apps and entree once we got our food the portions were pathetically small and one was wrong The waiter told the the manager that we were not happy, he told 15% of the bill. That was nice but because of so many things that went wrong the manager should have come to our table personally. It's definitely a locals place and they don't seem to care about the tourists. We have been coming to Nantucket for summer vacation for many years. We will NOT be visiting this restaurant again!!!!!! read more

SLOW. After 75 minutes, no food and the waitress had been to the table once. Other tables that sat after us got food. We approached the manager and they were unapologetic, unhelpful and arrogant. Even when the food eventually came, the waitress didn't acknowledge the wait or lack of service. 4 entrees (including a small pizza and kids plain pasta) should not take this long (especially seating at 5:45pm). SMALL. Portion sizes were tiny for the price. SO-SO. Taste was bland. This was our first time at this restaurant after coming to Nantucket for over 5 years and will be our last. We pop in here annually in August and are never disappointed. The food is always great. This time I was happy to see they'd updated they're menu - and honestly it's one of the better Italian menus that I have seen. Something for everyone - seafood, pasta, veg dishes, pizza. Pasta and sausage are also made in house. They've also further renovated their patio into a large 3-4 season space. Bad reviews must be for takeout order wait times when the kitchen is overrun? I'm also guessing there may be a low tolerance for rude patrons here? To me it seems well run, with the owners in the house and the mostly adult staff doing their thing as it should be done. read more

The Good: We called the restaurant directly and they never received the order! Even though it was 10 minutes to closing, the owner said she would make the order and her husband would deliver it. The Delicious: The pizzas were worth waiting for and because of the problems with the order, the complimentary salads were a welcomed extra touch. FIVE STAR SERVICE! Absolute disaster of a carry-out experience. One Caesar salad, two pasta dishes, so nothing terribly complex. It took a full hour and forty-five minutes from order being placed to food being delivered. The food was forty-five minutes later than the time we were told it would be ready. I understand that restaurants get slammed and the kitchen backs up, but an hour and forty-five minutes for what we got (see photo; that's $17 worth of pasta that took almost two hours to cook) is unacceptable. I'd give Fusaro's 2.5 stars for service and 4.5 for taste. Nantucket is a pretty small place. Before the people working there realized that my friend was the daughter of people they knew personally, they were pretty rude to us. Though we were merely three girls shivering in the corner, waiting for the rest of our party, one of the workers INSISTED that we know if our party consisted of 5 or 6 people right there and then. Sometimes plans are hard to make! I totally get that it is an important thing to know especially when the restaurant is crowded. However, there is simply nothing we can do about it if we genuinely just have no idea if one person in the party is coming to dinner or not. Setting that aside, once they realized which family we were with, they were significantly nicer. Not a super great thing to witness but hey, it happens. The food took well over half an hour to come out. By that point, all of the appetizers and bread were gone. The food was pretty great though. Everyone enjoyed their pasta and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza that we split. The crust was to-die for. I'll admit - I've never had a pizza with such delicious crust! It tasted almost buttery; not hard to eat by itself at all. The large pizza is the perfect size for two moderately hungry adults. Great place to go with your family and have a delicious and filling Italian dinner. Just be ready to fill in the time with quite a bit of conversation. read more

Have ordered takeout twice in past few weeks. Food is always top notch and amazing. However, first time we placed order around 2 pm. When we arrived at 6:50 for 7 pm pickup, it wasn't ready, which was fine as we were early. But around 7:20 when it still wasn't ready, it got a bit annoying. Finally came around 5 minutes after that. Was worth it in the end but frustrating when we ordered so far in advance that it wasn't ready on time. Still waiting for a call and it's almost 2 hours later and nothing. Obviously, we're at another restaurant but still. Very rude to make us wait for nothing and we only waited because it's a busy time in Nantucket and we felt locked in to eat here within a reasonable dinner hour for food that's not even authentic Italian. Went here 2 days in a row it was so good. It does not allow reservations. The gluten free pizza was great. The marinara sauce was excellent on the pizza and cheese was delicious. Perfectly cooked. A coworker mentioned going to this place so as soon as I was back on island we made a trip. Bar is right at the entrance with seating nearby. Some of the seats were a little close for comfort, but it wasn't full because we went right before closing so I didn't feel like I was having dinner with other people. Got a salted caramel martini. It. Was. Delicious. Best drink I've had in a while. Whoever mixed it that night did a superb job and I'm sad I didn't manage to get back to sample it again. My coworker and I split a pizza. It was okay, not the best I've ever had. Thin crust with fresh toppings so I can't complain too much. Classic Italian restaurant fare. I tend to be picky because I'm from an area with a large Italian American population. So the food has to be homemade to impress me. Nice place to eat, typical Nantucket prices. We just had a wonderful meal at Fusaro's. This was my second time here, with my last visit being 2 years ago. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. The menu had so many wonderful choices it was difficult to decide on an entree. We had Anthony's pizza for an appetizer and it was incredible. Thin, crispy but chewy, delicious crust with fresh sauce, lots of cheese, sausage, and meatballs. I finally decided on the lasagna and it was spectacular as well. Huge portion. The staff were all so charming and made the visit even more memorable. I will be sure to make a trip here with every visit to Nantucket. read more

We got an Anthony's Special and a simple cheese pizza and they were amazing! Such a treat! Worst service ever. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. We ordered takeout and were told it would be ready at 8. When we arrived at 8 we were told "whoever said 8 was wrong." We did not receive our order until 50 minutes after we were told it would be ready. This place has complete disrespect for their customers and we will never be back. Mixed experience so I agree with the 3 stars. Food was generally tasty. Some portions were generous, others such as meatball app small. Bit odd though ...ordered $125 worth of take out food ...they don't include bread without asking which is unusual for an Italian restaurant ...which we then had to wait 20 minutes extra for them to bake ...and only included 2 small containers of cheese for 4 entrees and 2 apps. We asked for more cheese and they gave us just 1 extra small container. Felt like we were imposing. Very sparse sauce per picture. I would go back to give them a second chance but be more specific when ordering as to our expectations. read more

Food is bad. Fellow tourist please don't visit. Ingredients are not fresh. You can tell it from your very first bite. There is absolutely no depth to the taste. Their tomato base is very salty. Our minestrone soup and pizza tasted the same-Equally disappointing. Clams are tiny too. Our mussels were probably frozen. Aside from the bad food quality, noise pollution, slow service and long wait, everything else is good-which is almost none. I give them 1 star because I can't give 0. read more

Went here last night with a large group - 11 adults and 7 kids. They split us up into 3 tables of 8, 5 and 5, which was fine. As we were seated, I heard one of the extremely rude waitstaff say to another on in a hushed tone "we'll just bang it out and get them out of here quick." As the kids were getting seated, one of them knocked over a small vase on the table spilling a small amount of water. One of the waitstaff then aggressively pushed me out of the way - repeatedly, since I was not eager to be pushed around - in order to get a towel to "clean up the mess." Our experience did not get better from here. When the food came, they switched two of the meals. After one of the diners began eating the incorrect meal, it took 15-20 minutes for them to rush out the replacements - fish that was undercooked and linguini with clams that had NO taste. Several diners had the meatballs- which arrived gray in color with NO sauce. Freaky. My dish (beef short rib with rigatoni) was actually pretty good, as was the calamari. The pizza also was decent. That was about it. My wife got up at one point to take one of the kids to the bathroom. As she returned to the table, the hostess came up and asked if she could take the chair for another table which needed to be seated. We were still eating our meals!! Since we were celebrating a birthday, we had brought an ice cream cake from the Juice Bar for dessert. After we served the cake, we asked the hostess if we could put it back in the freezer while we finished up. Her reply - "no, we need your table for other diners and don't have the space in the freezer." Overall, a very poor experience on an island filled with fantastic restaurants. We will not be back. I have given 2 stars since some if the food was decent, but the overall atmosphere was "move it along!" read more
