Delicious food and a great atmosphere. The staff is always very friendly. The crab rangoons are definitely a must to order.

The food was delicious and expensive. We had the asparagus salad and summer salad. Both were delicious and fresh. Steak frites were delicious and the serving size was decent. Duck carnitas was the hit! The duck was delicious and tender. The toppings (pickled onions, pickled veggies, salsa) with the corn tortillas were just right. You prep your own tacos with all the fillings. This was our favorite and we enjoyed the unique concept to use duck! It was an expensive meal but worth it! Service was great. I took more photos but realized they were quite blurry due to it being dark out and I didn't give my phone enough time to capture the photo. I wanted to eat!!! I would definitely come again.

This being 1:00 pm too. Or, The Whale boasts a great wait staff who are accommodating and professional, as well as being just plain nice. A very clean establishment. We started with the crudités as an appetizer, and we both had the asparagus salad as our lunch - to die for! Very, very good! Priced nicely, and no negatives whatsoever. This place is always packed for dinner, so we were glad that on a Wednesday we were able to waltz in for luncheon. A must do when on island.

Our excitement increased as we entered the…read morerestaurant and were met at the door by 2-3 maître d's, one of which welcomed us and proceeded to gush that we were in for a truly special meal: a Michelin starred chef, fresh, local ingredients and unique dishes & flavors. I wish I could write a glowing review, but in all honesty, I cannot do it. The entire experience was a let-down. The serving staff is clearly hired for the season; they struggle to describe the menu; there is no sommelier available and our server looked like a deer caught in headlights when asked a simple question about the sweetness of a Riesling on offer; the food was trying so hard, but was poorly executed and under seasoned. I ordered risotto with chanterelles, asparagus and fresh greens: what arrived was bowl of bland, soupy rice that somehow managed to be both mushy & undercooked. Two of our party ordered the halibut which was so doused in unnecessary accoutrements that this delicate, wonderful fish was lost (and also slightly overcooked), the last member of our group ordered "a Greek preparation" of lamb that arrived like a gummy block of scrapple (today, we noticed it had been pulled from the menu, thank goodness!). It was practically inedible. The two starters were passable, but nothing to write home about and, needless to say, we opted to skip dessert. The bill for this meal was hefty and didn't deliver in any way. The only positive moment was when we asked for the excessively bright lighting to be dimmed down (we were blinded) and we were kindly accommodated. Long story short: unless American Seasons does some serious reflection on how their marketing & describing the experience here, skip it. You're better off with fried clams at a shack.

This is in stark contrast to every other restaurant we've to in Nantucket, which have been small with tables packed pretty close together. Even with sports on the tv and people at the bar, you can talk at a reasonable volume here and not overhear everyone else's conversations. The shishito peppers were nice, fish and chips exactly what you'd hope for, and Guinness is on tap, which I can never resist. Lobster mac and cheese left something to be desired on the cheese front, but the lobster was nice and tender. And the service is always friendly. This is not a place that will blow anyone's mind, but I have never had a bad dish here. Still my favorite place for dinner on Nantucket.

Well, I love that they have those daily specials. Wing night/ bottomless pasta night, Friday fish and chips, steak night, and more. I usually don't even participate in the special (except for wing night because it's wing night, duh.) but I love that you can get a steak for a reasonable price. I'm more likely to order the fish sandwich, which I've had two or three times from Crosswinds. And yes, I would get it again! I usually get it with sweet potato fries because once you throw some salt on there, they are delicious. Last time, our waiter even brought me two containers of tartar sauce. He knows what the people want. That is another thing I love about Crosswinds: that one waiter. I always know I am going to be well-served if he is taking care of my table. My cup will never empty, he will keep it topped off. Any request will be granted and granted promptly. He makes friendly conversation but it is not too much. He will crack a joke that's funny but not over the top. So balanced! I had a different waiter once, and I'm not sure if it is a coincidence but we had to wait forever for our food. I am pretty patient, but it was a very long time to wait. The place was not even that busy... not sure what happened but it was only once. Also, warning! The pasta on their entree menu is quite spicy. I've been sticking to the fish, but in time I will branch out again, there is a flatbread calling my name. I also love that Crosswinds is conveniently located inside the airport and that there is plenty of parking. I also love that I will soon be living within walking distance to Crosswinds, so maybe I will finally go try their breakfast, or one of those delicious pastries at the counter...
