Chirashi
Heihachiro K.

We got the chirashi bowl to go and it was fantastic. The fish was super flavorful with a great variety and really fresh quality throughout. Definitely worth the $40 -- honestly a ton of food too. Great takeout option if you're craving good sushi without the full sit-down experience.

Diamond Head Roll

Furasoto sushi was amazing! It is a cute little spot located in Waikiki. We visited on a Tuesday evening, and didn't have to wait to be seated. The staff was all very friendly and polite. I ordered the Diamond Head roll and it was some of the best sushi I've had! I will definitely be back.

One reason we absolutely love Hawaii is the fresh seafood, and our first visit to Furisato did not disappoint! We ordered the Waikiki Bridge, which came with 16 pieces of sushi rolls and 12 pieces of sashimi -- salmon, yellowtail, and tuna. Each bite melted in our mouths. For the quality and portion size, it was totally worth the price. We also enjoyed the hot sake, which had a light lychee flavor -- not too sweet, just perfect for our taste. The restaurant itself is quite small, so be prepared for a possible wait to get a table. The atmosphere, however, was pleasantly balanced -- not too loud or crowded. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and even the bathrooms stood out with their beautiful décor and cleanliness. Overall, a wonderful dining experience -- fresh seafood, great service, and a cozy Hawaiian vibe.

Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The sushi tasted high quality, the portions were generous, and every dish we tried felt carefully made. The service was friendly and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. Easily one of our favorite sushi spots in Hawaii, and we'll definitely be back.

Went in for a drink and a couple pieces of nigiri. After having the salmon and the shrimp nigiri, I needed more... asap! I ended up ordering the golden c combination right after. I was left alone to enjoy my time to self, but whenever I looked up, the service was quick to acknowledge my wandering eyes. I'd say very attentive.

The sushi was amazing! It was just what I was hoping it would be. I found this place just walking down the street. I was shocked how small it is! We put our name on the list and only had to wait about 15 minutes. It is decorated parsley but authentic. The staff was very nice.

This restaurant is very close to our hotel in Waikiki. We walked past a few time and saw a lot of people inside and they do not accept reservations so we thought we are out of luck. Turns out during weekday lunch time it's not as busy, we went and got seated in just 5 minutes! Being a tourist on Waikiki beach, it's actually surprising to us to find out the meal price on their menu are rather reasonable, we ordered two set meals and they came quickly. The sushi chefs are very friendly and professional, greeting all the customers. The food are fresh and delicious. Have to give them a high mark for this.

Uni nigiri
Marie M.

Extremely fresh sashimi and Japanese uni was meltingly delicious. Very reasonable for Waikiki. The place is small, and no reservations, go early or late to avoid long wait. Is definitely on my list of places to return on my next trip.

Green tea

Walked in and sat at the counter. This place is very small but looks to turn tables quickly. It was been around for a long time and has locations all around the world. Sushi was very fresh. They also had toro which was exciting. We paid $15 per piece. The green tea was delicious! My one negative comment is the cleanliness. The back wall behind the counter was filthy. It makes me uneasy to see food/liquid crusted on a wall at a restaurant.

Otoro
Lorean W.

It really was by happenstance that I ended up grabbing a late lunch at Furusato and I'm so lucky for it! Every bite, and I mean every bite was stunning! The poké was fresh and crisp and cool, a perfect balm against the incredible humidity. But the real treat?! They had Otoro, fresh and available and ready for the taking! And we're talking of the utmost quality. It melted like room temperature butter on the tongue. Worth every single penny. My partner really enjoyed his eel bento as well! The service is impeccable, and the restaurant itself is quiet and peaceful, a lovely refuge from the hustle and bustle of the street just outside it's doors. I wish I could've eaten here every day of my trip and I'm not a restaurant-repeater usually! You must try it!

Diamond head roll
Siyi T.

A lovely Japanese restaurant located next to the busy Waikiki beach. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Monday evening and luckily there was no line. The menu offered a wide variety of rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and appetizers. We went with the diamond head rolls and TAKE (special sushi combination). Diamond head roll had lots of flavors: it came with salmon, Avacado, and spicy tuna, and topped with mayo and teriyaki sauce. The TAKE came with an assorted selection of nigiri and sushi rolls. The nigiri was fresh too! The food amount was pretty generous given the price and its location. Loved it!

Waikiki Bridge for 2 people
Laura C.

Very intimate sushi restaurant with great service and ambient! We ordered the Waikiki Bridge ($80) and the Chirashi ($37), both exceptional, fish was fresh and perfectly cut. We highly recommend this restaurant

Heather C.

We dream about this sushi place from California. The boat is the best way to go - the freshest fish and best combination. We LOVE the dragon role that's the best. I can't remember the name of the individual roll in the picture below but it had tempura shrimp. It was not the best pick honestly and ironically the most expensive roll. Wish we picked dragon roll again honestly . We also tried uni - very expensive but worthwhile for a fresh, unique taste

Food was great. Service was great. We had a hard time finding it though because it blends in with the rest of the building and storefronts.

We had a 7pm reservation that I booked through Yelp. We arrived a few minutes before our time, and was quickly seated in a "cozy" little table for 2. This place is crackin' though. It's loud and energetic. Mostly because it's a small little place down a side street on Beach Walk. The staff is super friendly, and the food is even better. I had the pork and shrimp katsu set, and my husband had fancy pork katsu set. We also had edamame to start. Everything came out sizzling hot and to perfection. I should also mention, this place is clean. The staff was constantly cleaning tables and menus. I'm giving Ginza only 4 stars because no one ever came to refill our drinks. I know it's such a small thing, but I accidentally ate some of the spicy mustard that was buried on my plate under the salad. My mouth was ON FIRE! I drank all my Diet Coke and my husband had already finished his drink too. So ya, I was dying...lol! Overall though, I would 100% eat at Ginza again

Very random one morning after stopping by kona purveyors in Waikiki, I went to the restroom and while my husband was waiting for me he decided to randomly check if they had any reservations available and we were able to get one for the next day! Getting a reservation is definitely the way to go, I've seen people wait in standby however seating is not guaranteed since they prioritize those who have a reservation. The service was amazing! They are constantly checking up on you to see if you need anything else. I like how they offer different kinds of miso soup. I personally had limitations due to my shellfish allergy, but it was amazing! The katsu we ordered was one of the biggest one that they offer. It's crazy how big the katsu was and surprisingly it was super crispy, light, and even juicy in the inside! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try katsu in hawaii!

The atmosphere and decor were great very warm and inviting and the service and overall vibe felt authentic. However, our experience with the food was disappointing this time. The tonkatsu we received was overcooked and slightly burnt, which gave it a bitter taste and made it hard to enjoy. For the price and reputation, we expected better consistency in quality. Overall, while we appreciate the ambience and understand why it's well-loved by many, this visit didn't meet our expectations, and it's not our favorite experience.

I've been to Mitch's a few times and when I saw that they opened up an Izakaya next door, I knew I had to try it and made a reservation on Yelp. Izakaya Mitch's specializes more in cooked dishes while the other side is more about the fresh / raw fish. But that didn't stop us from ordering the assorted sashimi. All the fish were from Japan and yes you can taste the difference. The fatty tuna was obviously my favorite but even the regular tuna and the hamachi was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. Plus, it comes with real wasabi. Not horseradish, real wasabi. For the cooked dishes we got the hokkaido crab tempura with a side of matcha salt. One of the best tempuras I've ever had. The kamameshi, a rice dish with their fish of the day. We got the half order and it's kinda like a bibimbap where they mix the rice for you at your table. I saw that people were raving about this on Yelp and put in our order right when we got in because it takes 25-ish minutes to prepare. On special, they had a karei karaage. Karei is a flat fish and I've never had a fish karaage before, it was perfectly fried and dipped in the ponzu sauce it was so good. The tai karaage was so tender and seasoned really well, the kamameshi is such a comfort dish, and the burrata with chilled tomato was really refreshing. One thing we all liked was that even though there were a lot of people in the restaurant (most came in after we ordered), we still were able to speak to one another without talking loud. The staff mentioned that they will be getting a sushi chef, so I guess we need to try this place again,

This place has been a staple for my family ever since we moved back to O'ahu a few years ago. Bottom line? The soba noodles here are utterly fantastic. They are, in my humble opinion, the best on the island, and some of the best soba noodles I've ever had. I don't think anywhere else in Honolulu comes close. You come here to eat soba. Period. In addition to the soba being phenomenal, the other offerings at i-naba are also similarly great. Their tempura in particular is outstanding. I typically order the Jumbo Shrimp Tempura Bowl & Soba or the Dx Tempura Bowl & Soba. Plus an upgrade to a large size soba! The tempura is sooo good. It's crispy, light, and airy. The jumbo shrimp is especially succulent and tender. And the ingredients are always perfectly seasoned with the sweet and savory house sauce. Yummmy!
