Parking can be hard to find as with most parking lots outside of an Asian supermarket. Furai Chicken is located in the food court on the left side of the supermarket when you walk in. There are tables you can sit down and eat at as well. Food-wise, I've only ever had the soy garlic chicken here but it is AMAZING. I literally crave this ALL the time. Wow best fried chicken in the area!! I'll be coming back to try their other flavors! Crispy, hot, juicy, flavorful fried chicken here. Not dry. Comes w complimentary pickled jalapeños and radish if you order the half or whole size chicken. Got the Soy & Garlic half (6pc I believe) size and it was absolutely delicious- sweet and savory/garlic-y. Also came w two slices of potato wedges in the flavor you choose! Gotta try! I went to this restaurant once for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. My siblings kept on begging my parents to bring them again. So we came back we came for lunch so it wasn't too busy and the place had some new decorations which were nice. I knew the chickens would be good but I was still absolutely amazed on how the chickens were. My favorite has got to be the soy garlic one. Call me a fatty, but i got this place on speed dial. They have the best fried chicken in the area. Located in Zion market and always busy, make sure you call and place your order 45 minutes ~ 1 hour. Their fried chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and doesn't taste very greasy or heavy. They have an assortment of dipping sauces and our favorites are the smoked soy and garlic jam. The food is on the pricey side, but well worth it. read more

While we were in line waiting for the korean hot dog place in the same food court, my bf wanted to try some korean fried chicken. He got sweet and spicy combo which had some drum sticks, wings, and breast. I absolutely loved the sweet and spicy sauce that the chicken came drenched in. It was really spicy but a good kind of spice. The chicken was steaming hot and fresh and the outside skin was crispy and flaky. It was so good! But my bf, on the other hand, did not enjoy the chicken as much. He said it just tasted like asian zing sauce from wingstop. I guess he has had better chicken. They are located at Zion market place where the food court is at. It gets super pack fast and wait times average over 20 mins. 4.5/5 on food. Sauce here is super delish. The Korean fried chicken here is among the better options in the City of Irvine. The food is not the problem in my opinion. The thing I cannot stand about this place is the silly way they go by placing orders. I put my order in online and they have pickup times for your food. It's fried chicken, it's hard for me to understand how they need to schedule food pickups. While they might get busy at times they do not seem busy enough to basically take 45+ mins to produce the items. This is a really good place to get Korean fried chicken. It's located in the food court at the Zion market. I went with the Volcano chicken since I like spice. Your order will take 15 minutes or so since everything is prepared fresh. My chicken was very messy since all the extra sauce was poured on top. It was finger licking good. I just wish it was hotter. They did say they could spice it up my next time if I wanted. I'll take them up on that offer. I saw a few orders where the chicken was dry but if you get the saucy chicken make sure to get napkins. read more

When I'm in Irvine this is the best Korean fried chicken spot! It's inside the Zion market and they do offer online ordering which is convenient but would ask they add garlic parm dry rub to the menu options. We ended up calling in part of the order since didn't know how to get that rub. They fry the chicken fresh so it's a bit of a wait recommend calling ahead of time or ordering online in advance expect 40 mins for weekends minimum. The online ordering system seems so wild west. You cannot specify a pick up time, so you're just at the mercy of how busy the store is and when your order will be ready. So I got the half/half order of soy garlic and Kang Jung and they were both amazing! Can't say much except I will never eat fried chicken again if they're not of this quality. The meat a juicy and yet crispy and yet crunchy...do be careful w some of them bone since they're so crunchy you might be chewing on them. I personally like the soy garlic better but my niece sworn Kang Jung is the way to go (she love those fried rice cakes pieces that I thought were garlic) Wish they're a big franchise! Finally a Korean Fried Chicken spot for the Northern Irvine folks. And a really good one at that. This is a perfect addition to the Zion market because you can place your order when you arrive and it'll be ready by the time you're done shopping. I tried the 1/2 original and 1/2 sweet & spicy chicken and found them both to be delicious. It seems like they use rice flour to give it a light crispy texture, while the chicken was cooked perfectly juicy and tender. The original is great on it's own, but they also offer several unique dipping sauces to make things interesting. I chose the smoke soy dipping sauce and it was really tasty, with a hint of sweet smokey flavor. They also give you the requisite radish on the side as well as pickled jalapenos, which I thought was a nice touch. The location is literally a small stall inside the Zion market, so all orders are for take out. But it's always nice to see a small local business like this, dishing out some good eats. One of the best Korean fried chicken in the area. The customer service is just phenomenal! It's in the food court area inside the market Zion on the left side. It does get busy and they do start crying the chicken as soon as you order so make sure you call ahead or place the order first before going grocery shopping. The sauces are amazing! My go-to sauces are the smoked soy and the garlic jam on the side to dip. Never had any issues with this place! Definitely recommend the wings! read more

I wanted something just dark meat. When I asked the girl behind the cashier if original was dark meat. She told me it's the whole chicken. So, I ended up ordering half of the original and 20 pieces of chicken wings. When I got home, it seemed the most of the original were all dark meat which was perfect! The chicken wings were really all wings, no drummettes. I also got Garlic Jam and Sweet & Spicy dipping sauce. Both were good sauce, however their original flavor was just as good. My only comment is it's a bit more battered than how we like our chicken. Hence, we enjoy popeyes or Jolibee fried chicken more than their version. The thigh was so dry I wasn't sure if I had bit into a bone or it was just overcooked meat. It was the latter. They legit have some of the best fried chicken in the OC area let alone being Korean Fried Chicken, and it's surprising that it's located inside a market instead of having its own restaurant. Now this isn't the place to get spicy fried chicken (like Howlin' Ray's, Cluck Kitchen, or Spice-C), but for just fried chicken, I can't really name any that can beat this. And compared to Love Letter Pizza & Chicken (which is also in a market in the DJ Plaza) that is made/cooked similarly, there's something that makes Furai better. Summary: must try!!! It takes a lot to impress me as someone who has been a foodie even before it became a thing. This assuming food stall inside Zion Market serves Korean fried chicken. For this trip I decided to try their fried chicken wing. And it's was delicious!!! The breading isn't oily and so airy that it is so delectable. They also give you dipping sauces to go with. Even without the dipping sauce it was good. If not sure or your first time trying Korean fried chicken I recommend ordering the 10 piece instead of twenty piece (though you may have wished you ordered more). One last thing, service was way above what I expected for a food stall. Irving was a really down-to-earth person who was patient and helpful as I asked questions about Korean fried chicken. Best kfc in OC! My favorite is their soy garlic wings. I've also tried the kangjung and sweet & spicy which are pretty good too. The chicken is always hot and crispy. Even though it's not drowning in sauce like other places. It's actually the perfect amount of sauce! Furai Chicken is the winner in our search for a new chicken spot since moving to Irvine! Albeit they were our first stop, but when you know, you know...right? The gentleman that took my girlfriend and I'd order was very friendly and informative, despite being very busy. Much appreciated. Juicy - if you take one thing from this review, let it be that. This place has the most delicious and juicy chicken. We order a half Soy Garlic and Half Original order of wings and the Rice Skewers. Pictures attached. Sorry for the poor quality photos, wasn't expecting to find such a gem that night The chicken wings, legs, etc. are not the small kind, they are much more traditional sized. I tend to stay away from that because I feel like there is a lot more gristle and inedible parts of the meat, NOT HERE. Furai must source chicken from a private resort, this chicken meat is juicy, almost gristle free and then treated and fried to perfection in the Furai kitchen. The rice skewers were equally awesome. I didn't know you get 4 pretty good sized ones on 1 skewer, so I order 3 skewers on accident...wish I would have gotten 5 after I tasted them haha. We will be back and telling our friends!
