There were two nail techs and both worked with patience. They didn't rush and I was very happy too leave without any cuts. The downside is more that I did have to wait quite a bit even though I had an appointment. The room really could use a cleaning when I was there, granted it was the end of the day. Inside in general is bare minimum so if you are looking for swanky, you will not find it here. Instead it's good price to quality, relaxation and I even watched a movie when I was there. Went to this place to get my nails, toes and eyebrows done for my wedding anniversary and he took time to make sure my nails were perfect and I've never had any nail salon to take such good care and he made sure I was happy with how things were going..he made sure the ends of my nails weren't sharp and did a wonderful job with the polish, and placing the studs on my nails!! While in NJ this week with some time to spare, I did a Yelp search for nail salons and Tara's was among the highest-rated in the vicinity. Several people mentioned calling first and that was solid advice - this is a small operation and only two people were working. I gave them a ring around 3 and they asked me to come in at 4, which worked for my schedule. There was a short wait time and then I was up for my pedicure. Unfortunately, the chair was wonky and I couldn't move the seat back or recline it at all. Not ideal since I'm fairly tall, but the massage function made up for that a bit. The woman who did my nails was friendly and, very importantly, gentle. I do not like for my cuticles to be cut on my hands at all and my request was honored. My services were very relaxing! I gave my nails a good twenty minutes to dry, but one of my nails smudged about ten minutes after I left. Two days later, I have also seen some chipping. I'm hoping the top coat I applied today can fend off any more. Overall, for the price, which was very reasonable, I'd consider booking there again if in the area. I had to get a gel manicure done in Jersey because I knew I wouldn't be able to go to my usual spot so after doing some research I decided to go to Tara's. As the other reviews state there are only two individual's who work here (not including the older woman who I believe is the owner's mother). So yes, please PLEASE make an appointment. I made my appointment for 5pm and was seated on time. The older woman wrapped and carefully removed my previous gel manicure. They do NOT use the trimming tool (which all of my gel bf's know is horrible for your nails) and I thanked them for using the old cotton ball + acetone trick. The manicurist (gentleman) who did my actual manicure was nice and my color came out great. If I had one complaint it would be that this place takes FOREVER. I was there for over an hour and a half and I just don't have that kind of time. There are no bells and whistles here. No amazing massage on the hands, no essential oils etc. Just a nice manicure. It's been a week and the manicure is still prestige (no chips etc.) If I HAVE to get my nails done in Jersey I'll go here, otherwise I'll stick with my go-to spot in the city. read more

This nails salon is located in a strip mall with ample parking, not that that is an issue in Cherry Hill :) I called ahead and they told me to come in 20 minutes. Calling ahead is almost mandatory in this salon, as there seem to be only 2 people working there. Pros- Nail technician is very careful and works slowly on your mani-pedi. They have a lot of colors for regular and gel manicures, even chrome nail selections. The price is very reasonable: Gel Manicure & Pedicure= $48 and Gel Manicure Removal= $5. You will not feel rushed. In fact, you will probably watch an entire movie by the time you are finished. My gel manicure was beautiful and stays on for a long time. Cons- I am used to the whole pampering ritual in Philly. You will not get the hot wax paraffin treatment on your heels, no hot towel for hands, no free mimosa or wine or coffee, no pedicure callus remover with grater, no leg scrub, no hand massage. You can't really come with a friend because there seem to be 2 workers. And the salon isn't some zen luxurious spa, beautiful salon. It bothered me a bit that there was no liner on the pedicure soaking tub (previous salon used plastic wrap) and the tools were not pulled out of sterile vacuumed bags. Nope. The first time I came was when they first opened. Even though I had an appointment, I waited for for over an hour before I was seen. They only had 2 people working. Fast forward to now. I decided to give them another chance. I was their first appointment so I didn't have to wait. I noticed immediately they were not up to speed on the latest trends & techniques. I got a gel mani & regular pedi. After 3 days the designs on my mani have partially rubbed off & my toe polish has chipped. My mother and I went to Tara's based on the the reviews on yelp. I must say this is an amazing salon. We came in with no appointment to get a full set for a wedding. We were told there was a wait but we didn't mind. When it was our turn we were so thrilled at how wonderfully courteous and professional Tara and Jimmy were to us. Jimmy is amazing and gave me the perfect stiletto nail. He was so meticulous in sculpting my nails. When I told him I wanted them more pointed he laughed and said OK! He even did a really awesome 3d nail art on just two of my nails to give it some visual interest and It turned out so pretty! Tara worked on my mother and was just as meticulous when completing my mothers set which was closer to the classic French. Tara painted her nails just the right color and took her time. We were both so happy with the services we received from Tara's. They do quality work and don't try to rush you out. When you sit down to get your nails done expect the best! First time at Tara's and I'm sure I'll be back! I wish I knew my nail tech's name because he was really terrific. I came in to get a gel refill and one tip replaced. My nails needed a lot of work and he didn't cut any corners. I'm really particular about the thickness of my nails and I've had people give me gruff for asking for them thinner, my guy today did them perfectly from the start and was very willing to make changes when I briefly questioned the thickness (I couldn't tell they were perfect already because there was still dust on them from shaving them into shape). And in the end, the price was more than fair for the quality of work! Regarding the mani/pedi situation: I didn't get either but I witnessed one of each while I was there and I think anyone would be happy and relaxed getting one. Also, I took notice that the place was really clean, which is comforting. And they played modern music, which I prefer to the classical or sound machine noises some places play. read more

i would never return to this nail salon! this place is really dirty. My pedicure was really sad. My toes barely soaked and when i asked the lady to make it warmer she made it colder. That pedicure lasted 20 minutes at most. My pedicurist kept pulling at my toenail and i repeatedly told her that she was hurting me she wouldn't stop and now my big toe is hurting and has been since. The manicure was way worse. She barely let my fingers soak and she aggressively pulled at hangnails which hurt me. The nail polish was applied sloppily and started chipping the next day. That wouldn't even be considered a manicure. She didn't even put lotion on my hands and there was no hot towel. What a waste of 35$ and i would never recommend this place to a friend! read more
