Seaside, Seaside, Seaside... I moved there when I was three, and if you grew up around that salty air and carnival glare, you know exactly what Funland means to me. My mom was a die-hard Ms. Pac-Man slinger back in the day, and my brother and I would burn through quarters like we were trying to keep the Oregon economy alive. The place still carries that old-school magic classic skee-ball lanes, the photo booth that's been snapping goofy faces for decades, and enough blinking lights to make a grown man feel like a kid again. Old games, new games bells ring, tickets sing, and nostalgia swings. Now these days your fun card works over at the rides too, and let me tell you something about those bumper cars. The track looks small... but those little devils spin, bang, and ricochet like a bar fight on roller skates. Fast, loud, and chaotic in other words, perfect. I always run a few laps there, but this trip I talked my wife into the Tilt-A-Whirl, that beautiful old beast that feels like it's been spinning folks silly since the 1920s. You know the one with the operator stick push forward and she flies, pull back and those cars start spinning like a politician dodging questions. By the time it really got going, we were holding on for dear life. I was laughing. My wife... not so much. Now I'll admit something bittersweet. Seaside isn't quite the little carnival town it used to be. They tore out the old roller coaster, a bunch of rides, and even that little snow cone shack at the end. These days it's more shops, more crowds, more folks than a church picnic on payday. But even with all that... Seaside still holds the crown on the Oregon coast. The beach cuts the wind just right, the Prom is perfect for a long walk, Broadway's buzzing, and the Turnaround still feels like the center of the whole show. So here's the rhyme and the reason, the simple seaside truth: Walk the Prom, hear the gulls cry, smell the salt in the air. Play some games, crash some cars, spin 'til you don't care. I purchased a $10, and somehow a recurring $-0 monthly charge was later added to my card without my knowledge or consent. Now I have to go through the hassle of disputing it with my credit card company. My husband and I absolutely love visiting Seaside, and every single time we're there--especially during the rainy winter months--Funland Arcade is our go-to place to unwind and just be kids again. There's something so nostalgic and comforting about stepping inside while the rain is coming down outside. The stress just melts away. We get completely immersed in our own little world, laughing, competing, and reliving that carefree high-school energy where nothing else mattered except having fun together. One of my favorite things about this arcade is that it's a full arcade, not just claw machines (which is a huge bonus for someone like me who is... not great at claw games ). Give me basketball shooting, zombie pucks, or any accuracy-based game, and I'm all in. For some reason, those games just click for me--the precision, timing, and rhythm always work out, and I can rack up tickets surprisingly fast. We loved the arcade here, there's various games available and plenty to choose from. We enjoy playing Mario kart racing and the claw machine where I was able to win 3 different stuffed animals. I also played various games and we just had a really good time here. It wasn't over packed and it had plenty of space. This is a fun place to visit on a rainy beach day. Although the arcade itself is insanely overpriced. We still spent lots of money because we like the atmosphere. As two adults without kids with us, we had a great time at this arcade! We've never seen the game Fascination before, but decided to play before we even really knew what was going on. It seems like an old school arcade/boardwalk game where you roll a ball down a table and try to light up your board to either 5 in a row or the full board for blackout games. We were here on a weekend in the winter and the fascination room filled up with players during a blackout game. It was a lot of fun! The rest of the arcade is filled with new and old games with typical prices (expensive). And the prize wall is filled with typical prizes (not great). There's not a whole lot to do in Seaside, but this a great place to kill some time or bring your kids, especially if the weather isn't great. read more

Took our 5 year-old grandson here on Thursday and he had such a good time we returned the next day. *Keep your card*: points accumulate on your card, and were able to redeem them for some trinkets on day 2. They have a surprisingly large assortment of games, not really targeted for age 5 but he found enough to do to have a good time. He did the bowling games and the "candy claw". The place is a little dark, but reasonably clean and almost all the machines were operational which in some arcades is not the case. The process for redeeming points scored was the only downside. You go to the counter, and fight for a spot in line with all the other customers. Check your point total on the card machines before getting in line so you can figure out which prizes you qualify for before it's your turn. FWIW we spent about $5/day, which I though was a cheap thrill. read more

Arcade in a beach town. Busy during spring and summer breaks. Not associated with Funland in Long Beach, WA. Pretty much the same games as any other Arcade...with on exception...FASCINATION! One of few Fascination parlors in the world still remaining. This makes this arcade better than any other. Two air hockey tables, sometimes the retractable doors are opened near the tables on nicer days. Also has a Fultano's Pizza inside--so definitely smells like pizza up in there. This arcade is in the heart of Downtown Seaside, filled with games, food, and prizes. The games are well spaced out, they have a good variety, and MOST were operational the day we went. The games themselves are a mix of newer and those on their last leg, the prices range from 1-2.00 per game and were mostly clean. We spent 20.00 a person and lasted about an hour and walked out with a handful of bad prizes. I would have liked if the prices were better or the prizes and if the remodeled the bathrooms. read more

We stay in Seaside for a week every year and love going to the arcade with our big family of 6 (Me, my wife and four children). This year, we went to do what we always do and you can imagine with six of us we spent lots of money on arcade games (literally thousands over the years)... we decided to move into the skiball style game (Fascination) where you have to roll the ball and get 5 in a row where you're competing against the entire room with an announcer. Usually the announcer makes it fun... But the lady on the mic started off super rude and aggressive to us for no reason. Almost like she had an issue with us for coming in and even sitting down. We apparently put our money in at the wrong time so didn't receive credit for games, and one of our machines was broken and kept eating our money. Got my money eaten by the machines repeatedly and she watched it repeatedly and let it happen without assistance. Then while one of the other nicer staff members realized what was happening she came over to help me. This seemed to upset the unhinged microphone wielder and she came over and accused me of cheating in front of my children. Newsflash, I wasn't. I told her "I PROMISE you didn't see me cheating". She responded "Yes I did sir". So, after getting my money taken by the machines. I was then called a cheater in front of my children and then called a liar when trying to defend myself by one of their unhinged staff members. So in short, I will never spend another dollar there. This happened yesterday and I'm still in shock. Don't waste your money there unless you like being falsely accused and insulted by staff. read more

Love this fun arcade! There are literally games for all ages. The "new" connect 4 basketball game is so much fun and a new favorite of mine. It's easy to get a game card, save it, and reload it the next time. Prizes are reasonably ticketed but it's playing the games that make it all worth it. read more

Even in our 60's w/out any kids along we still have a great time here! There are our old favorites as well as some new "hi tec" game we enjoyed watching young people (under age 40... LOL!) play. The two person shooting games were rather exciting and a nice couple let us hang out while they shot 100's of space aliens, we cheered them on... LOL! I liked the Zombie arm game and even snagged a "500" disk! The other players were kind and showed us some of the tricks to doing better at the games... LOL! We stumbled on the old-time tabletop bowling game room! How we missed this in the past, I do not know! There up to 40 people at a time for $.25 (cash only!) roll the rubber ball and try to make a bingo! They even had a "12 games for $1.00" at 6pm on Sat night. We played there two different days! It was fun to see some many different families out enjoying the games together. Some of them were getting food at the onsite, "Fultano's", Pizza/Sub+ more restaurant. It works well as they family members can eat and then go back to playing without leaving the building or going out into the rain or dark of night. The "Ten Tiny Tees Golf" that house Putt Putt Golf/Tilt a Whirl/Bumper Cars are part of the set and you may use your card in both locations. read more

Fun arcade for the kids to run around and burn off some energy before nap time. Went to their food court. Front had said about 15 minutes for our to go order. Ordered a Medium Popeyes pizza added Canadian bacon. Small pepperoni pizza. 4piece chicken strip with fries and a Mac and cheese that came with apple sauce and bread. Our first pizza came out on a plate not in a box. Than our pepperoni pizza followed. We waited for the rest of our order for about 5 minutes before going up there to ask and they had it all along in a bag. Pepperoni was meh. Popeyes was great Chicken strips were burnt , fries were soggy Mac and cheese tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese didn't mind it just was expecting more for price and not have a burnt garlic bread lol Point is I'll come back for the arcade and I'll make sure to eat somewhere else lol read more

Know the game before you play. I'm staying at the world mark and like many people come here to have a good vacation, and while at an arcade spend more money than the prizes are worth. You just don't think you will be be tricked when you go from the game to the redemption counter. There will always be games that have an advantage for the house, but when the rules are changed from the machine to the counter you have no fairness in even playing. My evening was done and I went happily up to the counter to redeem my two player cards for 50 tickets/point each. See photo 1 Oh wow! But the employee was that's not the two cards redeemable for individual points. She points to two cards, Aquaman and Darkseid. At least Aquaman was recognizable. Darkseid was a whole different artistic interpretation. So no points. I'm like wait where on the game does it say it has to be those two cards? Why play if it's only those two? These cards are thin and very difficult to drop most times the lock on the sides or float on the coins. I did better with the coins dropping. Before i had the manager go to the machine - another male employee went over and looked at the machines and none of them said they had to be these two cards. But also agreed that the group photo card prize was misleading. As you can only see the heroes card. The villain card is covered. when the manager finally came in, he was not ready to even listen to my complaint. The female employee had to address the manger 5 times that we had a problem. He didn't ask me what the concern was, something tells me know after the encounter he has had to explain this to several customers. He saw the cards on the counter. He said These cards in the picture aren't worth anything, unless they are part of the group. The cards in picture 1 are not worth fifty points for each super hero or villain player card. That is unless you the special cards of Aquaman or Darkseid. I also do not think this manager will actually honor Aquaman or Darkseid as the cards you can win tickets/points. Because The manager also informed me the owner has put the second series player cards for examples of Aquaman and Darkseid at the counter - and, the machines are loaded with the first series Aquaman and Darkseid. So if Funland wants to be technical, they do not even have the appropriate cards in the machine to honor the minimum 50 tickets/points to match as the card examples behind the counter. The manger will not agree to that any individual player card you may win is worth 50 points, because they example in the machine is Aquaman/Sarkseid (see pictures ) they have to be those specific players There are only 2 cards you can redeem for the next prize of 100 tickets/ points. The super hero/ or villain grouped photo. However, They do not even show on the game machine the villain group photo on the machine , you have to assume it's the card that matches behind the counter because of the red border. See photo 2 and 3 When you get the entire group of the yellow cards you earn 3000 points and the group of Villain red cards you earn 5000 points. And all of them 10,000 tickets/points. You also cannot redeem the coin/token for 5 points. So keep it as another worthless souvenir. I'm also warning you , the coin to tickets ratio is off. This place is not worth the fun and expense. I can't believe she even has such a wonderful work ethic when the manager used profanity and demeaning F word language about when she can go , ( either go home or go on break) it wasn't clear. This was a fun night, besides dealing with a manger that has no business in people business. The female employee was amazing, helpful. She would have done right by the customer to keep them coming back. And she even helped me after my encounter But seeing the other reviews and how the manager treats employees and customer it's a hostile work environment. I hope I did not cause any repercussion for the female employee by my demands on the game rules with the manger. read more

Well this was a childishly good time! My hubby and I came with no children to play some skee ball and compete against each other in some of our favorite arcade games. I kicked his tush at both skee ball and air hockey... but unfortunately he beat me badly at the basketball games! I was shocked... SHOCKED! Regardless, we had so much fun. The setup is nice with food at the entrance (a little pizza joint, by the looks of it) and then the games are right there for you to enjoy. You just get your point card at one of the easy to locate machines and you're all set! We did have two machines have issues but they were handled quickly. The selection is pretty good, with some games I really enjoyed that I had never seen before (the piano one especially). The prizes were alright but I wish the candy selection were for a lesser ticket amount. In any event, we got a really cute Seaside magnet for our fridge! I'd love to come back to Funland with a group next time we return to seaside. read more

This place has been around for a long time. It located on the main street promenade. Very busy during the summer and a great spot to stop at when you come to Seaside. Normally it so busy in the summer we dont get to stop by. But since we visited in February we got a spot on the popular game where you roll the ball and try to connect 5 in a row before everyone else. The game cost 25 cent and totally worth it. They have more modern games too like games at a Dave & Buster and look like they have a VR game set up as well and bumper cars and stuff. This was a great stop!!! My 16 year old daughter and I were traveling down the Oregon coast. We landed in Seaside for the night! It was a rainy cold night. So this was a perfect stop! They have something for all ages!! We both agreed it was the best time!! We played basketball connect 4!! Ski ball. The claw!! We actually got a lot of candy from the claw!!! So many other fun games!! However... the virtual reality roller coaster...we laughed so hard!!! I had to take my device away from my eyes at the top of the first hill!! Weak arcade. One classic game only, 4 pinball machines, two did not work and the others had no sound. Also one dollar for pinball as well as all the other games. It used to be awesome. Not anymore. If they loaded that place up with pinball and classic games it would be packed 365. Lower the cost to .25 to .50 for the games and you could do more business then you knew how to handle. There are so many games to play and a pizza palor inside as well! Fascination is my favorite game, in the center building. As only 25 cents a game, you can easily spend a lot of time. The staff cleans the balls between each person. They have tons of hand sanitizer and in addition to their normal cleaning will also wipe down any machine upon request. The only thing to watch is that it can take a long time to redeem your tickets if they are busy. read more

This has been our Christmas Eve or Day tradition for years now. They are open to 8 and the place is always busy since it's one of the few places open on the holiday. Beer and pizza are very yummy! A bit pricey but that's what to expect at one of these resort towns. They are now strictly enforcing the food to game line and you cant bring beer past the line. A bit of a bummer but understandable. They have a good variety of games with the majority of them being a dollar to play. That has slightly increased throughout the years and a lot of the games are not ticket ones. My partner got a mug with all the tickets we got and the running joke it's that it was a 8p dollar mug- the most expensive mug in the world! Still, a lot of fun even with the prices. read more

The kids love it! It's so much fun and always has fair prices! The prize counter has a load of fun trinkets and games to purchase using your accumulated points on a game card (don't throw away - there's no tangible tickets!) Some of the games here have easy-to-win jackpots and you can easily rack up points! My family's favorite game there is the Wizard of Oz coin pusher - a game where you collect tokens and cards! Green tokens are worth 20pts, red tokens are worth 50pts, and a card is worth 100pts! Collect 7 unique cards and you'll get 3K POINTS! (The Toto card is notoriously hard to collect - let alone find in a coin pusher!) Mentionable notes: There's a pizzeria named Fultano's are attached to the establishment - an easy way to grab a bite to eat! The game of Fascination is a room that hosts a game sort of like bingo, but you roll a ball and it lands in a hole that lights a lightbulb (5 in a row, column, or diagonal wins)! It's really cheap, only playing once costs 25¢! Cool fact: Fascination is one of the only ones (or the only one) left in the United States! Very fun and entertaining place to visit! read more

If you're going to own a Funland arcade in a tourist trap town like Seaside Oregon then you probably want to keep your amusements in working order! At least half of the games here are out of order. The place is huge and it doesn't feel like they utilize that space very well. I can imagine some cool themes and decorations that they could add to the place but then, It's not mine. Just to have the games working so that we could have played them would have made this review a lot better but alas, our visit was quite disappointing. They do have a pretty good selection of games to choose from but like I wrote, most of them are broken. They have a few midway type amusements too like skeeball and a horse racing game but the place just feels old and run down. The staff was nice and helpful when we couldn't get the ticket counting machine to print out or receipt. They have a concession area where you can get pizza or a slough of deep fried foods that you shouldn't ingest and beer. The bad thing is that you have to drink your beer inside of the corral. You aren't allowed to enjoy your brew whilst kicking some butt on The Fast and the Furious game. They have the latest and greatest Star Wars battle pod and that game is a blast! Too bad it costs as much as most new cars but that raises the question of... If they have money for such expensive games, why don't they have money to keep all of their other games in working condition? This place is one of the only places to go and entertain yourself in the whole town. Some people are there on a daily basis so I know that they are raking in the dough hand over fist. I just wish they would use some of that money to spruce up their business instead of whatever they use it for. Priorities I guess. If you visit Seaside, a stop into the Funland arcade is a must do but don't get your expectations too high. Thanks to this place we had a place to hide from the rain, became experts at police trainer, were called wimps by the punching machine, and found out alligator hitting is our life calling.
