    A Fascination Win!

Great space with the addictive game of Fascination! Always look forward to playing this when we visit Seaside. It brings back childhood memories and it's just a blast

This is a blast from the past for me. Being from Northeast Ohio, I played this growing up at Cedar Point. I was disappointed when they took it out and haven't played in years. It was nice to see that the price per game is still the same, a quarter. Only thing I didn't like, and other reviewers have stated it is that it's hard to play with regulars. One person on one particular machine won almost every game. I know that's not really the fault of the facility though, I remember the same scenario back when I was growing up. But, it did detract us from wanting to play more than 15 minutes or so worth of games. We felt that we didn't even have a chance. But again, it was nostalgic and fun and a cheap way to spend some time on a rainy day in Seaside.

I purchased a $10, and somehow a recurring $-0 monthly charge was later added to my card without my knowledge or consent. Now I have to go through the hassle of disputing it with my credit card company. I strongly recommend avoiding this place, or at the very least, paying cash and closely reviewing your receipts and statements.

Seaside, Seaside, Seaside... I moved there when I was three, and if you grew up around that salty…read moreair and carnival glare, you know exactly what Funland means to me. My mom was a die-hard Ms. Pac-Man slinger back in the day, and my brother and I would burn through quarters like we were trying to keep the Oregon economy alive. The place still carries that old-school magic classic skee-ball lanes, the photo booth that's been snapping goofy faces for decades, and enough blinking lights to make a grown man feel like a kid again. Old games, new games bells ring, tickets sing, and nostalgia swings. Now these days your fun card works over at the rides too, and let me tell you something about those bumper cars. The track looks small... but those little devils spin, bang, and ricochet like a bar fight on roller skates. Fast, loud, and chaotic in other words, perfect. I always run a few laps there, but this trip I talked my wife into the Tilt-A-Whirl, that beautiful old beast that feels like it's been spinning folks silly since the 1920s. You know the one with the operator stick push forward and she flies, pull back and those cars start spinning like a politician dodging questions. By the time it really got going, we were holding on for dear life. I was laughing. My wife... not so much. Now I'll admit something bittersweet. Seaside isn't quite the little carnival town it used to be. They tore out the old roller coaster, a bunch of rides, and even that little snow cone shack at the end. These days it's more shops, more crowds, more folks than a church picnic on payday. But even with all that... Seaside still holds the crown on the Oregon coast. The beach cuts the wind just right, the Prom is perfect for a long walk, Broadway's buzzing, and the Turnaround still feels like the center of the whole show. So here's the rhyme and the reason, the simple seaside truth: Walk the Prom, hear the gulls cry, smell the salt in the air. Play some games, crash some cars, spin 'til you don't care. Drop a few bucks, laugh all day, let the good times expand Because a trip to Seaside just ain't complete... without a little time at Funland. Five stars. Still the king of coast-town fun.

While the miniature golf was great as usual, there was way too much grease on the surface where the cars were on so it made it unusually difficult to even get in a few laps or bump others as there was very little gripping of the surface. Plus there was considerable grease on the steering wheel which also contributed to difficult steering. We hadn't experienced this under the former ownership, which I believe was a family operation. While it brought back memories, just sliding around w/o control due to too much grease makes us wonder if it's worth coming back. Hopefully the new owners read reviews and take notes as to what is good and what needs improvement.

YAY Taking my kids here is like passing on great childhood memories directly to them. I think my daughter and I rode the tilt-a-whirl 40 times this weekend and at $2.50 a person its not cheap. I understand they are only open for a short season and they have to make some money while the windows open. The ONLY negative thing I have to say is that the attendants aren't very friendly. They make grunting noises and point a lot. I understand the employee pool in a small town runs shallow but come on, you can find someone who would a least show they half way enjoy their job. This is an amusement ride already. GET AMUSED!
