Look at this treasure at the end of the rainbow!

My husband and I have been bowling on league here for several years. It is a bigger bowling alley, however it is arranged in a manner that separates leagues from the party center. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Also, the brisk air from their top notch air conditioning is greatly appreciated on hot summer days. League bowlers get an assorted of valuable coupons every month, along with excellent bowling discounts. I don't want to forget to praise the pro shop, which has a great selection of reasonably priced bowling balls and shoes. Will did a great drop drilling our bowling balls!

I like this place for bowling and arcade games, but I have to say they have really good drinks. My group would come here just for the appetizers and drinks especially "la Cancion". Call me weak but after the 2nd one I have reached my limit. Service is always superb even when busy. Inside is very clean and always full of laughter. Fun place to go.

Created my own tacos from the South of the Border catering menu.

Thus far, I've only been here twice, and both times primarily for a work event. So technically I cannot review things based on cost and value. But so far so good, I'd say! Here's some info about this modern bowling alley called KingPins: : Parking Situation : Two choices, park in the front where the spaces are wider and normal. But keep in mind it's shared with the other shops and restaurants that it can get packed. Or park in the garage behind KingPins, only the spaces are crammed and NOT normal in size. It's like every space is compact. Or bring your Tesla and you can charge at a Supercharger. Which is also in the garage. :: Bowling Lanes & Layout :: From the main entrance, you immediately see the arcade area for the kiddos to go play. Give them a FunCard and they'll be on their way to insta-gratification! They even have a few VR games and a LaserTag arena. From the rear entrance, from the garage, you'll be in the general lanes area where anyone can reserve a lane. Besides the arcade is another set of lanes, in which they are primarily used for large groups or company events. I believe the bowling leagues play on this side as well. This side is better because it's also where the bar is, called TapHouse. There are plenty of tables and chairs, and for the most part they've been clean. ::: Food & Service ::: Thus far, no issues with service. At the counter where you borrow shoes, the staff behind there have been welcoming and helpful. As far as the wait-staff at the bar area, they too have also been pretty cordial. Regarding TapHouse and the food menu, in which I've only had tried what catered. They sell company party catering packages, and I gotta say the food really isn't that bad at all. The cocktail drinks however are super expensive. Two drinks easily $24 to $28, not including tip. Yep, a $13 average. Specialty beers on tap, about half the average. :::: Overall :::: KingPins is definitely "family oriented" in my opinion. Gone are the days of old stinky smokey bowling alleys. Keep your kids busy bowling or entertain them in the arcade. For the most part, I've had fun bowling here, and I really don't mind it here at all. This location has been open for quite some time, but it still appears new I would say. Service was pleasant, and the food/drink options are decent. Just be aware mixed drinks can be pretty pricey. Now go smoke a bowl!

Went here on a Saturday night with a group of friends and had a blast! One of our friends reserved two lanes ahead of time as Saturday nights can get busy. The atmosphere is fun, especially when the bowling alley turns into cosmic bowling. There is also a huge arcade room. We ordered tater tots, fries, nachos, and pitchers of beer for the entire group. The serving size is huge! It's typical food that you can get at a bowling alley, so no complaints there. Service was quick. The bowling screen was interactive and unique. All in all, it's a fun place with lots to do. A great spot for big groups, events, or just a fun night out for both adults and kids.

This spot is THE place for cost effective happy hour. Ironically we didn't go here for bowling or the arcade, literally just the happy hour, and I was very impressed. The drinks were reasonable ($4-$8 range), and the snacks were as well! Worth noting, it's a bowling alley.... So the atmosphere isn't exactly intimate. But it's not bad!

I have said that I am not a fan of King Pins. I don't really like bowling on a timer. They did have a 23.99 "video" games, bowling and laser tag pass. I actually thought that we would have to pay for the bowling shoes, but turns out that they were included as well. That was a big bonus. We played a lot of pop a shot, Skee Ball, and my son and daughter did a few rounds of Lazer Tag and VR. We also bowled a couple games each. The video games are weak though. Understandable that due to the promotion no tickets or prizes were awarded...for video game enthusiasts I highly recommend Next Level Pinball Shop and Museum. Excellent value with in and out privileges as well. However there was value in this deal and we had a good time

HOLY. SWEET. SISTER. MARY. FRANCIS…read more This place is... AWESOME. A couple buddies went with me from Eugene to Hillsboro to primarily check out this place. We are very pleased that we did. Upon pulling in, we worried, because the parking up front is sparse. There is, however, ample parking around the back. You have to hoof it a bit once to you do get parked, but they have enough room for everyone. There are food trucks outside - one with pizzas and others with chicken basket kinds of items. There are other small buildings around the main, large one. I am not sure what all is in those. One of them in the back has a bunch of claw machines. The others may be museum places and we didn't check those out. Once inside the main building, you get a wristband that allows you to play all day for $23. There is a small section of ticket/claw machine kind of games, but the vast majority of the 690 games are free to play arcade machines. Now, I have a multicade at home. I can play a lot of arcade games, but even with 12,000 games on my machine, there are a lot that I don't have. This place has many of the ones that mine doesn't (not all - but most). And it has 300+ pinball machines. When my friends and I first walked in, I went into a U-shaped area and spent 45 minutes playing a couple old racing games a bunch of pinball machines. They have pinball machines I've never heard. Lots of them that I have never heard of. My machine doesn't do pinball and I'm terrible at them, so I rarely play, but when they are free, I played a whole bunch! Beyond pinball, there was a skeeball area, several different driving games - including 3 different 4-person sets of Mario Kart, but they were always full with people that didn't one round and move on, they would play for 40 minutes straight and hog the entire thing. We never got to play Mario Kart since it was perpetually taken. We did get in on some other driving machines by luck. There was a Star Wars area with Star Wars games, there were old school and new school arcade games. There was one where you pull your guy up a mountain by pulling on a rope. A VR game, lots of shooters, and it is big enough that I lost my buddies a couple times and it took 3-4 minutes to figure out where they were playing. We were there for 5 hours an in no way had a chance to remote play everything. We wouldn't have had a chance to play all of the pinball machines solely (even though I suck at them and my games go pretty quickly) if that was all I was there to do. They did have a couple couches here and there and with all the standing in front of machines, your back and legs can get tired. There is a U-shaped area to bring your food from the food trucks inside to eat. Far too much to see and do in this place. I should note that it is very loud. If you have autistic children, they may struggle here. Noise cancelling headphones may help, but my voice was starting to go after the 5 hours because you have to be pretty loud to be heard over all of the games and the people inside. This place is epic. It doesn't have everything (I would have loved to have played Elevator Action, but they didn't have it), but it has soooo many games. And if pinball is your thing, you'll think you died and went to heaven. You really have to start early and somehow stay all day to get through sections of the establishment and even then, you'll have to come back again and again to finish playing the rest of the titles. I wish they had a method of moving people along for the popular driving games so people didn't just camp there for the majority of an hour, but there was plenty else to do so it is by no means a deal breaker. Even if you have arcade machines at home - or a multicade like mine - you need to see the epicness (that's needs to be a word) of Next Level Pinball Museum!

Despite the confusion, the staff was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. $2 bowling, $2 shoes and $2 laser tag on Wednesday, a deal you can't beat. I typically rate businesses very positively (my average score over 500+ reviews is about a four)…read moresince running any business ain't easy. I see Yelp reviews as a way to help customers (i.e., know before you go) & a means for shops to promote their business. That's why it pains me to give low ratings UNLESS something is egregiously wrong. Prior to or maybe during the pandemic, businesses were hurting so we did our part to help shops by buying gift cards to their establishments. This propped up a few local restaurants we know of but unfortunately, the $100 of "Sweet Tomatoes" (healthy buffet chain) gift cards became worthless when they went out of business. Similarly during COVID, folks weren't going out to game or bowl so we bought gift cards to Big Al's and Superplay. We're still using our Big Al's gift cards. Unfortunately, when we recently stopped by Superplay for some bowling, they said they stopped honoring these gift cards and their "system" couldn't even recognize these cards. We never ever received any word/notification that Superplay gift cards were no good. Basically, almost $100 up in smoke. If a business goes bankrupt, loss of gift card value is understandable. But when doing a good deed (buying gift cards during down times) results in losing you $s even when the business is still running, that just feels like a rip-off. If I could give a zero rating (actually a minus 1 since I'm minus about $100), I would, but "1" is as low as Yelp allows. Superplay......please do better. And word of warning, think twice before purchasing gift cards cuz companies can go bankrupt or can simply decide not to honor them (Superplay)!

We ordered a Root 84 classic for the time being as we weren't sure if we were going to order anything else as we were stuffed. But they had a sweet deal going on Sunday which was $5 pizza slices or $6 for their pizza of the week. Additionally, they had karaoke about to start when we had arrived. We couldn't stay for that as well as we drove from Washington and were very tired, but my boyfriend said he would be so down to go back on a karaoke night to sing some of his favorite 80s songs. I loved seeing all their different 80s arcade games as I have never seen any of those games as I was born in 1993 so it was really cool to see some early arcade machine designs as well as the pinball machines too. They operate on a card system, so no coins needed when you visit. My pinball wizard friend had been traveling arcade ready with coins in her bag, but it turns out they weren't needed. Ground Kontrol supplies free lockers to store your stuff; just follow the instructions and don't forget your code. I learned a lot about pinball during my visits here, and played more pinball than I usually do because of that. I mean, why not? I played one of the newest pinball games, released within weeks of my visit, which was Pokemon themed, and I played one of the more vintage pinball machines, Xenon. And everything in between! It was awesome. $20 loaded onto a card will get you 15ish games, but there is a different cost depending on which game you're playing. I was satisfied with the value and would, and did! come back again. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!
