The grass did not appear to have been freshly cut, no fresh mulch and there were some dead bushes near the areas where guests would be attending near the front of the building. The building was wedding ready and everything was functioning well! The day of manager was great to work with and all vendors appeared to know the venue well. The guests also loved the old feel of the building and it gave such a nostalgic and magical theme. Our family will always remember this day at the Old Schoolhouse with such fondness!

As a woman of Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) and Greek parents, I was truly excited to see this production. It was well publicized on social media, so I shared out and encouraged friends to join me. It's opening weekend, and I attended the Sunday matinee to attend the opening speech given by Nimiipuu artist, Kellen Trenel, responsible for costumes and set design. His talents stem from generations of traditional beadwork, weaving, and design. The collage of personal, familial, and upcycled modern pieces were evident and truly added a special touch. The setting is small and intimate, but if I'd offer any suggestions, it would be to provide a mic for any Q&A. The story was comedic at times, and made you pause to really absorb the message. The ending packed a punch and brought tears to my eyes! Hats off to all who were involved in bringing this moving play to the area. Hillsboro is a beautiful town that I've not visited, but am glad to have had the opportunity to see more of the region.

My office is in Hillsboro and I live in Beaverton so this is truly a perfect location for me to see a show. The location is also grand when you consider how many great spots are available for getting food before the show or late night places for after the show. The parking is not ideal, especially if you have mobility issues. The parking is also not horrible - you will likely be a few blocks away so you are going to want to plan accordingly. Downtown Hillsboro does become a ghost town after 7pm so you can leisurely walk back to your car after the show. When you walk into the space it seems fairly small based on the lobby. This is just where you check in and grab some wine. The theater itself is a nice layout although you will want to be mindful to go to your right and sit far right if you are in need of a restroom a lot or else you may get stuck. There is not a bad seat in the house from what I could see. The stage and audience seating proximity is pretty perfect and the theater has a very open feel to it so I never felt cramped or like the air was stagnant etc. This is just a great place to see something unique. If A Clockwork Orange is any indication of the quality of shows put on at the Vault - I can't wait to see another show here.

We stopped by Sunday afternoon and parked, fairly empty lot, planning to take the longer unpaved trail and knowing virtually nothing about the estate. When we ended up back at the estate we were very pleasantly surprised. The unpaved trail was just okay, but the grounds surrounding the estate are so lovely. Little paths everywhere, sweet garden areas, a large green yard, and beautiful trees. Looked like there was a lot more to see next visit. Really a fantastic estate. Seems like a fabulous place for an event and definitely an enjoyable spot to wander on a lazy afternoon.

I recently celebrated an anniversary party for my parents with a party of 40 people. I was…read moreinitially concerned because of excessive heat of over 100 degrees and with parking. Everything turned out wonderfully. It was too hot to use the outdoor area, but inside the ballroom was very cool and comfortable. I had asked a few families to carpool and we all were able to park our cars. The tables and chairs I rented from the manager were in excellent condition and chairs were very comfortable. I had many guests comment on how much they liked the place. We all enjoyed the beautiful dance floor and my dad played his music collection on the sound system and we enjoyed looking at family photos on the tv screen. My organization has used Hidden Creek for several years now, and when we started working with them,…read morethey were adjustable and easy to work with. However, we had our annual event this year at Hidden Creek and the experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. First of all, they're very strict about anyone even entering the building before the time designated as the starting time. I don't expect them to open the doors of the banquet hall before the starting period that we paid for, but they wouldn't even let us in the building. They would not let us bring any of our materials into the building, and they told us we were not allowed to even unload our materials outside of the door so that once the door to the building opened, things would be unpacked and ready to set up. I was told it was a safety matter, but the materials we unpacked were not in front of the door, but well to the side of the entrance. They enforce those rules very strictly and in a manner that is not particularly friendly. Earlier this year, we held a different event at Hidden Creek, in other words different than the annual event I'm writing about, and they wouldn't even let us look into the room we had rented until the time began that we had paid for. They said that the room was down a hall we hadn't paid to enter, so we were not allowed to look in the room. The facility itself is beautiful, light, spacious, and well appointed. But that does not make up for their overly stringent regulations. For example, in the event I planned, we had to add some speakers to our program, so I asked if I could extend our time by half an hour so we could clean up in time. But they would not allow us to add time, even though I had made that request well before the day of the event. It was not a last-minute request, and, as indicated, I was aware there would an extra charge for an extra half-hour. So I thought we'll just clean up faster (which we did). But unfortunately, our caterers, who were P.F. Chang's, were very late in setting up the lunch, in fact, 45 minutes late, so we had to start our program late. But even with all of that, we worked very fast and managed to finish the cleanup by just half an hour after the time had expired for us to be there. They had no other event after us, and so we did not inconvenience them. Further, there is no indication on the papers that I signed before the event that there was a late fee if we exceeded the time we were in the room. All the paperwork says is that there's a $250 damage fee. But there was no damage to the hall. I'm not arguing that there should have been no fee for leaving the venue late, I just feel that when the total price for each hour is $150, and we reserved the hall for five hours, that it is exorbitant to charge $250. I requested a reduced fee, especially because our lateness was due to our caterer being so late, which PF Chang's recognized and compensated us for, but I got a solid No. They said the contract stipulates a late fee, but as indicated above, that is not true, it stipulates a damage fee. The director of events at Hidden Creek is lovely to work with. She has always done everything possible to make our experience a good one. And I do not hold her responsible for the stringency of the regulations. I am merely saying that the whole issue of charging so much money for being there 30 minutes extra to clean up, especially when the reason our event went late is because our cater was late, is unconscionable. I recommend selecting a different venue for your event unless you want to jump through numerous hoops only to be dissappointed, frustrated and overcharged in the end.
