Hi there. Mr. Kinney was a terrific help to me in this shop and knew just where to locate the…read moreissues I needed for the exhibit the Art Association of Oswego is hosting this weekend. I've added the press release below and hope the comics community turns out and enjoys the show. What a great resource and fun place to shop! Thx again! Suzanne Gaffney Beason Former Marvel Comics Editor and Director of Editorial Scheduling for DC Comics For immediate release... On Saturday, August 12th from 7 to 9 pm a reception will be held for the opening of a new art exhibition at the Art Association of Oswego. The exhibition, by Suzanne Gaffney Beason, is titled My Life in Comics / My Life in Art. Part of the show is a display of Ms. Beason's personal collection of original drawings by well-known comic artists from her days at Marvel Comics, where she was assistant editor to high-profile comics such as Spider-Man and X-Men. Also on exhibit will be original prints and drawings from her current work as a graduate student in SUNY Oswego's Master of Arts program in Studio Arts. This includes both figurative work and highly abstract explorations of color, shape and texture. According to the Art Association's exhibition coordinator Bill DeMott, "As an undergraduate at SUNY Oswego in the 80's, Suzanne got a fantastic education, one that took her to New York City to work for the likes of Robert Blackburns' Printmaking Workshop NYC, Marvel Comics, Reader's Digest, Pearson Education and eventually DC Comics. But when DC moved to California, she made the brave decision to return to Oswego to pursue her first love, fine arts. Her current work is stunning and in her new art one can see all the knowledge gained from years of working with figures and bold abstractions. We welcome Suzanne and her husband Kirk to this community. Their energy and enthusiasm for art--and for music--are truly refreshing." The reception for this exhibition is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. The exhibition will run until Sunday, August 27th. Regular gallery hours are from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sundays or by appointment. Group tours can be arranged. The Art Association of Oswego is located at the northernmost end of East 4th Street in Oswego, directly across from historic Fort Ontario. The Art Association' galleries are housed in the Oswego Civic Arts Center along with the Frances Marion Brown Theater. The phone number for the AAO is 315 216-6782. Their website is www.oswegoart.org.

I've been a gamer and comic fan for over 20 years and this place is a staple in the Syracuse gaming…read moreand comic community that everyone knows. I really like how they have such a wide selection of comics and MtG cards but I do not like their prices. Just an example, all their rares are at least $2.00 for a base price. Even if the card is literally worth only a quarter, they still want $2.00 for it. Or recent comics that have no real value like from the 90's, that are worth maybe a dollar on a good day, they want like 3-4 dollars for them. Their board game selection is amazing and I love how they have weekly tournaments for several different types of card games. And a tip, if you don't see what you are looking for, ask one of the staff members, they do have comics that are not on the floor and they will try to accommodate you and find what you need. All in all, it's a bit pricey but it's a great gaming/comic shop. Check it out!

There is a large space for gaming with tables chairs and even board games to play. They have a couple snacks for sale, I noticed as well. The man behind the counter was very nice and even opened a box of dragon sleeves to show me that they weren't hard to see through! Prices are a little high when compared to other stores/online, but you pay for convenience.
