Soothing jazz was playing, the antique rugs made everything feel welcoming. There are several rooms full of used books in various categories. Everything was labeled and easy to navigate. They also have tables of used records and shelves of movies. This is the kind of analog, community-based place that so needs to exist in today's world. I hope it's always here in Syracuse.

The sisters that own this spot have a podcast, as well, and discussion felt like record stores of decades long since gone. (Don't tell me that 1998 was 26 years ago, I don't want to hear it, and that's before most of the likely customer were even born.) Speak up about what you're finding and you'll have a great conversation about records that are in the store's bins, what's in your collection and what's in theirs. The staff is helpful, but not intrusive, so you don't feel pressured to buy anything. Plan on at least a half hour if you want to get a good idea of what they have, but know that 'it might not be there' next time, unless you do buy it. Prices are fair to on the high side, so ask if they can do better.
