MicroGame is a small retro videogame haven in Clay, NY that's in the same plaza as Wrap-It-Up so you know I've been there a few times while I waited for my food to be ready when they were closed to seating. This store has it all! All kinds of merch, plushies, wall posters, CDs, video games from every console new and old. They have deals like Buy 2 get 1 at times as well! They even sell items like Gameboys that work perfectly to play those old titles you may still have lying around. They even have Gachapon machines!! They are constantly getting in new items, so make sure to watch on social media or go in because you'll find some cool stuff there. The store itself could be a little better organized and less cluttered, but that just shows how much stuff there really is to find there. It's the best local game store in Syracuse. They always have events and tournaments and are a proverbial light rod for all the gamers in the area. Some people may complain about the layout but the stock is impeccable and has one helluvah high turn over. I've SEEN SOME REALLY UNIQUE STUFF. You always see something new. If you take the time to ask any of the people who work there they WILL find you what you need or are looking for. I've come to see twitch announcements, game reveals, hot ones set tournaments(photo below), or to just hang out with another customer to play a few rounds of def jam fight fight for NY! Others may be Booty Tickled that employees talk to friends, locals, and new people within the area....we'll THATS HOW YOU BUILD A LOCAL BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY. We discovered this store accidentally while searching and decided to check it out. The store definitely has some great stuff. Prices were fair. The store has an odd layout and there was stuff all over. We had a hard time looking at some of the cases because an employee was having a lengthy conversation with several people (another employee and friends) and we just couldn't get them to move fully out of the way. When they did, they moved to another inconvenient spot. We eventually gave up, but we will check back again. This place is worth your visit. read more

I wish I knew names here... but the guy with the longer black hair is extremely friendly and the other guy might be one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I purchased something yesterday and it did not work for me. I returned today to try and return it and before even asking what happened or anything barks at me "we don't do refunds on used items." Very welcoming, thank you sir. After explaining I purchased this item for a very specific reason and explaining I talked to an employee the day prior who did not raise concerns about it being compatible. He then proceeded to call the employee and ask him if this interaction occurred basically calling me a liar?? Then proceeded to check online to try and prove me wrong! What the hell kind of customer service is that?!? This was hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had and I will not be ever returning here and I've been shopping at MicroGame since I was probably 5 with every birthday and Christmas money I received. I love to support local and try to every chance I get but not when you have such a buffoon like this guy running the show. I'll be going to gamestop from now on. I love these guys. They know their stuff and have a great selection. They usually have all the Wii stuff that everyone wants, but everyone else is sold out. They also guarantee that they will meet or beat anyone's prices on that kind of thing so it is worth checking out. They have a sidewalk sale a couple times a year that can allow you to get some really good deals on used games. You need to be careful though since not all the used games are worth the prices. read more

Just discovered these guys (I'm on the other end of town) and so glad I did. What an amazing little place full of video gaming items from all era's. They had A LOT of older games (and even refurb'd consoles). The staff went above and beyond in helping us. Super nice and knowledgeable folks. I originally went there to have a couple of games and music cd's repaired - that are now "like new" - of course and I was treated like gold. Thanks guys!! So glad I found your gem of a store and we will drive across town again for another visit! read more
