Well organized used book store with great categorization. Easy to navigate and friendly staff with books all very reasonably priced. I personally tend to look for interesting books in different languages nowadays, and their section was great in that it wasn't full of just dictionaries (as some used book stores are). Some very interesting finds. Even found a super rare copy of a highly acclaimed French book that was hand-bound. You can find some gems here. Worth the visit.

I enjoyed my visit here. They have a viable selection of used and new books that, while not exceedingly inexpensive, avoid the priciness of bigger stores. The items aren't expertly organized, and it's a bit of a maze trying to find a specific topic or genre, but for me at least that's part of the draw of a used book store. You wander- and wander- and wander more. You browse, rather than seek something specific. Books End doesn't have the selection of its nearest competitor, Books and Melodies, located right down the block. Books End is the more expensive place, but their books seem to be always, as a general rule, in like-new condition. It doesn't seem like Books End accepts anything but titles in the highest-quality condition. There are no (or very few) $1-2 "steals" (ie. books that are in bad shape, folds, creases, marginations, etc.), but you'll never be torn about whether to buy a book you like that's in poor physical condition. Everything there is at least a "B" on a A-F scale. What I really like about this place is, despite their lack of crystal-clear organization, they certainly do a good job about labelling, especially because they have a pretty cool system for subgenres. For example, they have a memoir section, like any other store... but they also have, inside of that memoir section, a clearly-labelled "addition memoir" category that I found to be very helpful when searching for smaller topics within philosophy, my preferred genre. They've got a major politics/history section, and have a small-medium sized section dedicated to movies, television and other related merchandise. The people working here are friendly, and don't hassle you if you're just looking to browse in peace.

They had a good mix of older and more modern books, and most of the books were in like-new condition.

At the checkout counter they have a bunch of bookmarks and stickers available. The mid-back room is all non-fic, and had two chairs if you're the type who wants to sit with your wares for a moment. They back room is used clothing and antique fabrics, and DOES have a fitting room! There's a room for kids and teens too. I recommend you have good knees going in as there are books in every possible nook, high and low, including under tables. There's a read for every flavor and a recommendation for every reader. The shop owners are very knowledgeable of their stock. Parking- for cars I believe there's a back lot? But it's probably easier to just street park.

I got the first four Harry Potter books for my son for like $19 and even though they were used you couldn't tell. I talked a lot to the two women working there who were super nice and helpful and they said if you donate books you get 15% off. This is an amazing place for interesting and different Xmas presents. Give it a try for sure.

She knows the history and fashion origin of them all. They are primarily structured pieces from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, all of excellent quality and construction, a testament to Cjala's eye. If you're interested in some guidance Cjara will direct you to things which might be within your comfort zone but also comfortably out of it if you're willing. There are always inspiring outfits in the window displays, showcasing standout pieces and unexpected and wonderfully layered "basics". I feel the prices are very good here, a reasonable ask for good garments. Aside from clothing there are books and records, all steeped in black history and the intersections it meets. With the music playing, the books on offer, and the clothing at hand it's an immersive experience that we're fortunate to have in Syracuse. Car parking - this shop is in an alley, y'all. Don't block it. Warren St usually has good spots and there's a parking garage right nearby on Washington. There are bike racks around the corner on Fayette St to lock to.
