A party of three came in for dinner on Thursday, July 11th. Two ordered steamers and the other had a salad. Shortly after ordering, the salad was served. Forty minutes later the steamers came out. I had completely finished my salad when the steamers were served. When we asked to speak with the manager and which 15 minutes later Heather appears at our table. Heather tells us that everyone was "waiting" and the restaurant was full. I told her that waiting 40 minutes for any meal was unacceptable. (Steamers take 5-10 minutes to prepare). I asked to have one of the meals comped. Heather was very unprofessional and rolled her eyes at me and walked away mumbling. Heather obviously didn't care about her customers or or has a notion about what customer service actually is. She never offered us any type of compensation, which is typical when a meal takes that long to be served. When the bill came, nothing was comped. Heather needs some management training, quick. She is doing this restaurant a disservice with her unprofessional and untrained attitude. There is a lot of competition on Shrewsbury street and with that type of poorly/untrained and incompetent management in place, patrons won't be coming back. We certainly wont! read more

STAY AWAY!!!! This place used to be good but now they have bouncers that have really bad attitudes which makes this place kinda suck. I got CHOKE holded from behind by a fat slob of a bouncer until he threw me out the door!!!! I am not saying i was completely innocent, but if he asked me to leave i would have easily. I am a grown man and dont need to be wrestled out of a bar like a college kid. No body likes to go to a place where the bouncers are always looking for action!!!! Bouncers are there to difuse situations like that and not create them and the owners need to realize that this is not just my opinion but the opinion of many people around worcester. Bars and restaurants are in the hospitality industry, that is the proffesion you choose!!! If you dont want to be hospitable and look after your patrons instead of having the "us against them attitude" then your doomed as a business and im sure this places sales have dropped off!!! read more

Beware of racist waitresses. I've never been treated so poorly by a waitress as by Catie Horgan Shea. She is white and blond. She arrived with a face contorted into a scowl and slammed the menu down in front of my face. She looked at me like I was a steaming pile of dog doo, with her hands on her hips, and in a shrill, crotchety voice, greeted me with, "what what do you want?" She never checked in when I ate, and never refilled my drink. She treated the surrounding white customers with a friendly greeting and flirted with old white men. I've received a similar attitude from the manager Gina O'Toole. It's a shame because I ate here frequently and liked the food. They need to be taught manners and how to treat people equally. They would be fired at any other restaurant for their unprofessionalism and racism. I'll never eat here again. I wouldn't take a dog here. read more

We went here for last Sunday's NFL games and I watched 3 different people get rejected at the door because they had sweat pants or basketball shorts on. It's not a steakhouse, people. It's Football Sunday. You allow people to wear jerseys but not those? Weird. The bartender quietly fought back against the bald manager that was strictly adhering to this rule. One of them even changed to get a beer. However, after he did the manager (bald prick) continued to talk crap while everyone sat in silence. They left as did another party. We heard the bartender say "There goes a $170 day to a $70 day" That bald guy needs to go. I highly recommend BBC right down the street instead. Much better choice, MUCH better service. read more

I have gone into this establishment many times on a weekend and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great! The reason they are getting one star is one night I went there for dinner and there was a bartender there that is a big guy and bald and he was so rude it was unbelievable. He took our food order and never even asked us how we wanted our burger cooked. Slammed food down in front of us when it arrived! The real deal sealer was when I was talking to my friend and my beer was empty he picked it up and proceeded to bang it off the bar over and over to get our attention and held the glass out to me with out speaking!!! This bartender is TERRIBLE and because of that these owners lost a regular customer! read more

Put my name in and waited 45 minutes to get a table. When we come in to claim our table the manager denies us service because it "smells like marijuana". Extremely offended, I explained that someone outside must have been smoking. She proceeds to tell us to get out for no good reason. We literally did nothing. Just tried to claim our table that we waited 45 MINUTES FOR. Meanwhile we look over at the bar and see an extremely intoxicated couple. Why don't they get kicked out? Worried about overserving??? This place is a joke. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I sent my son and his college friends there to have a drink. They were not let in. They were told that 'they did not have pants with belt buckles'. I then went to this establishment and I was let in and I had sweatpants on. My son is brown and was not let in by the racist bouncers that work at this place. I will make sure to let me friends and business associates know what a trashy racist establishment this place is. Disgusting! read more

I'm a Worcester native. Born and raised in the ghetto. Right outside of sunderland rd. Moved to Virginia/D.C. for work for a year. Came back, they rejected for my Virginia REAL Id. I'm 23 turning 24 and just wanted to get a drink with my home girl. How rude! Should've called the police. Was told there was a fake law on being under 25 and having an out of state ID. Wow. Feeling betrayed by my state. Go Caps now. I will never forgive you Massachusetts. Pathetic read more

I came here a few months back and had their wing and taco specials. They had something going on like 10 cent tacos and wings? I forget what day they had that going on, I believe Sundays, but either way they're great. You can either get soft shell or hard shell, and your choice of 3 flavors of wings. Let's just sayI'm not particularly proud of how many tacos I've eaten in one sitting here... Nuff said... read more

We came here to watch the Bruins playoff game this past Saturday. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. The waitress did check on us often but twice it was to tell us the bar lost our slips so our drinks were "still coming". The TV's were ok for watching the game, but we will likely go elsewhere next time as it was hard to see over everyone even sitting at bar height tables. Everything was just "ok". read more

normally i would say i love this place, but they have disappointed me time and time again. the owner is discriminatory, unjust, and plain out rude. there is a "dress code" for girls thats consists of tight clothing, and if you wear anything less they will not let you in. so disappointed in the way this establishment is ran, not a fan. i would give it a zero, but that's not possibly. read more

To all the bikers in Worcester and surrounding areas; apparently Cal Dolan, manager at Funky Murphy's on Shrewsbury st has nothing better to do but to sit at home n scan cameras for dangerous ladies w bandanas and head scarves to deny service..mind you there's no signage establishing this ridiculous rule!!! Really, Cal!! Bikers stay away from this place!!! read more

Funky murphy rude and inconsiderate service boarder line rascist ... kicked 3 latinos U.S. latino citizens for a strong smell of marajuana. Don't waste yor time. Food is ok but here it is the summer of 2017and they reused to serve me because I was wearing a tank top, and not a collared shirt. Imagine that, a causual bar in good old dirty Worcester and they want high class customers . Will never go again. Boycott it. Gary Gardner read more

I eat lunch here at least once a week. The food is very good. When the window's are open in the warm weather, it has a Boston feel to it. The staff and owners are always very friendly. Try the Turkey Burger! It's the best I've had. read more

This place is insane. They dont allow girls without skanky clothes on and that is just awful. Anyone can wear anything they want and if they are told otherwise this is unconstitutional. Do not go here!! Absolutely insane. Disgusted. read more

Love this place. Inexpensive food. Great sports bar and vibe. The music is always nice. Sometimes they have a solo guitar player/singer and sometimes a piano player. Relaxing atmosphere. Good people. read more

The food is mediocre bar food which would be fine if the drinks were good. Unfortunately they aren't. There are places to go for drinks so I don't see myself ever going back. read more
