The Guinness here was terrible it tasted like they watered it down. Willing to give it a second chance, 10 years from now...

My boyfriend and I have been meaning to check this place out. We finally did on a Saturday and we…read morecan't wait to go back. A classic Irish pub, college football on the tv's, a huge diverse drink menu, and great service. We came for drinks and an app. Our drinks were great, I especially liked my pumpkin pie martini. There is also more seating in the back with couches which is super fun when coming with a group of friends. We just got the chicken tenders which were delicious, I really liked the sauce that came with it. This place just has a great atmosphere and now will be our go-to.

I visited Shannon's on st Patrick's day. I was excited to go there reading the positive reviews…read more but my experience was far from positive. knowing the place was busy I went to the bar to place my draft and food order. The wait staff took my order but didn't put the dinner order in or give me the draft beer. I waited and decided to cancel my order and receive my CCd back. when u got my card back the waitress charged me $9.99 for the pint. I asked to take the charge off because I didn't get the pint. at this time the waitress yelled for me to calm down, that it was an honest mistake. it was the most embarrassing experience I've ever had in a restaurant. I'm a retired teacher ( high school) and this experience brought me back to days of deal with hormonal teenage girls. I went to the Banner restaurant and had excellent service.

There is a significant service and management problem at this restaurant. My family and I went for…read moreSt Patrick's Day, as we have before. We asked the manager for some napkins to prop up the wobbly table and he said (quote) "Why don't you tell your kid not to stand on his chair" and walked away. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

This is where the locals go and it feels like the Worcester version of Cheers. There are always people of all ages here. It's relaxed, not too loud. Tonight there was a great 90s music playlist on. There are bar seats, booths, high tops. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch sports. I have never had issues with staff or service. My waitress tonight smiled plenty and the food came out quickly even though the restaurant was full. She did everything right, was attentive and polite. My son ordered the NY Strip steak. The thing was huge and would have likely cost $40 elsewhere. Here? $18. I got the lettuce wraps which are technically an appetizer but the portion is big enough for a meal. The menu is extensive, has something for everyone, and there are always specials. Great place for a casual family meal, I'll keep coming back.

We got seated right away, but it was busy for the time (mid afternoon). Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. The French onion soup hit the spot and was some of the best I've ever had. Rich beef broth, tender onions, nice and hot, and of course perfectly melted cheese. We shared a patty melt with onion rings. The patty melt was overdone - we ordered medium but it was beyond well done. Still flavorful but would have preferred it as ordered. They had a large patio which must be nice in the summer. A lot of the photos showed it being in a shopping mall, but those must be old, because it is a standalone restaurant. We will definitely go back when in the area, especially when we want French onion soup!
