Service was great but the food is very mediocre. It was decorated very nicely and warmly but the food just doesn't hit the spot. It's also a tad bit too dark for a brunch location.

We recently visited here when we went to Hershey PA for family vacation! We had Tabitha as our waitress and she was SUPER helpful with the menu as well as local knows she helps us with tricks/must knows for Hershey too! We got the cheesesteak egg rolls (not something we would normally order) but it was AMAZING! The pretzel app was delicious for main courses we got meatloaf(my FIL loved it and still talking about it), BBQ burger, stir fry special and a smash burger as well as kids meal chicken nuggets with fries! We then finished with the half baked cookie that was delicious- mouth watering!! They have happy hour with drinks apps and meals!! The environment there was relaxing and unique, very clean!! We will definitely make this a yearly stop!!

Great ambience Neatly organized seating Attentive and efficient service Good variety of drinks Octoberfest was tasty Menu had so many interesting choices Harvest salad with broccoli and feta was perfect Have to return to Hershey for another meal Oh Chocolate factory should be on the list

"French onion soup"

I'm not sure what their definition of French onion soup is. But this isn't mine.. At first I thought maybe it was shame on me for ordering "a cup of the onion soup" instead of the technical "Crock of French Onion Soup" and then we got the receipt. . .

Our food was excellent--big portions, came out hot, and reasonably priced. We had the pretzel and beer cheese for a starter (DELICIOUS), whiskey Mac and cheese, and chocolate chip cookie. Our waitress Tabatha was awesome and super friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here if you're nearby.

Turkey pretzel melt

Delicious food and drinks with a great ambience. Had reservations for a large group and the table was set beautifully.

Smoked Salmon Benedict was amazing!

Amazing breakfast! Their smoked salmon Benedict was amazing, one of the best I've ever had.

Yelp came through for us again. While traveling, I always check out Yelp to help us find a place to eat. I found Funck's!! Honestly their score should be higher. The restaurant is super clean with plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and helpful but the true test is the food and our appetizers and main dishes were SO good!!! There is a variety of foods to choose from so even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something to eat.

If you're looking for a brunch buffet not far from Hershey, I definitely recommend Funck's. It's not too expensive and they have several choices of dishes. You can also pick a la carte menu. Besides that, they have choices of cocktail drinks. My husband had blood Mary and it was served with celery and bacon. Plenty of seatings but it can be filled up really fast on Sunday morning. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive although she told us wrong soup menu for the buffet. Buffet includes chips and beef with gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, toast, hash brown,made-to-order omelette and waffles, bacon. You can customize your omelette with the fillings. You can also get salad, Mac and cheese, barbecue meatballs, Chilli, and dessert (fresh fruit, red velvet cake) Chilli was very good and generous with meat, perfect for a cold day. It's perfectly seasoned and not too salty. Meatballs has some spicy kick in it. None of those that I mentioned disappointed us. My husband really enjoyed his sausage patties.

If you are acquainted with the fundamentals of the craft beer scene of…read moreCentral Pennsylvania, you know and love Troegs, their solid IPAs and world-changing Mad Elf series. A visit to the brewery provides fresh pours of the classics as well as a host of specialty brews (e.g., bourbon barrel-aged Mad Elf Grand Cru, which is nothing short of magical). Many of these brews are high-octane. Handily, Troegs also serves food - and it's not the typical compliment of fried bar nibbles. The menu offers a wide and changing variety of dishes of all sizes that are damn near gourmet (e.g., braised short rib, duck confit, crab lasagna). The Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese is an obvious must. And I like the way they do payment. After you sit down, a member of the wait staff will find you, take your name, credit card, and (first) beer order, after which you can just give your name to the bar or snack bar and they will add order(s) to your tab. Also, epic gift shop (that sells beer and all related things).

You give a credit card to your server and that opens the tab. You go to the "snack" counter to order but drinks are brought by a server. Water is self service. After you place your order you get an alarm square (like Panera) and then you pick up your food and silverware and water. Two of us ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich. It came with cole slaw and Bbq sauce and a side of fries. Dining partner really liked the brisket and said it was so tender. I asked for the bbq sauce on the side and I'm glad I did because it was a vinegar base sauce. I didn't like it at all. I found the brisket to be a little too fatty and not well seasoned. The slaw in the sandwich wasn't seasoned either. I was disappointed. Both of us thought the fries were meh. Not hot enough and not crispy. Mine were kind of soggy. Diner 3 got grilled cheese. It was a sandwich in thick bread and came with a side of marinara sauce. She said the sandwich was good. Diner 4 got the Mediterranean plate. Hummus, tabuli, zucchini fritters and tahini. She graciously offered me tastes. The tabuli was really good and the zucchini was prepared like felafel. They were ok. The pita triangles looked good. I didn't try anything else. The other diners all ordered sodas which came with twist off caps in small bottles. They liked the sodas. Overall, the food was ok. There is a gift shop with a variety of merchandise and lots of beer for sale. I asked if the beers and 'cocktails' were available as singles rather than 6 packs. And I was offered a taste. I chose the freaky fruity cherry limeade cocktail. It had too much of the taste of hops for me. The server said it's not made with hops but on the same equipment and although it was tasty, I couldn't get past the taste if hops. Not something I like. The place is nice looking, people were very nice, the menu just didn't work for me.

The menu immediately caught my eye with its local flair, and it did not disappoint. They happened to be hosting trivia night, which was such a fun surprise and gave the place great energy. I ordered the chef's special crabcake sandwich, and it was outstanding--perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Easily the highlight of my night and exactly what I needed after a long day. Kelsey and Kristen were absolute standouts--warm, engaging, and incredibly welcoming. Even as someone from out of town, I was treated like a regular, which made the experience even better. Between the food, atmosphere, and people, this will absolutely be a regular stop for me on future work trips. Highly recommend.

There are two of these in the area, we weren't quite sure which one to hit, so we opted for the one closer to our hotel in Hershey. We arrived just as they were opening at 11:00 am for lunch. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender and the server. They were the only two working up front, but it was fine; our entire time there, only one other table came in (this was on a Friday). The inside was nice, and we were seated by a fire. The only gripe I have is that the chairs seemed to be the wrong size/height for the tables. But other than that, the place looked good. My wife ordered a beer flight with an assortment of sours and a wheat. I went for the Annville IPA Bold Cask. It was a really, really good beer. Smooth, fully-bodied, and with a good amount of hops. Plus, it's 9.8%, so if you ask me, that's a great way to start off a lunch! The beer flight was decent, but more my wife's thing. Now onto the food. There were a lot of great choices, and we were starving, so of course, everything looked good. We always order for our six-year-old first so they can eat while we relax. We ordered him the hot dog and tots. For our apps, we ordered the Tator Tot Nachos: house cheese sauce, fresh pico, scallions, jalapenos, cilantro lime sour cream, and chicken. And also the smoked wings with hot sauce. I'm always a fan of tator tots, maybe it's because I never had them as a kid, or they really are that good. But these were perfect on a cold day in central PA when you're hungry. The right amount of salt on the tots, crispy exterior and creamy inside, plus the toppings (I love fresh jalapeño). The wings were okay, but this was to be expected. They're smoked, and as much as I love smoked food, you never get the skin crispy (especially on wings). They had a slight smoke flavor and a good sauce, but I'm a "well done" wing guy, so these I would pass on next time. By the time we were going to order lunch, my wife realized she was already full, and we still had a decent amount of food left. So she just picked at the appetizers. I was getting there myself, but I wanted to try a burger. I ordered the Pub Burger: 8 oz, Cooper Sharp, red pepper-bacon jam, dill pickle aioli, lettuce, brioche, and fries (because who can resist more fried potatoes). It came out perfectly medium rare as I ordered and seasoned well. I was apprehensive about the red pepper-bacon jam; I'm not a fan of sweet, but in this case, it worked. It was a great burger (although I only ate a quarter of it). The service was good, and she was very personable and polite. But one thing that was strange. She was on the phone almost the entire time we were there with whom she said was the owner (or maybe a manager). We heard her discussing the reservations and large parties coming in. This was a long call, and while I know there wasn't a lot going on in the restaurant, we felt at times we needed something, and she was busy talking. I'm not blaming her; if it were the owner or manager, they should certainly know better and keep it short. But when she was there, she was great. All in all, a great recommendation from a friend that we are happy we stopped to try. We will be back again, maybe sooner than our annual trip to Hershey!

I retired from drinking a long time ago, and I discovered that they make one heck of a "virgin Mary"! (a bloody Mary without the alcohol. ) Rich and tangy. I asked for just a small splash of Tabasco in it, and he got it just right. It was Amazing. I'm sorry I forgot to get a picture of the drink. For food, I started with the goat cheese, strawberry salad. Spinach, strawberries, almonds, goat cheese, and red onion, with a poppyseed vinaigrette. I ordered the "starter" portion, and it was huge! The spinach, strawberries, and onion were very fresh, I loved the almonds, the goat cheese was creamy, and had a fantastic Tang to it, and the poppyseed vinaigrette was creamy and delicious. I also ordered a cup of the gumbo, and it was also a very decent sized portion. The rice was just the right texture, it was rich, and it had just a little bit of a zip to it. Very, very good. I was pretty much stuffed from dinner, but I had to try the caramel croissant bread pudding for dessert. That too, was a very decent sized portion, the bread pudding was very savory, and the ice cream and caramel just played so perfectly off of it. This was an absolutely fantastic meal. It was a great evening. Everybody who worked there, especially the bartenders and servers, were beyond friendly and helpful. Also, the prices on the menu are very reasonable. I would like to come back to either here, or one of their other stores. Thank you!

I had made a reservation, which made it easy for us to come in and grab a seat. We came in at 7:30pm and it was busy but not crowded. Overall, I would say that the food is decently good for the most part, however the kitchen and service was a bit wild. If I remember correctly from the previous year that I was here, the service was really slow, but last year it was crowed and packed. So I had thought it would've been because how busy the restaurant was....however, coming back again, I would say that they're just slow. Period. Other than our orders, things just kept getting messed up again and again. One thing that's confusing is that the on-line allegory menu is NOT consistent with what they tell you IN PERSON for the allergy alerts. All that to say, things that didn't have egg or dairy allergy (for my child) on-line had allergies when asked in person....confusing. But we had ordered food based off of the on-line menu for it to come back and say it had an allergy...so we changed our order. The apps and the kids food came out first, but the first order still came out and then we sent it back. Then the new order came "rushed" (but 15 min later) incorrectly AGAIN, and "rushed" for us to finally get our order for our kid only for it to come out incorrectly AGAIN. So it only took FOUR times and the communication wasn't there. Super frustrating at 8:30pm waiting for my kid to eat. WILD times (also nothing was done to mitigate this chaos). We had also asked for our broccoli to NOT be soggy but..,you guess it, it arrived soggy and we've been through so many back and fourth we didn't bring it up As for our food when we finally got it 45 - 50 min later.... Our main course adult meals were the pub burger with fries and Baja fish tacos with salad. The burger was pretty good, not dry but juicy and flavorful. The pretzel bun was decent, slightly better than Costcos, and the combo of the flavors were pretty good! Overall, solid burger with good flavors 4/5! Their fries in general are pretty lame, not crunchy and little flaccid and soft, not seasoned well either. Just meh, 2.5/5 The fish tacos were actually good, the fish was battered well with a great crisp and decent amount of fish inside and the sauce and toppings made it great. I probably could've gotten an extra one added to it as they were a little smaller in portion. Overall 4/5! The side salad was a little lame. Normal salad, 3/5. We got two appetizers the Philly cheesesteak rolls and pretzel sticks. Both were good! The cheesesteak rolls had a good crunch to it and decent amount of meat inside, I'd pair with the white sauce more than the red sauce but both kind of worked. 4/5! The pretzel sticks were good! The cheese and the mustard (a bit on the stronger mustard side) paired well with them. Pretzels were soft and had good amount of salt on them. 3.5/5 Overall, the food is good and have some good options, but with the service and how SLOW and how much of a headache the back and fourth is the orders were, I'm honestly not sure if it's worth the hassle for the food. And there was no FOH or anyone apologizing or comping anything. Kind of disappointing tbh.

The place has a very casual, come-as-you-are bar-and-kitchen vibe, which fits the area well. Nothing felt overly polished or fancy, and that is not a criticism. It seemed like the kind of local spot where people can just show up, relax, and get a solid meal. The problem was the service on this visit. We showed up right around the breakfast-to-lunch transition and thought we had made it in time for breakfast, but apparently not. We got seated pretty quickly, which made it seem like things were moving along, but then we sat there for about 20 minutes with water glasses and no water, and really no meaningful attention at all. By the time someone finally came over with the water, we were already done and decided to head somewhere else down the street. It was also getting fairly loud while we were sitting there, and the staff seemed tired or stretched thin, so I would not be surprised if we caught the place at a bad moment, maybe during a shift change or just an awkward transition between breakfast and lunch. The restaurant was busy, which usually says something good, and the food we saw going to other tables looked pretty solid. That is why I landed on 3 out of 5. This was not a bad experience in the usual sense. It was more of a non-experience. We never got far enough to judge the food, and I do not think it would be fair to hammer the place over one oddly timed visit. But sitting that long without even getting water was enough for us to leave.
