I was in a tight spot needing new appliances, and they truly stepped up. From the moment I walked in, they treated me like a priority. I had my patio expanded, my pergola moved and a hot tub installed. I worked with Jason McDonald, the salesman and Davis Wall the engineer, who managed the extension to my patio. They were fantastic to work with. All of the workers were excellent, professional and very pleasant. Davis matched the stone work that was already on the patio and thus, the extension looks just like the original stone work. We also had an additional stair installed and a salt water cleaning system installed. The final product was fantastic and much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and its excellent staff to anyone interested in improving their outdoor living. Great job indeed! read more

My "not so fun" outdoor living experience started 5 years ago. The sales team was very eager to please, and made the buying experience extremely easy, especially since I was paying cash. Many promises were made, sadly 5 years later, all were broken. Numerous stones/slate have fallen off the exterior and of course broken. I have had to repair and replace to the best of my ability. PS: I have now been reminded that the stones/slate come with a 1 year warranty, something I perhaps knew and have forgotten. The kicker was when the Bull grill stopped working, and I could not find a repair person. After many (3-4) calls to fun outdoor, I was informed that FUN outdoor living no longer provides service to Bull products ( a line they happily SELL). I was given an 800 number to call Bull. Bull referred me back to Fun outdoor living, who they have listed as our local repair company. This back and forth continued for approx. 4 weeks. Cindy at Bull became my advocate and FINALLY a service person was found, however when I called him, he said he only "services" the Bull refrigerator products. "Jim" an employee at Fun Outdoor living stated via text that he had attempted to contact me no less than 5 times, however no VM was ever left nor was the number in my missed calls. Interesting, that I got a text but no calls were received. After 4 weeks a service person was found, came to my house and in 10 minutes had the grill working. Thank you Cindy at Bull for your assistance. Was my experience FUN? Not so much. Be prepared to be able to service your own products if you purchase from this store. This was a very expensive and disappointing experience, and no, I will not be using this company again. read more

I sent pictures of the very specific pergola I wanted. I did not end up with it, even though I was very clear in what I wanted. This was a $12,000 project. Now I'll have to spend a few thousand more to get what I wanted. Also my project that I was originally told "would take one day, two maybe at the very most" took over 3 months to complete. There was zero communication made to me during this time. Workers would randomly show up with zero notification beforehand. I never knew what was going on, even after I complained twice. Take your business elsewhere!!! There's nothing this company does that several others can't (except they'll do better). read more

This store is fantastic. We purchased our Hot Springs spa from them in 2018. It has been wonderful having the spa. It really helps with stress and relaxation. These guys at Fun Outdoor Living are also great as far as recommending what supplies that you need and never recommending more than you should need. This company is a complete joke! We ordered a new grill and had it installed and the lighting was never wired up. We asked them to come out and fix it and they referred us to the warranty company when it was never wired up properly from the start. We had to hire an electrician to come out to wire it so it would work! They are very unprofessional and rude! Would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

Fun Outdoor Living in Cornelius completed a beautiful project at our new home including a 2 level paver patio with border, large shade pergola, a privacy arbor partition, landscaping trees, and a Hot Springs Spa! It was a pleasure to work with the entire staff. We were pleased with the knowledge and professionalism from first contact with Jason at the store, to Adam the designer & sales rep, to Melissa in the office, and Julia who helped us select a spa. Adam did a site visit within a week of us first calling the store. He helped us improve & finalize our design ideas and showed us a computer drawing at the very first visit! His input on design was very valuable and we LOVE our finished project! All of the crew were extremely hard workers and always took care to clean up daily. With such a large project there was a lot to coordinate, and it was peak season for construction. There were a few minor bumps along the way, which is common in construction projects. But any questions or issues were always addressed by Adam & the team. By engaging in calm, clear communication and patience with Adam and others on the team we could always depend on every issue being addressed to our complete satisfaction! We feel they delivered a top quality project and we are so pleased with the end results! It was a plus that all of our different project elements could be handled by one company. Very bad customer service after the sale. I bought a 9,000.00 hot tub from them aprox. 5 months ago. I'm now having problems with it. The attitude was flippant on Friday when I called about getting someone to look at it. No return call on Friday or Saturday as I was told. I called again today and was told they were really busy and would call me later. Someone finally called and wanted 129.99 to come tell me why my new hot tub wasn't working. No thanks! They can shove their lack of customer service right up the wazoo..... WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. read more

Incredibly disappointing experience!!! When my husband and I decided to have a new patio and outdoor fireplace installed, we engaged several providers. Although Fun Outdoor Living was significantly more expensive, we opted to go with them as they said they could get the job done in one week. Ultimately, the project took 5+ weeks to complete and was such a pain- not at all what we expected. They knocked it out of the park installing the patio. The trouble started when it came to the fireplace. Although it rained quite a bit, there were plenty of days when no one showed up., even on days when it wasn't raining. When they did show up, they were here for 1-2 hours. It literally looked like they would apply 10-15 stones a day. At the rate they were going, it would take all summer to finish the fireplace. There was zero communication from the company so we had no idea what was going on or when. I had to call to get an update and express my frustration unfortunately. The project manager was completely unaware that they guys were coming and staying for such a short period of time. Although, there was quite a bit of rain, the impression was that our project just wasn't big enough to be a priority. After that call, they did work to get the project completed. During the final cleanup, they messed up the sand while pressure washing. (We were told the sand locks in like concrete and this wouldn't happen.). They tried to fill this in with a different color sand. It looked awful and we shared all of this with Fun Outdoor. It was over a week and it was not fixed yet we started getting calls about making the final payment . We were not willing to do this when the project was not done. We kept being told that this was a punch list item and we needed to pay. That was completely unacceptable. When you are merely talking about a patio and fireplace, punch list items should be resolved prior to requesting final payment. The level of professionalism just was not there. It was shocking that there was a complete lack of concern about customer satisfaction and providing a truly finished product. I would have expected a company like this to take pride in their deliverable. They could have made it more clear that this was about money only!!! read more

The message to us that this was about money and not satisfaction was well received. We've had a 5-star experience with the entire team at Fun Outdoor Living, especially Dustin. We've dreamed of having a hot tub with salt water but didn't know where to start. He's an incredibly knowledgeable guide and helped us make the perfect choice. The hot tub is now a centerpiece of fun with family and friends -- plus it's incredibly relaxing after a long day at work. I am building a house and the budget is tight, but we really want a nice hot tub. I called and spoke to John about buying a hot tub during a promotion. He gave me a decent (not amazing)price based on my research, but when calling to place the order, I asked about removing the price of the included lift to help offset the apparent upgrade costs to have steps to match the tub and was told I was nickel and diming him on a $12,000 tub and he didn't care if I bought the tub or not. We received a flyer in the mail and stopped in at the Cornelius location to talk about the possibility of Fun Outdoor Living building a patio and fire pit for us. We spent about 45 minutes going over the details and were told we would receive a call the following week to set up a time for someone to come out and do a site visit and give us an estimate. It was a fairly basic, simple job. We didn't hear from anyone that week. I called and left a message. No call back. I called again, explained that we had been waiting for a week and half for someone to come out and asked for a call back. Though the job wasn't huge, (about $12,000 quote from another company) they certainly could have called and said, "not interested" or let us know they were too busy. They seemed like they knew what they were doing and had a nice showroom...maybe they do good work - but unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to find out. Very disappointing. read more
