Disreputable and dishonest! Don't do business here! On March 4th, 2026 we had a service call and were told we needed an igniter. They demanded full payment of $480 before ordering the part. The next day I discovered the grill was working fine and called and cancelled the order. They said a refund would be forthcoming. Over the last 4 months we have been contacting the business monthly. Each time they promised the refund was coming, most recently on June 26th. Reputable businesses require payment when services are completed. Lesson learned! read more

I hired The Grill Doctor on 11/18/2025 to repair my Kamado Joe Classic III grill. I was told parts needed to be ordered and that they would return the following week to complete the installation. The repair was never completed. Over the next two months, I followed up multiple times via text, email, and phone. On several occasions, I was told the required parts were "in transit" and would arrive "this week." That explanation was repeated, but no installation was ever scheduled. On 1/29/2026, I requested either a confirmed installation date or a refund. I was told scheduling would be coordinated the week of 2/9/2026, but that did not happen. A final follow-up on 2/23/2026 received no response. As of today, the service remains incomplete. I recommend carefully reviewing public feedback before hiring this company. read more

I would advise against using this company. They came to our home in January to do a standard cleaning of the grill and determined that some parts needed to be replaced, rendering the grill unusable. I should note that they no called, no showed a few times before actually coming out. They did not come out until April to replace these parts, rescheduling several times after consistent nagging from me. They will not answer the phone and only correspond over text (if they even respond). After we finally got them to come out, they demanded payment less than 24 hours from completing services and before I even had the chance to validate work had been done (it was a holiday weekend, and we were out of town). They were very persistent in their effort to collect payment, texting me multiple times a day and threatening to engage an attorney and then take a "mechanical lien" on the property (which isn't even a real thing). At this point, we'd tried to remit payment twice but there were issues on their end. all of that to say, I do not recommend this company. find someone else. read more

I met with Anthony from the Grill Dr. in Cornelius to discuss a beverage island for our new dock. He told me he works with a company that can customize an island for our needs which we did. He came to my house and we looked at samples, etc. He said the lead time was 16 weeks and I should have by end of May/June of last year. We were hoping to enjoy it for the summer. I had to give him a deposit of $7,695 (70%) to order appliances and material. He said we should have by end of May of 2024. I had to pay him the other 30% at shipping which was 3,297.93. May came and went and then June so I reached out to him to get a status. No response for two weeks - said he had the flu and then he said the cabinet company said it was coming off the production line so it shouldn't be too much longer. Another 2 months came and went....nothing. I reached out again. This time he had a medical emergency with his 2 year old daughter and apologized for the delay. Mid July he told me the ship date was now early August. He said the company had internal issues with powder coating which caused extended lead time. Now it's mid September - NOTHING. He then blamed the two weeks of rain for putting him behind schedule. By the end of September someone from his office said he has been out of the office on a medical emergency. October 28 I got a message that he is having personal issues and trying to get a discount from the manufacturer. We emailed him in November and December and he promised to make a delivery in January. That came and went and then he said he was sorry but his wife had cancer and dealing with family issues. ALL OF THIS WAS A LIE!!!! Delay, delay, delay - two dozen excuses at least. He continued to promise us a full refund or deliver our product by April of 2025. That came and went and then it was May and then June. NOTHING!! So we have no choice but to take him to court. I contacted the manufacturer that he ordered my job from and they said HE NEVER PLACED THE ORDER! Complete BS for a year and a half from him. It is a criminal offense to take someone's money with no intention of delivering. We know now that is was a SCAM and he never ordered our product nor intended too. I have looked at other reviews and he has done this to other people as well which is so wrong and horrible. I am not sure how he can live with himself. We have called and called and tried to get them to order the parts and come out to put them in our BBQ. If you do get a hold of them you will be given the run around.....the managers is not in the office, the manager is on vacation, the manager has personal family issue, rain delay excuse about 3 times, finally made an appt and they never showed up, no call nothing. I live in Cornelius and in early February of this year I made a down payment of $6343.65 to The Grill Doctor for some outdoor kitchen equipment including a pellet grill, a power burner, and some stainless steel drawers and door. The balanced was to be paid when the order shipped. Towards the end of February, Anthony, the owner of the company contacted me and said the order shipped, so I paid the balance of $2718.71. Five months later Anthony has only delivered the power burner which was $2,299.00 of the order. The remainder of the order has not been delivered. After losing faith in Anthony being honest and trustworthy, I asked for a refund of my money. He admits in emails and texts that he owes me the money back but he has yet to repay any of it. All this is documented via emails and texts. I have a small claims court date in early September but I think the public should be aware of this shady business. A search on the BBB's website indicate he has done this to many other people. After patiently waiting, I reached out to Charlotte Grill Company and ordered the same items from them. Within two weeks, all items were delivered. They are a great company to work with. read more

Unless you are paying thousands for a full grill install in which case they may actually care about your work order and your money, do not expect to be treated with respect, consideration, service or communication as a paying customer. We had a technician come out in August 2023 to assess why our built-in Memphis Grill was not working and informed us a part would need to be ordered from Memphis Grill to fix it. We paid $762.20 upfront for the part and labor. By October we had heard nothing from the company in terms of the part coming in and scheduling the repair. After calling and emailing multiple times for a status update, they only then informed us that Memphis Grill had been acquired and the transition was causing delays and we could expect the part to come in by end of January. We verified this directly with the Memphis Grills website and service line so gave them the benefit of the doubt. By mid-February (February 12) we had again heard nothing and reached out via phone and email. They responded a full 4 WEEKS later (March 14) to our email to let us know that they were extremely short staffed and sorry for the late response and contacted Memphis Grill to get an update on the part's delivery and would have "an answer for us by Monday at the latest". No answer came Monday. We reached out again April 22 to no response. Reached out again April 29. Next response came from them on May 6 to let us know that Memphis informed them there were "no control boards available to distribute" and would be reaching out to the original manufacturer. How they were able to place the order with our $762 in October just to be informed in May that there were no parts available to distribute makes no sense. We reached out for an update May 12 - no response. May 28 - no response. June 17 - no response. On June 18 we were told "Anthony canceled the order and is waiting for reimbursement from the company. He will be able to provide a full refund by the end of July." If the parts have been discontinued as we were told, there would be no need to "cancel an order" and any money that had actually been placed with the manufacturer would have been refunded immediately. The response remained " Anthony indicated the refund check (tracking number) will be mailed and provided before end of the business day August 1, 2024." No refund or tracking number was sent by the end of business day August 1, 2024. We reached out again on August 15 to give them one last chance to refund our payment in a timely manner and were then told "He has now indicated that the refund will be handled on Friday 8/23/24- with UPS tracking provided- for the certified check." It is evident that this company takes on more jobs than they are able to accurately staff for, and they take money upfront for smaller jobs that they think people will forget about and not follow up. The inability to provide a refund for a discontinued part when payment was made a full year prior is inexcusable, no matter how "short staffed" a company is. Writing a check and putting it in the mail doesn't take 6 months of time. We're thoroughly disappointed and will be taking further legal action until we receive our refund as promised. read more

Buyer Beware - I absolutely do not recommend. We paid in full for a Blaze Grill and Hood in February. After many promises that it would arrive in "a week or two", we finally received delivery on May 24. In May, the hood had finally arrived, but it was dented. Over the course of the next 3.5 months, they told us week after week that the replacement hood would arrive in 1-2 weeks. The false deadlines were infuriating. Actual text messages: May 24: "Next week to following", June 6: "Mid to late next week", June 23: "Next week to following", July 3: (no response), July 20: "Wed to Friday of Next week", July 31: The owner will reach out to you, August 18: "Next week". Ultimately, we completed our outdoor kitchen, gave up on the Grill Doctor, and installed the dented Hood. They gave us a credit for the dented merchandise. (The check was also delivered 1 week later than promised - seriously) I understand that delays happen, but it's the false deadlines that are so infuriating. The false deadlines continued bi-weekly for months - from February to September. This was a small piece of our outdoor construction project, but it ended up causing big delays and an entire summer with no grill. This Blaze grill and Hood could have been purchased from other companies and delivered in 3 days. This was not a specialty item, but we had already paid in full. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! On 9/7/23 I paid $461.14 for a Big Green Egg cleaning and replacement parts. Anthony came and cleaned and was supposed to fix a broken BGE fire Bowl and fire ring. He did not have the correct parts and said he would come back to replace. After a week, I went and purchased a fire box and fire ring, which cost $189.99. At that time, I let Kathy know I was replacing the items and they could just refund the cost, in which she agreed, via text, that my credit card would be credited on 10/23. On 11/2, my card had not been credited. On 11/9, I reached out again and was told, via text, that Anthony was currently out of the office and they reminded him of the refund owed to me. on 11/17, I still had not heard back and called and texted, and was told, via text, that a check was going to be dropped off at my house on 11/28. On 12/1, still nothing. I received a text saying the manager had been away on a family medical issue and is responsible for handling refunds and that he scheduled a refund drop off at my house on 12/7 or 12/8. Still nothing. On 12/8, i received a text that said the technician is currently on a job site and behind schedule and would drop off a check on 12/12. I have received nothing and I am now getting texts back saying this number does not receive replies and to contact the business directly, in which I have tried to do via phone on several occasions. I've been shopping this place for a year and a half now and they've always treated me right. My first encounter with this business was when I was shopping for a pellet grill summer 2017. I already had a few different types of grills but was looking for something that worked on par with what my Green Egg is capable of but was automatic, where I could set the temp and not worry about the fire for at least 10 hours. So the first time I walked in I knew what I was looking for: a Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone model. They had one and I walked out with it 30 minutes upon walking in the store. I'm an easy sell because I mainly only go in any store when I know what I want and know they have it in stock. Grill Doctor doesn't keep a catalog of their inventory but they list what they're licensed dealers of which is what initially brought me in. They were/are also listed as a dealer on the manufacturer's site The Daniel Boone is a warhorse and hasn't given me any serious trouble in the 18 months since I bought it (at the time of this posting). I did have an issue were the heat shield I had warped from heat exposure. It didn't cause me to be unable to use the grill but that shouldn't happen at all. I called Green Mountain's tech support, briefly told them my problem and the guy was like "oh yeah man not a problem". Sent me a free new model heat shield, they even let me keep the old one. I couldn't figure out what I'd need a spare warped heat shield for so I ended up just throwing it away. This isn't so much a reflection of Grill Doctor's excellent customer support as much as Green Mountain's but from my experience Grill Doctor won't sell you a grill with cruddy or no support behind it. I've also ordered accessories through Grill Doctor. The prices were the same as they were on manufacturer's site and they didn't hike the price as I've seen other shops do to me. I've had 2 experiences with orders I've specially placed coming in extremely late but these guys have always made it up to me. One was where I didn't need the accessory I ordered immediately and they gave me a bottle of sauce I was already going to buy on the house. Another time I ordered two specific parts I absolutely needed for Thanksgiving. After checking in twice for 2 weeks it didn't look like they were going to arrive on time so they loaned me parts from their own demo model to keep me running until my parts came in and then they gave me some extra free condiments on top of that. They have gone very far out of their way to accommodate my problems and I do not believe I pressured them much other than walking in the store once a week to check up. For stand alone grills, they have solid brands and models for every type of fuel. And they carry every type of wood pellets, wood chips, wood chunks or charcoal I could ask for. My only complaint is lately the price on my pellets has increased by $10 for some reason. A bag costs roughly $30 now with tax (at the time of this review) and that's become a little high for me. That's seriously my only complaint about this business. They have almost any type of accessory I could want in store. If they didn't have it they ordered it for me because I couldn't get it through Green Mountain Grills' website as it was listed as 'see your local dealer' with no price shown. That or they were straight and honest with me me: "You're just as well off ordering those GrillGrates from their site. It's the same cost as buying through us and they'll get it to you quicker". Green Egg accessories? Yeah they have almost every type...available in store. For sauces and rubs they have a pretty darn good collection and they know what they're talking about when you come in looking for a specific rub for a certain kind or cut off meat or you're looking for a flavor type. We used the Grill Doctor for our backyard remodel. Initially the service was good. We pretty much knew what we wanted so it was just a matter of placing our order. However 6 months after install the eggverter in our Big Green egg broke. It was under warranty but they said they were out. The supply chain was hurting at the time so we were patient. First we were told 3 month, which became 6, then 9, then 12. During that time we watched them stock the item but told us we had to wait until one came in earmarked as a warranty item. At 1 1/4 years we started to get annoyed at the delay. When it finally hit 1 1/2 years they gave us one out of stock. This action should have been done a year ago. They needed to come back a second time but didn't have the right parts/correct parts. VERY poor followup; have made several calls that were unreturned. Finally located Anthony, the manager, who like all associates is very pleasant on the phone but who appears unable to get what should be a simple job, right in their wheelhouse, completed. Also troubling: they charged us $300 up front for the first service call even though the work was not complete. Not only did they give me a killer deal when I bought my Big Green Egg, but they assembled AND delivered it, free of charge, because they happened to not have it in stock that day. And when they missed their appointment to deliver it, due to another delivery/appointment that took longer than expected and traffic (which I completely understand!), threw in an extra bag of charcoal and some smoking wood for my troubles! Fast forward a little over a year and the fire ring on my egg cracked. After freaking out for a second, I called them, and all I had to do was text them a picture of it, and they are getting it warrantied out, no questions asked. Made an appointment with these clowns 6 weeks out. They called me THE DAY before the appointment and explained that cleaning an indoor hood wasn't something their techs wanted to do, because it was hard to be clean whilst cleaning the hood. They COULD do it, they just didn't WANT to do it, because they can be dirty and gross and messy outside, like they are used to -- and they didn't want to have to be careful inside the house.
