Happy with our tv room's new beige nylon Phenix/Griffith Park Cottage plush carpet with 8 1/2 spillguard pad. Our total costs were $1,332. If you have a similar sized room, here is the breakdown. We paid $2.60 a sq foot for what appears durable, attractive nylon carpet, and this seems less per square foot than similar carpet at a big box store. The actual size of our tv room is about 16 feet by 16 feet, (256 square feet), but the sales person upsized the square footage to 300 square feet for the job, making sure that we had enough carpet. (We've got plenty left over and put it in our garage work area) Our costs for this room is $1,332 total with $171 going to the installers and $1,161.53 going to Carpet Discount Warehouse. We saved money by moving furniture ourselves, and we could have saved more money by picking a cheaper carpet, but the nylon carpets are durable for high traffic areas and kids. If you are trying to figure out your own costs, this our breakdown: To Carpet Warehouse--300 square feet x $2.60 for carpet=$780, + 300 sq feet x .80 for new carpet padding=$240,+ Warranty of Installation $15(note, this doesn't come with any paperwork---not sure what it covers),+ Disposal of carpet 300x.08= $24 and Disposal of pad 300x.08= $24 for a subtotal of $1,083 and add tax 7.25% for $1,161.53. The labor was reasonable- $135 base fee plus 300 square feet x .06=$18 for taking up carpet and .06x300=$18 to take up pad---Total $171 labor for installation, and we paid this directly to the installers who professionally got the job done in less than an hour. There are some nice affordable carpet remnant deals in the back of the Carpet Discount Warehouse, and one can also get remnants made into area rugs. We would get carpet here again. read more

We have used Carpet Discount Warehouse over the years - purchasing remnants, bound rugs and a runner for a stairway with good a good result. I went to them for carpet for my mom's apartment. I first went with my mom and then again because I wanted to be sure to get a "trackless" carpet - one that wouldn't show a lot of footprints or track marks. I really needed their guidance as it is hard to tell in store or make the distinction in the various carpet piles/ textures. They were more interested in just selling the carpet - I repeatedly asked if the ones Interested in was the right style. Guess what- They installed carpet that shows track marks - my mom is not happy and neither am I. Not once was I told I wouldn't be happy with the choice. They do have their own installers- very efficient & cleaned up afterwards. read more

Met my expectations when I went there and purchased a custom rug. They have good prices and an awesome selection to choose from so I would recommend this business. They didnt earn five stars from me because about a week later I happened to have access to a van for a couple days, so called in to see if the rug might be ready during that time frame. The guy who answered the phone had no way of checking on the order for me even though I had all of the information and it also became clear that my 1 minute phone call was annoying to him because 'a customer just walked in'. read more

I have purchased two carpets here and went for my third today. The first two worked out just fine. You save a little money by having very limited customer service but it has good variety as long as you are good with looking on your own. Today we found a carpet we wanted and asked the sales guy to come over to price it out. It is an 8x10 and he gave the price, we agreed and then he went to write us up. When we went to pay, I noticed the price was different that the quote from 10 minutes ago by about $40. He said I needed to buy 8x12 instead because they don't have a use for the other 2". Well, neither do I, this was not in the agreed upon price and it is a remnant so they can cut however they want. The bottom line here is that they were not honest and did not honor the direct quote given. Most of all, it feels like they are taking advantage of people by giving a price and then changing it without telling you. Good carpet variety but a lack of integrity and honesty. Maybe it is a new guy but the owner didn't help. Be careful that the price they give is the same when you pay the bill. read more

We are truly happy with our decision to purchase our new carpet from Discount Carpet Warehouse. This selection was a very important part of our whole house remodel. We looked at all types of flooring for our upstairs. We settled on carpet, then started the search for a vendor we felt comfortable with. I stopped in on several retail outlets and of course the Big Box stores. Discount Carpet was one of the first places I shopped, after 3 months of comparison I still couldn't beat the consultation, concern for our needs and the price we were quoted by Discount Carpet. Israel was our consultation, patient and we'll informed. Israel came out and measured our upstairs at no charge. We worked well together through the entire process. Please be aware that the posted price does not apply should your order exceed what they have in the warehouse. I recently was told that a carpet I was interested in was going to be 35% more than the posted price because they contacted the mill for more. Not to mention that the carpet was 4 years old. The manager refused to negotiate on the price stating that it was like buying gas...it just keeps going up....??? I don't recall filling my tank and then being told at the register that it was 35 % more. A posted price is binding or a disclaimer should be on the item or the sales person should advise the customer that the price could change....neither of which occurred. Bait and switch? Made an appointment with Barry to come to my home an provide an estimate for bathroom floor installation. An hour after my scheduled appointment time I called Barry to see when he was coming. Barry indicated he forgot about my appointment and the company would now be charging a $25 fee to have someone provide an estimate, effective today. I visited 5 different carpet stores and got a variety of quotes. All out of my price range. Not to mention how long the process was. I finally saw Carpet Discount Warehouse advertised on TV. And checked them out. Michael was my sales rep and he was very knowledgeable. I did have a idea what I wanted and a estimate on square footage when I stopped in. Michael showed me three options similar to what I wanted and helped me pick out the pad. He made the process so simple. None of this back and forth other stores put you through. They were very thorough and professional. And the installation was top notch. All in all I am so happy. I got a top of the line carpet and pad with excellent installation just under my budget. Drove across town to get to this place and what a massive disappointment. I called before coming to make sure they could meet my request which they made it sound like they could. When I walked in I worked with the guy I spoke with on the phone. He told me several times, "I'm sorry, I don't follow" when my directions were very clear and written out on a piece of paper. In addition he told me I'd have to come back when the owner was there because he just wasn't sure if they could do it. After telling him what kind of carpet I wanted, he started showing me all different color and sizes. Very odd. Won't be back. read more

We recently bought a house and were recommended to go to these guys by our broker. He claimed they had the best prices and were quick and easy to deal with. He was right. Gina was our sales person and was super helpful in showing us wool only carpets. They came to take measurements and the next day installed the carpet. Our baseboards are higher than most and Charlie (the owner) and his crew came back to put extra padding below the carpet so there wouldn't be a gap between the baseboard and carpet. Lastly, during our move in, the movers got some dirt on the carpet (bound to happen) - I called Gina and she ordered me wool only carpet cleaner. They are a great, honest staff to deal with. As long as the carpet you want is in stock you can have it installed next day! Highly recommend checking this place out. They have A LOT to choose from and they will cut samples for you right there which was great! read more

It is literally in a warehouse so don't expect a high end store or a regular store. It was very warm as well because there is no A/C- it is all fans, however, if you want to save some serious money, this is the place to go and they have tons of carpet. We shopped 4 carpet stores (low, med, and high end) and this place was $1100.00 LESS expensive for the same brand, color, and carpet grade. Final bill was 4900.00 and the next closest was $6000.00. This included removal of current carpet and padding (no furniture moving involved) and install of quality padding and carpet. Bob was extremely helpful and generous with samples. He even came on a Saturday to take the exact measurements. One store would not even give a sample until a contract was signed to buy and install! How can you buy carpet like that? Want a bang for your buck? This is the best place for carpet but just ignore the interior. You don't want to pay for the look of the store. read more
