The main guy Julian is very friendly, helpful, thorough and flexible with collection and drop off times. Free diagnostics are a real draw too. Once due to needing to run extensive tests on my macbook they moved the hardrive to another macbook they had at the shop which I was then able to bring home so my working week wasn't interrupted. Just one example of the resourceful hands on touch approach that you wouldn't get in the big vendors in town. I reckon I've saved myself alot of money and prolonged the life of my computer considerably by popping in here regularly over the last three years.

When I collected the laptop, the folder that contained all of my work for the past three years was gone. E-Tech have accepted no responsibility for this and have refused to offer any robust explanation as to how this might have happened. I will explain why I have said what must seem as harsh words, The laptop I am writing this review on was the one I brought to this store as it was local to me. From what i could tell the hard drive was failing and I am no expert on laptops. So I brought it to Blue screen Terenure to which the man working there which is the owner said one of his first stories to me, about how his wife has the same laptop and that he knows exactly what is wrong with it and that it is a common problem and easy fix (this man likes to tell stories to convince you of doing what he wants) He told me it was going to cost €80 to just re install the windows program onto the laptop and that it would be ready in a few hours. Ok firstly how on earth does it cost €80 to just re install a software program, but sure its his own business he can charge what he wants that's not what this bad review is about. To make a long story short as if you are still reading this, this review is long enough as it is. Basically his efforts or lack there of didn't work and I had to keep going down to him another 4 times each time leaving him with my laptop for over 7 days at a time and each time he would give me a new excuse, new problem and a new story along with it. It got to the stage that the computer was getting worse and worse the more he looked at it (which i believe he was removing parts or something yet i have no proof of this) and eventually my laptop wouldn't even turn on, to which he finally tried to swindle me by giving me an ultimatum either sell it to him for €100 (New my laptop costs €699 and from my research it still costs close to €400) or pay to get it fixed which he was gonna charge me €200 on top of the original €80 i previously gave him that didn't work! This is where i started to realise he was a con man and that he could easily fix my laptop and just re sell it in his store and me none the wiser. So i took my laptop back off him and tried to get a refund to which he refused, at this point i didn't even care i just didn't want to deal with this con man anymore. So I finally brought my laptop to PC World and they said it was the Hard Drive after just 5 mins of looking at it, which is what expected from day one and they fixed it for me for around the same price as the con man at Blue Screen Terenure charged me to just re install a software program €80. My laptop is working like brand new now. I would not recommend this store and I would strongly suggest going somewhere else if you do not want to get robbed by a Thief. I feel so strongly about this as he is taking advantage of an area he knows people are no experts in and a lot of his customers I saw in his store were elderly people looking to get their gadgets fixed which is in my eyes just wrong. I even signed up to Yelp purely to make this review and to warn other people of this store.

They repaired it within a few hours and brought it back to me at work the same day. I spoke to an employee on the phone the day before I had the courier come pick up my phone for them to repair it. The guy on the phone was friendly and helpful. I wanted to see how the phone worked for awhile after repair. And about a month later it has been great and the battery is like new. The only odd thing that happened in the first few days after repair was that the screen wouldn't respond to touch. The volume, lock and home button worked but the screen was on and wouldn't respond to touch. I did a few hard resets and it would go back to normal and hasn't happened since, but it was a little nerve wrecking at first. Other than that I would return here for other repairs.

A few weeks later, the screen shattered from a fall of less than a meter - onto a wooden floor - with a protective case on. I returned and was charged another €200 for a second replacement. This time, they added a screen protector - something they should have done in the first place. Not long after, a blue inky patch appeared on the top left of the screen and gradually spread, making the phone completely unusable. Crucially, the phone had not been dropped, hit, or damaged in any way after the second repair. When I went back, they made me wait over an hour while the phone was supposedly being "assessed" (it just sat untouched on a desk). Eventually, I was told I'd need another new screen--and that it wasn't their fault after spending EU550 with them on two screens. Ended up getting it fixed properly by another provider for €150. Bottom line: Terrible customer service, poor-quality parts, and you'll find better prices and reliability elsewhere. Avoid ExpressTech at all costs.

Broken screen so brought it in got a new screen which back then cost €90. I think a month after drop again and screen calibration went. Bring it in, new screen this time did a deal for €75 and then I bought a cover for €25. So as you can see giving them a lot of business. I ended up breaking the screen again while I was out of Dublin and got it fixed in another shop. They proceeded to inform me that the screen was "shocking quality, I'm not surprised it broke even with the case and tempered glass on". This screen now has lasted me since this time and the only reason I have decided to write this review now is I went in to see if they would trade it in and I could potentially buy a better model. They obviously remembered me as one greeted me upon entry by saying "No man, not again?" They didn't have any phones to my fancy and after leaving I thought about it and I'm glad I didn't do business with them again as they like to see repeat business obviously!
