It's an update! I…read moredecided to go with Hyper Kidz for my LOs birthday party. I choose the mega party package which includes 15 kids, and two pizzas, my party was held on a Sunday. Booking for the party took place online, and because I have a monthly membership, I saved 10%. When booking your party, you have the option to send out online invites, which I thought was pretty nice. Changes can be made to your party in person or via phone. The process was pretty seamless, I received text with reminders about the party (for parents to sign waivers, or to add food, etc.). Additionally, I received phone calls, in my opinion, there may have been a bit too many reminders. I say this because there is supposed to be a "dedicated party host" and I was under the impression that I would be speaking to that person. The day of the party, I was given a slip with the details of the party to include setting up of the room (five minutes) and the name of my host. They give you a cart to put your items on, and your host will decorate everything for you. The host also serves the food, and dessert if needed. My host, Mari, did an amazing job and was super helpful throughout. The pizza is from Marcos, which the children enjoyed. My only issue is that they should not state that the each child gets two slices of pizza when they cut one slice in half. I see how this may fly at a younger child's party; however, with older children (which my party had) they definitely know. The party package that I selected came with two pizzas, and that was not enough for the party. Keep that in mind when scheduling. This is a peanut free facility, and outside food comes with a $100 price tag, and that includes water folks. You can bring a cake and candles (no matches) you cannot bring ice cream. Also, despite it being not too crowded for a Sunday, the space was exceptionally warm. Apparently, there was some issue with the heating; however, the staff made it up with providing me with a voucher for a future visit. All in all, the kids really enjoyed themselves, as did the parents, and I would recommend Hyper Kidz to parents for parties in the future.

Half the games weren't working, when taking the kids to get on rides it didn't seem like the people operating the rides cared much, as I had to make sure the girls were properly in the ride and fastened in tightly. Some of the ride seats belts and straps were broken, worn out, half way tearing. That's a huge safety hazard if the kids aren't strapped in tight, and after I secured them in there, they don't even come around to ensure they're in there right. It's like am I working here too, of course I care more about my child's safety. They have a height threshold for rides but kids under the height were still able to get on. It's just kids working there, one person working two rides. I constantly used sanitizing wipes to wipe the girl's hands because I felt it's so many germs around that place. Finally, had to take my niece to the bathroom, I asked her is she could hold it because the bathroom wasn't the cleanest, and it was only two stalls which makes no sense for a place that size with that many people. I like that there's only a finite number of spaces for time slots so it never gets too crowded. You should check their website before going just in case they're sold out (I believe they do allow walk ins though). They also have punch cards for a slightly discounted rate. It's usually around $18 for a single visit, but comes out to like $15 a visit with a punch card at the time of this post. I would totally recommend for little ones, but they may start to get bored for any ages 5 or older.

There were barely enough balls in the pit to make a layer. Play EC may still be fun for really small children but for anyone over 5, it gets boring fast. Please note, adults and children have to wear socks if they plan to come into the play area, which is inevitable because 95% of the place is the play area. You can buy some from the front desk if you don't have any. There's a small section at the front where you aren't required to have socks, however, I was informed that it costs $4.23 just to sit inside. This makes absolutely NO SENSE. There's nothing for adults to do here, there's barely enough for children over five to do. My mother rode along with me and wanted to sit at the front to watch my daughter play and the attendant on duty told her she might as well buy socks and enjoy the play area. Again, how is she supposed to do that? She would've had to pay about $8 just to sit there... While there, it wasn't really crowded. It was enough kids for my daughter to make some friends and play with them the entire time. Part of the time, it seemed like the attendant hovered over some of the smaller guests to make sure they didn't leave their juice boxes sitting around. I get it, she wants to maintain the cleanliness but the hovering gets old really fast. For the other part of the time, she was outside the door on the phone. The music from the speakers kept stopping, it was hot inside, and overall, it just doesn't seem worth it to me. The first time we visited, it was exciting and nice to find a black-owned play area so close to home but unfortunately, I won't be returning.
