We celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday at Fun Box. Here are a few things you should know: 1. Visit a day or two ahead of time and speak to a manager. I read the reviews and heard some not so great things after I had already booked the party. The manager I spoke to was very friendly and gave me a tour. 2. You don't really need decorations, but if you get them keep it simple. We got themed tablecloths, plates and napkins. They added small balloon table decor to match what I had. They have decorations already set up with their Fun Box theme. 3. Weekend parties are hectic! I wish I could've done her party during the week, but we had it on a Sunday at 4:15 pm. It was pretty packed and parking was a little rough. 4. The staff are great! Jeremiah was our party host and did a fantastic job. He was pretty busy, but there was always a staff member there to help us. Most of them are teens/ young adults and they were super well mannered and kind. 5. If you jump, bring one of those portable fans because you will get hot!!! 6. Just bring your own food. All in all, it was a good experience! I took my teen to a homeschool meet-up with some of his teen friends. TBH, none of them were super excited at first (they're way to cool for bouncy houses haha), but they all actually ended up having a great time. The workers were all excellent and explained everything during check-in. The arcade part was mostly claw-machine type stuff, but they had fun burning through some money there too. My only real complaints are 1)I don't even want to think about the germs and 2)if you didn't pay to jump, there is no way to see what's happening inside the bounce area. For our older teens it wasn't that big of a deal, but if I had younger kids (or hopefully it never happens, but if there are ever any big-kid/little-kid accidents) I would like to be able to see what's happening. I came for a party. The check-in process to get into the party was super slow. I had already signed my waiver for myself and my child, yet we still waited in line for 15 minutes; that was 15 minutes my child lost from the party/jump time. The Box was full. There were several parties going on, and they were still accepting reservations. They ran out of fun socks and eventually allowed people to come in wearing outside socks, which is very unsanitary. The food felt like a gimmick. There was food I ordered in-house that was actually delivered from the Charley's restaurant across the shopping center. It was served in a Charley's box, but the price included a $5 upcharge, which was unbelievable. Perhaps it was a delivery fee???? Not sure. At any rate, the Box was chaotic with low visibility for parents. It's definitely not a place for children under the age of 8, unless safety is not a concern. I didn't see any employees actively monitoring the Box; it felt like enter at your own risk. Unfortunately, I would probably never return again. read more

The bounce house is huge and my son enjoyed it. My concern is the limited visibility to monitor from outside of the bounce house. Also, the price point does not match what you get. $29.23 for admission and socks for my 6 year old. Considering that the bounce house is not adult friendly, they're should be a reduced rate to allow families to safely monitor their children without overspending. My son had a great time here during their opening. The location is great and in my opinion very central in bowie. The staff were helpful in answering questions and directing the flow. I do wish the socks were less pricey but when you come to these things it a known part of the process. We had a 90 minute time slot booked to enjoy ourselves. The little kid zone was great for toddlers. The preK to school age areas were fun. There were multiple and different places to jump, slide, flip and launch from. There are lockers available for purchase for 2 or 4 hours. I believe it had 30ish lockers with maybe 5-7 large lockers. They have an arcade zone that gives points towards prizes. I do wish they sold food but all in all a very fun day. Currently they have the founder's price at 4 bucks for a few more days. Fun Box lived up to its name for the kiddos. Inside the venue is a huge bouncy space with slides, climbing spaces, blown up bears and other animals. It was colorful and vibrant. There are also rooms for private birthday parties and sections for arcade game playing. Notes: Younger children must be accompanied by an adult so prepare to bounce along with them. You must wear the socks they provide. Though there were a lot of cubbies none of them are locked. They do have a large coat rack to accommodate guests, and a large seating area for parents to wait. The cost is extremely affordable $8.00 plus tac socks included. Con: The space is a hazard as the kids of all ages play in the same space. I think they need a space where smaller children can bounce around in a separate space from bigger kids. Just so children of all sizes can play safely and freely. Personally, I hate this. Came for a birthday party and happy to be able to able to celebrate our friend. However, this place is utter chaos. Check in was horrible. People crowded at the front like mobs. No clear process. Staff overwhelmed and confused. There's one large jumping play area and it was so concerning to see kids and teens as large as adults jumping around in the same space as small kids. Very unregulated and unsafe and made me super uncomfortable. There's no reason for. 15 year old to be leaping and jumping around kids. Who's monitoring this? read more

Wow, what a fun indoor playground for kids and adult alike! I got there with my two young kids about 5 minutes before their official opening time on an MLK Holiday. The line to get in already reached the door. Luckily, the staff was professional and knowledgeable to get the lines move quickly. One needs to purchase their socks to enter. One also receives a wristband that is color-coded for their assigned time upon entry. The place is colorful, clearly marked, and fun. There are plenty of tables, chairs, benches, and lockers for personal belongings. There are two vending machines for food/beverages, as well as a set of drinking fountains. There is a store where you could redeem prizes using the points you earn from the arcade games. The play area is huge. It is entirely an inflatable bouncy structure that has slides, basketball racks, and obstacle courses. You can easily get a good workout by just walking around, trying to balance yourself. My children and I had fun there during the entire 1.5 hours. I recommend this place, especially on day with inclement weather! read more

I came to FB around the holidays...I had a 2 for one coupon special around the time they first opened. Customer service was great despite the short staffed front desk. The place is huge....I typically watch my kids play from a distance as opposed to being a bodyguard....if you go into the jump area as a parent you will have to get a jump pass. The best advice I can give you is to keep up with your kids...have them wear a unique color or a hat because there is a lot of activity in the trenches of FB. It's essentially a club for kids.....there is staff inside and ample space indeed but the entire space is completely a giant bounce house....I did notice party rooms and a few arcade games....the jump pass is timed but I didn't really notice too many employees strictly monitoring and that's probably because you do spend some time getting access upon entry. Perfect place for kids of all ages as they have different areas for kids to play. read more

If you're a parent looking for a spot where your kids can actually burn energy (and sleep well after ), Funbox is it. The inflatables are BIG, clean, and kept in really good shape. My kids ran nonstop the entire time and didn't ask for screens once--which alone deserves five stars. The space felt safe, organized, and not chaotic, even with a lot of kids around. Staff were friendly and attentive, and I appreciated that they were actively watching instead of just standing around. Check-in was smooth, and everything from waivers to crowd flow felt well managed. As a parent, I loved that I could sit, watch my kids, and not feel stressed. I threw my son a 5 year birthday party here. My son had a good time but I would not throw another one or recommend to any of my family or friends that are looking to throw a birthday just off of the simple fact that you are not allowed access to the party room (you paid hundreds of dollars for!!!!) for the first 30 minutes of your party. In my opinion, that is utterly ridiculous. I've throw numerous parties for my kid and family members and I've never been told that. It's their policy so I rolled with it but never again. They told me it's so they can clean and set up the decorations without any interruptions but if that's the case, how about offering time slots in a way that gives paying customers 15-30 minutes before the actual party time to set up.? Or give us an option because I could have set up my table cloths, cake etc. We pay for a 2 hour time slot and 30 minutes of that is being taken away in my opinion. Our guests arrived on time looking stupid standing around while the staff is telling us "oh the kids are free to jump though!!" "You just don't have access to the room yet." So my guests are removing their socks, shoes and coats in the general area which is a zoo because it's so crowded with long lines to get in. Imagine how that looked. Tacky!!!! Never heard of that at the other places I've booked. Anyway, Karrington (the host) was great and I was very happy with how she handled everything despite how I felt in the beginning.
