They have three bounce houses and a toy section for two and under. The bounce houses are old but still in working condition. The best part was honestly the staff. Usually when I visit places for open play the staff does not interact a lot or they just talk to each other. The girls working on Black Friday were very attentive. We were there with two other boys but they kept an eye on everyone. I have a 4 year old and a two year old. When one wanted my attention the staff watched the other one. It was great. I would definitely recommend if you need to go some where to burn the kiddos energy. Check out groupon. 5 visits for $25. I did have to pay tax $2.50. No big deal. Each visit will give you two hours. It's an update! I…read moredecided to go with Hyper Kidz for my LOs birthday party. I choose the mega party package which includes 15 kids, and two pizzas, my party was held on a Sunday. Booking for the party took place online, and because I have a monthly membership, I saved 10%. When booking your party, you have the option to send out online invites, which I thought was pretty nice. Changes can be made to your party in person or via phone. The process was pretty seamless, I received text with reminders about the party (for parents to sign waivers, or to add food, etc.). Additionally, I received phone calls, in my opinion, there may have been a bit too many reminders. I say this because there is supposed to be a "dedicated party host" and I was under the impression that I would be speaking to that person. The day of the party, I was given a slip with the details of the party to include setting up of the room (five minutes) and the name of my host. They give you a cart to put your items on, and your host will decorate everything for you. The host also serves the food, and dessert if needed. My host, Mari, did an amazing job and was super helpful throughout. The pizza is from Marcos, which the children enjoyed. My only issue is that they should not state that the each child gets two slices of pizza when they cut one slice in half. I see how this may fly at a younger child's party; however, with older children (which my party had) they definitely know. The party package that I selected came with two pizzas, and that was not enough for the party. Keep that in mind when scheduling. This is a peanut free facility, and outside food comes with a $100 price tag, and that includes water folks. You can bring a cake and candles (no matches) you cannot bring ice cream. Also, despite it being not too crowded for a Sunday, the space was exceptionally warm. Apparently, there was some issue with the heating; however, the staff made it up with providing me with a voucher for a future visit. All in all, the kids really enjoyed themselves, as did the parents, and I would recommend Hyper Kidz to parents for parties in the future.

Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake was a really cool adventure for my kids. They loved all aspects…read moreof it! The adventure starts with a phone call. This isn't the type of adventure you can show up to on a whim. You have to schedule a visit in advance. I scheduled a date and time over the phone. They took my credit card info, a contact number and my kids' names. The first date I scheduled was cancelled due to inclement weather. Pirate Adventures called and cancelled the adventure about three hours prior to when it was supposed to start. I elected to reschedule right then. I was instructed to arrive a half hour before our adventure so the kids could get their faces painted and pick out a sash. We parked on the street a few blocks away not realizing they have a parking lot. We checked in, the kids were given name tags with their name and an alliterative adjective (ie Zig Zag Zora and Kung Fu Kieran) and then reported to the face painting and sash picking area. After face painting kids and adults boarded the boat and the Chesapeake part of the adventure began. The captain went over a few safety measures with the adults while his assistant went through guidelines with the kids. The adventure has a whole story with different parts involved that kept the seven kids on our adventure entertained. Ages ranged from probably three to fourteen. These parts included a map search, treasure hunt, key finding expedition, pirate fight and a final pirate bounty quest. For the adults, we just hung out under a shaded portion of the boat. I got up to interact with my kids a few times and to snap some pictures. Mostly I just enjoyed the boat ride. The whole adventure lasted almost two hours (counting face painting). If you have kids that love to pretend and don't mind riding a boat, Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake might be right up their alley.

The premise is simple: choose a piece to paint, pick your colors, and then pick up your finished piece in a week. I came here for a "Mom's Night Out" in early June and ended up painting a plate and bowl set for my son. One thing we weren't aware of is that you have to be finished your painting a half hour prior to the shop closing. I knew you had to be seated an hour before closing, but I was caught by surprise when I was told I had five minutes left to paint and the place was still open for another 35 minutes. Just be aware of the time when you're there. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience. Prices per piece were reasonable too. Also keep in mind that it takes three coats to get a nice solid color on your piece, so allow time to not only sketch and paint your design, but to give it three coats of each color as well.

We have unfortunately experienced an influx of bad weather over the last week so I knew it was likely we wouldn't be able to have his party due to it being outdoors. When I called I spoke to a woman (who I wish I asked her name) that was so kind. She apologized profusely about the weather even though it's clearly out of her control and offered to reschedule us for another time. Unfortunately that wasn't an option because of my scheduling limitations but I appreciated how apologetic she was for it. We will be back for sure to get a good race in but I really appreciated my interactions with the staff here for this particular event.
