I really like that this dog park has 2 sections : small and large dog section. There is street parking only. The size of the lots is large. However no water fountains, everything was muddy and there's no trash cans inside the lots you have to go out. read more

Close to my house and lots of street parking! Perfect for my pups. I do love the group of dog owners that come here. Fuller Dog Park is basically a large dirt lot (well two, for small & large breeds) so nothing special, but it does have benches for humans and a tent structure for inclement weather. It's a quiet part of Denver and relatively clean. Not the best but reliable! read more

Our dog had a great time here. Plenty of space to run around. The fence was secure and there were no worries of the dog getting out. There were many balls left behind that could be used. We brought our own water and toys but it's nice that there were bowls and buckets available with water. The area was clean and there was a rake and a trash can provided. There's a basketball court just outside the fence and a playground just a few yards away. I posted quite a few pics and a video to give a good idea of the area. :) read more

First time here and besides there being no small dogs to play with, I was still impressed with the size and cleanliness. The big dog park had plenty of benches and space for dogs to run. Will become a regular here soon! Plenty of parking surrounding the park even on a Sunday morning!! read more

Fuller is almost always a chill dog park packed with good boys and good girls and normal/friendly owners. I have been going several times a week, there's the occasional dog having diarrhea in the corner and no one picking it up + a few owners who should know better than to bring their terrified or aggressive dogs to a dog park but otherwise it's enjoyable. There are two fully fenced in sand dog parks for the various energy levels. Water bowls but we usually bring a water bottle to fill with. The sand makes it a mess after rain or snow. read more

This park has two nice little fenced in areas behind Manual High School. My first dog and I used to come here regularly when he was much younger and we met some wonderful dogs and their owners here. (This was before the pit bull ban, and we met so many amazing pit bulls and their owners) I decided to take my new dog here last weekend and within the first five minutes a fight broke out. There was a girl who brought her dog "Taco" to the dog park, and was mentioning that her and her boyfriend thought it was funny that everywhere they went, some dogs do not like him. When a fight broke out, I noticed that her dog was not neutered. I mentioned it to her and so did another pet parent. Her response..."he is only ten months." It is a shame that some people are not familiar with some of the dog park rules before bringing their dog to a park to socialize with other dogs. The city has had it listed as "yellow" - in danger of being shut down - for at least 2 years, but the visitors keep it clean. It need more grass, more shade, more attention from the community though to really make it shine. read more

I like that this dog park is at a park in a quiet neighborhood. It feels a bit more peaceful than other city dog parks. It's a decent size and most people clean up after their dogs. I'm not originally from the area so I still don't understand why all the dog parks in Denver are sand. Sand gets very hot in the sun and gets kicked up by the dogs running around. The sand is all over my dog's fur. I can't imagine if it rains and there's wet sand in her paws. I just don't get the sand. Lol. Other than that, which is a complaint for all Denver dog parks, it's a nice place! read more

I've gone to Fuller dog park with Barney a few times and overall it's ok but there have been a couple of times where some pretty aggressive dogs have been there. Those are always the ones with the most oblivious owners. I think people who go to these places need to understand that they still need to supervise. I also think cell phones should not be allowed. Poor barney drags his ears in the mud at Fuller and comes home filthy! read more

A little hard to find, this dog park nestled in the Whittier neighborhood could certainly benefit from more space and nicer grounds. Not to say it isn't convenient to have a dog park in a relatively nice domestic area - it's just that sand and dogs don't always mix. However, I am always happy to find a new dog park for the pups. This park, though not the best, will certainly do the trick if I find myself in the neighborhood again. But if I am going to drive a distance to a dog park like I did for this one, I would like a find the park with more space and grass. All in all, a dog park is just fine if your dogs find the social and activity activity they need. And the petty stuff is left for the humans to worry about. read more

All of these bad reviews of the park are so old, it's unfortunate no one has reviewed recently. Fuller Dog Park is a good place. Nestled right smack dab in the middle of the hood, it has a bad rep for being in the ghetto, or whatever. It's really not that bad. If you're looking for Cherry Creek or Stapleton, you're in the wrong spot, Dorothy. It's all dirt, so it can be muddy when it snows, but honestly it's not that big of a deal. People even made a cool club at the park where they all drink beers and watch their pups play after work. I think you can find out more on the facebook page. I've made plenty of friends over here and absolutely adore the fact that they have a low energy pen, which is really lovely for my tiny dog. There are water dishes, extra bags and plenty of space to run. It's a gem in the neighborhood. read more

I am a sucker of convenience. I go to the Fuller Dog Park periodically because of it's location, location, location. Located in five points, this park has an interesting dynamic. The class differential is always apparent with the more affluent dog owners caged in the interior while the five point crowd plays hoops and scrambles around in the playground on the exterior. As a rule of thumb I keep one eye on my dog and one eye on my car. Occasionally a motherless child will wander in the park to check out the dogs with dreams of becoming a veterinarian. I always enjoy a child's enthusiasm for a furry friend. Pretty close to a fenced in dirt parking lot, Fuller is one of the closest off least dog parks to Downtown Denver. I have found this dog park crowd to be much more engaging than the Boulder dog park variety. I enjoy friendly conversations and the occasional recognition. I always catch the dog's name and somehow space the human's. The dogs tend to be friendly here as well with only the random skirmish, usually with the un-cut canine. There are usually a few valiant men on hand to break up any fight and I have never seen permanent damage. Tips on the park and for the park:: It needs more shade and water for the dogs. It gets so hot out that the dogs won't play and just sloth around near their owners legs. A bench or two for the owners to sit on would be delightful. P and R took away the free poop bags which encourages the failing hygiene of the park. Stick to the middle. Dogs like to poop in the few weeds that line the fence. Also, remember to bring bags with you and left over plastic grocery bags if you can spare. I have no suggestions about the dust and mud problem. These are seasonal conditions that can't be solved without AstroTurf. There is obviously little funding for improvements. read more

The only reason I went a second time to this dog park is because it's the closest park to my house. Although my first experience there wasn't all that bad, I don't like the fact that it's just dirt, no water unless you bring your own, and no seating or shaded areas. So I went again a second time knowing the drawbacks. Our visit lasted approximately 2 minutes because my dog was instantly harassed by several big and aggressive dogs. She is smaller and very submissive, so she doesn't mind playing rough, but this time she got scared - I had never seen her bare her teeth before this encounter. The owners of the aggressive dogs didn't do anything to stop the behavior. All they did was tell me "Geez, I don't know why he's like this today." So we immediately left the park and I will probably never go there again. read more

As with all dog parks, the crowd in the evenings during the week tends to be better than on the weekends, because it tends to be more "regulars." That means the people are a, more likely to know good dog park etiquette and b, their dogs are probably better socialized than those belonging to someone who only takes their dog to the park on sunny Saturdays. Tips: #Bring bags, the dispensers are frequently out. #Bring water, there's no fountain. #Don't bring your kids. It's against the rules and a bad idea to boot. #Don't freak out at natural behaviors. Dogs are going to wrestle and mount and chew each other's faces and do other things that might look scary. # If you'd like to know my dog's name, just ask! Looking at his tag makes me feel a little funny since it not only has his name, but also mine, my phone number, and my home address. #Don't be one of those people who is constantly calling your dog's name. "Luuucy. Lucy. Luuu-cyyyyyy." It's super annoying. Especially if there's no reason for you to be calling your dog since she's having a good time playing or sniffing or whatever. #If your dog is misbehaving (jumping on people, barking) don't pet him to try to calm him down. That's just rewarding bad behavior. #Keep your dog on a leash when you're not in the fenced area. It's the law, for one. For two, your unleashed dog approaching my leashed dog makes my dog feel cornered and trapped and threatened, and that sucks. #Make sure one gate is always closed. #Pick up your dog's poop. Fuller Dog Park is a great place to take your furry friend! While it may not be all that beautiful, (pretty much just a big dirt yard) it is enclosed, and equipped with dootie-bags and trash. What else do you need? Dogs run freely within the fenced area, playing and pooping. Good stuff! The only drawback is there is no provided water for your exahusted pal after a long day of sniffing butt, digging holes and tearing around with his newfound K9 buddies. My dog loves any area that includes other dogs that like to play, and happily Fuller Dog Park is one I like too. There's plenty of places to sit and watch your dog while they roam around and play. As a kind of community "plus," there are milk jugs you can fill up at the water fountain nearby to fill the water bowls, and plastic bags to use (and re-fill!). There are sometimes folks that bring dogs that aren't very sociable, which is unfortunate, but you'll get this at any dog park and they're the minority. Sadly I heard this is "on watch" due to people not picking up after their animals (I don't notice this to be a problem). Hoping it stays around!!! read more

Not bad, considering the limited dog park options near downtown Denver. I was initially turned off by the location, but was pleasantly surprised to find the dog park itself isn't sketchy at all. In my experience, there have always been friendly, responsible fellow dog-lovers that are very attentive. The people park next door is a little shady, however... not a place I'd leave my car unlocked. It's all sand and no grass, but it's securely enclosed and safe for the critters to run and play. It's super convenient and great for those days when your dog needs to blow off some steam, but you don't want to spend all day driving to and from the 'burbs to get to Cherry Creek State Park or Chattfield. There are benches, shaded areas, poo bags and water available. Also plenty of leftover tennis balls hanging around in case you need a loaner. There's a separate small dog area, but I've never actually seen any small dogs in it. I don't think I would recommend this place if you have really little guys--the majority are big dogs. Tip: since it's all sand, your pup might get a little dirty... a small price to pay to see them have so much fun :) And definitely don't go if it has recently rained or snowed. What happens when you put a large group of dogs into a small fenced area? A dog fight. One always gets mad eventually. Maybe one dog sniffed anothers butt a little too long, or had their tennis ball stolen - either way, there's going to be a tiff at some point. But as a dog owner, it should be understood that normally it's not severe and I don't think I've ever seen a dog get hurt there. So is this the best dog park? No - but it's better than nothing. So therefore I give it 3 stars. For those of us in the city, our pups need the energy release and Cherry Creek State park is great but the drive stinks! read more

Fuller Park is the dog's meow. Mostly because it's within walking distance for me. I'm glad to have such amenities nearby. I don't know how much it has to do with the new Denver Dogs group, but the park now enjoys one bench, and a Wall Of Water for the four-legged ones. So ultimately, bring your own bags because they're frequently out; don't bring your kids; and pick off-peak times like weeknights and early weekend mornings unless you want to get stuck in a park with a bunch of panicky weird dog-owners. read more

When I don't have the time to make the drive to Stapleton dog park, I go here. It is by no means my favorite dog park but it serves a great purpose: to help the dog owners who live down town. It is uber convenient and for that plus it comes with the negative of being in a somewhat sketch neighborhood. The fenced up area is pretty small, and the surface is totally dirt, but most people who go here are friendly and I haven't seen that many problems between different dogs. I do have to say stay out the middle. I literally saw this middle-aged woman got toppled over by a group of dogs chasing each other. They totally bowled her over, both legs were up in the air and we thought she might have broken something. Thank goodness she ended up being fine, but lesson learned for those who watched. Certainly do not make a trek to visit this park, but if you live downtown, it is a good resource if you need it, but it can get quite crowded. read more

Denver could really use some upgrades to their dog parks. As I understand it, their system is still in "beta" mode and doesn't seem to be getting much better any time soon. A little water fountain, some obstacles, maybe a small-dog area would be nice. Anyway, this and the other Denver dog parks I've been to are bare bones -- just dirt and a fence. Two stars for wide-open space and plenty of plastic bags stocked. But my big furry four-legged friend gets bored very easily here. He burns off more energy running around in my backyard. read more

This review is based on one visit to the park. To my knowledge this is the only public dog park in Denver (am I wrong?) so comparing it to nothing yields a fourth star. My buddy Bucket seemed a bit disinterested in the other buddies which is very surprising seeing as how Bucket lives to play. I'm not sure why, but I'd not place it at the fault of "the park". Fuller is NOT a ghetto dog park! It is a small-space dog park that has just been renovated, It now has benches for sitting, new clay-mix that won't turn to mud when wet and beautiful berms your dogs can run over and around. It also has a new small/puppy/old dog area so special dogs can socialize in a safer environment than with ALL the dogs at the park. This summer a water jug spigot will be added to the drinking fountain located in the playground nearby and shade structures will be installed. AND new trees are being planted around the park. This dog park is a little gem in the middle of a great neighborhood with houses over 100 years old filled with friendly neighbors. Bring you doggy out to play! read more

My dog is decidedly a fan. I was originally thinking that this park was more like a 3+ for me, but when I thought about it more, I realized that this park has a lot going for it: -nice dogs, -nice people, -two different areas, a bigger area where most of the dogs go, and a smaller area for "low energy dogs," and/or where the smaller dogs go, -the smaller area is still big enough for some good tennis ball chasing, -shade in the bigger area of the park, -benches, -water bowls that usually have water in them, -usually extra tennis balls, -and usually extra plastic bags. The park is all dirt, which I don't like. The dogs don't seem to mind though, and the park is right in the middle of the neighborhood and so convenient. The park isn't the kind of place for a special trip, but is great for dogs and their people in the area. My twenty-pound mystery mix usually goes to the bigger area, but he's also had fun in the smaller area. I love that he loves this place so much, and, like my dog, I'm decidedly a fan of neighborhood dog parks. read more

I'll tell you what's worse than a dog park that is all sand. Is one that has no water, no shade, the stench of dog waste, and if you're lucky when the wind gets going, you can even get a nice tasty mouthfull of said sand. People are friendly enough. My experience is that most of the dogs run around in packs and there are some aggressive poorly socialized ones in the bunch. Not worth going out of your way. This is such a sad excuse for a dog park it breaks my heart. read more

This dog park is basically a big fenced square of dirt, with poo bags as the only amenity. No shade or benches are provided for humans, and the dogs will have to bring their own water dishes- doggie backpack time! I'll still give it a fat four stars, though, because the people are VERY friendly and a variety of dogs are always romping free at Fuller. If you have a pup like mine that's impossible to wear out, this is the spot to find playful people who'll throw a ball even for a dog that's not theirs, and similarly friendly dogs that love to wrestle and bounce around all over the park. Dogs don't seem to mind the lack of grass- all the better to get filthy in, then jump on you, especially if you're wearing light colored clothes! read more

Park is good but on the small side. Most of the people come here that were going to the Josephine Dog Park (City Park) that was closed down. Before the time change, I brought my dog here after work and the amount of dogs was unreal and almost unsafe. Lots of dog skirmishes because there just isn't room. :-/ I try to go early mornings now where the group is less. On the flip side, it is always more fun to go to a dog park that has dogs... :-) read more

Came today for the first time with my small chion who realized immediately that she could fit thru the fence. The smaller section had better fencing but zero dogs for her to socialize with. So we just made sure one of use was outside in case she tried to escape. Once she was inside she was doing alright until about ten large dogs began chasing her throughout the park! She was trampled and slammed into the fence multiple times. The dog owners didn't even try to control their dogs! Once I was finally able to scoop her up we left immediately. She had sand in her nose and eyes - extremely traumatic. Won't be coming back. read more

I've read over the other reviews of this place, and I mean seriously, what do you people except of a busy dog park in the middle of Five Points. It's a big yard, and the entertainment from the neighborhood is excellent. Middle school fights between fifth graders, the police driving through the basketball court, and then there was the lady under the gazebo that called the cops on my friend for a vicious dog. My friend's dog weighs 10 pounds. But, most of the people are really friendly and all the dogs are just happy to escape their urban houses. Except for that one lady that kept letting her dog hump my dog until I said "You know, she's going to get pissed and kick his ass." And then my dog gets pissed and kicks your dogs ass. Sorry your dogs a sissy and you were too busy on the phone. But really, this place is awesome if your dog is fixed and you realize you live in the middle of the city. read more

Fuller has a lot of cool, laid back people and their dogs but unfortunately every time we go there are a handful of dog fights that break out because some owners bring dogs that have no business being in a dog park. Last time a dog pinned my dog down on her back and had her in a lock. After this happened the owner did not remove the dog from the park. It sucks because this park is the closest to our home but it's always our last choice. read more

this place bums me out. it's terrible for little dogs because the fencing is like 8-10in. off the ground in some places. my little dewd was running around with some other dogs for a while until i noticed, then i just had to leash him and he was pissed. and then so was i. not to mention that it's basically a sand pit with no shade whatsoever. i think if i was a dog it wouldn't even be worth being off leash. read more

I really appreciate the location of this park and the friendliness of the dogs that frequent it. There's good shade in some spots and plenty of space for the dogs to roam and play. While it's smaller than the one in Stapleton I find it more enjoyable for my dog as she is typically on the shy side in larger parks such as that. Here everyone's furry friends tend to hang together which I believe is the point of the park. Anyway, it's over all a good, clean local dog park. read more

I'm psyched to have a dog park just a few minutes drive from Uptown. It's large enough for some running, and chasing, and general canine hi-jinks. The people are friendly, and the assortment of dogs is great...there are always a few interesting breeds. I love seeing a crazed poodle clinging to a running Rhodesian Ridgeback's leg. That said...there is room for serious improvement, most notably: 1) Water for the dogs. There is no water fountain or water station in the vicinity, and the dog owners have to bring their own, which on a hot day can run out quickly. 2) seating. Would it kill Denver parks n rec to put in a few picnic tables? Word of advice...don't wear flip-flops. I live about 10 blocks south of the park so its total convenience more than anything else. As one yelper mentioned, one eye on ya car and the other on your dog! Sorry to those who live right there but it is kinda sketchy, especially at night. I solely go there to exercise my dog before/after work and theres a steady stream of regulars who are mostly very friendly but you still get the odd one who doesn't pick up after their dog, has a big mouth or brings in small kids even when its posted not to. I try to do my part and bring in grocery bags once a week and recently theres been a steady supply of the black rolls of poop bags like DPR used to provide around town. They have a water bottle rack and people are pretty good about keeping it full. The notice board now claims that they plan some much needed improvements this summer like shade trees, benches, grade the surface so its not a swimming pool at the gate after it rains and a source of drinking water outside the fenced area which will be nice. The downfall of Stapelton is the water fountain has no drainage around it so it becomes one huge mud pit, thats when its turned on of course! Roll on Summer :O) read more
