Beautiful huge dog park! There's two separate areas, one with poles, tubes, ramps and another large area for running. Perfect place to throw ball for my eager lab! Sunset is beautiful since you're so close to the mountains and have a great view of the surrounding city. There's also a walking path down through the neighborhood and around the area. I just moved to the area and it's my new go to dog park

My dog highly recommends this place! He comes here all the time to gather with his friends and hang out, tell stories, and an occasional chase of a stick or tennis ball!

This is my favorite dog park in Denver hands down!has two separate areas: pro tip go to the right on if it has been raining or recently snowed, it gets dry faster.

Great out door space. The equipment is in good condition and my dog loves going here. As with any place with other animals you must watch over your pet closely as others don't. A dog was trying to attack my dog, and the owner took no responsibility, I broke it up and ended up getting bit. The owner then took their dog and ran. Shame a fun place has to ruined by sorry humans not taking responsibility for their mean dogs.

On the way home. Sad they couldn't stay all day!

This is a great park. Although I typically like something more "woodsy" this place is in a great location for me and my 3 dogs. The place is huge and well maintained. The people that visit seem to be great and well versed in dog park etiquette! My dogs love this place and it's nice that there are two separate areas for different dogs/environment! Highly recommended!

You cannot beat the views at this park! It is almost all dirt, very little grass and no gravel, so not ideal if it's rained recently. There is one huge area that has tons of running around space plus a lower part with obstacle course equipment. Then there is another fenced area that I thought was the large dog space, but there were larger dogs in both spots so I'm not sure. Since there is no designated small dog/big dog areas, I wouldn't think it would be optimal for those with very small dogs. Both of mine are between 20-25 pounds and I only saw a couple dogs that were smaller than they were. Both times I've been here it was a weekend and the other people were friendly. One time, there was a brief tussle (I use that word because the owners both responded quickly and neither dog came out hurt). I feel like no matter what dog park you go to, there is a possibility of that happening. I'm sure it's a toss up whether you're going to encounter irresponsible dog owners or not, but everyone was great the times I've been here.

It's a good size park. Not as large as some others in the metro area, but it's large enough for your furry friend to lose some energy. Parking for the dog park is tricky and limited, but I was lucky to find a spot right near the entrance. The park also has some fun competition course stuff for the pups like a seesaw, ramp, and tunnel. There is a water fountain near by, and people leave jugs of water near a few community bowls at the entrance. We'll be back for sure. I edited this a week later after I realized there are two dog parks. It seems like there is a small dog park and a big dog park. I couldn't distinguish the difference between the two. The side closer to the mountains is a little bigger, more grassy, and on a hill. My puppy was pooped after running up and down the slope. Mission accomplished.

This park was pretty neat. I loved (or I should say my GSD) that there are fountains for the dogs and plenty of fenced in area for the dogs to run and play. At the bottom of one of the fenced areas, there's an obstacle course for those wanting to teach their dogs to run a course, exercise or (in some cases) for the dog owner to stand around and look stupid...since some dogs don't want to participate. =) There is a short path (maybe 0.5 miles) that circles the park. All paved. It is a beautiful walk. The views make it easy to enjoy the walk, even when you're going up a steep part. There seem to be 2 parking lots. The one I parked in was gravel and very bumpy walk to the paved path (I had a conventional stroller with baby). The second lot (I that I didn't see) is paved and has a small sand play area for kids. One of the most important things (to me) is the bathroom (even though it's an evaporator...ew). I feel like that is far better than a smelly port-a-potty that some parks have. We have been back several times, but only to let the dog play. The trails (that I found) aren't as long as I'd prefer...and I don't really get in to walking several laps. One last thing. This park is run by the City of Lakewood. This park does not have a map of paths or distance. I've called Lakewood, they only have a large master map of all the parks in the city limits. I'm a little disappointed, because some of these parks have miles and miles of trails. If you're looking for a quick outing and a place for your dog to play, this is a great place!

The location is gorgeous, right next to Red Rocks. I love the split yard feature- A huge field on one side/ awesome agility course on the other that my Aussie had so much fun with! Cute pavilion at the top big enough for big parties. Dinosaur Ridge Mountains in the backdrop. A natural forest style hole toilet is a little bit of a bummer, and the water fountains did not work-wonder if because of time of year. One of the most irresponsible things you can do as a dog owner, is to not pick up their sh*t! Dogs feces can contain diseases like worms that can be extremely passable by just a sniff! I hated that people very "accidentally" "not noticing" their dogs popping, and had no control over crazy dogs. To add to that, a woman brought three large dogs that were intensely erratic and within 20 seconds of dragging her into the yard, one sprinted up to my dog, and snapped him right in the face! *~!Please people, if you cannot control your pet, it is not allowed in a public off leash area and that is the law!~*

Its a large park. Great view. Terrible parking if it's busy and hard to find/easy to pass. No signs Bring your own water and if it rained/snowed recently be prepared to have a filthy dog! Agility on other side is really worn down and some parts I feel are dangerous. Overall it isnt to bad on a less crowded day.

Good park but can be very muddy after a rain. The mud really cakes onto your shoes. Beautiful views of the mountains.

They have moved the parking for a further walk. Still the same old green Mountain dog park.

There is nothing more magnificent than seeing natural beauty created by our awesome God. The amphitheater was a sight to see. It's amazing that it was man made. There are a total of three marked hiking trails. We hiked the difficult and medium trails. They weren't that bad at all. The different elevation did make it tough at times, but what an accomplishment it felt when we finished. Also, the view along the way was great. So don't forget to stop and just look around! They also have an easy trail, which is nice, especially if you're taking small children. The visitor center was neat as well with some fun facts and history. There is also a Trading Post where you can purchase souvenirs. The shirts are crazy expensive, but if you shop in the clearance section, it is more affordable. If you're hungry, there is one restaurant there with reasonable prices, but of course more on the pricier side. However, I think it would add to the experience if you brought your own food and picnicked along the way or eat at the end. You can definitely spend a whole day here! It's great for a family outing, date, friends hang out, or even just to enjoy solo. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially if you're from out of town.

Also, the visitor center has a few exhibits on the history of the Red Rocks Amphitheater (and celebrities and rock stars who have performed here). But Red Rocks Park has lovely hiking trails beyond the amphitheater. Just make sure that you bring a bottle of water, hat, and sunglasses if it's a sunny day. It's also worth picking up a local map so you can estimate which hike to take based on the amount of time you have available. The trails do not provide any shade, so a hat and sunscreen are essential. If you have a few hours to spare while visiting Denver, be sure to plan a day trip here if the weather is nice!
