The X is the incorrect area via Apple Maps. Encircled is the correct location.

It's a great park but Apple Maps will send you to the wrong place on the opposite side. You want to go to Foothill Canyon Blvd past Redstone Park, not alongside Santa Fe Drive. The park is enclosed and fully fenced. In the warmer months, they have water for the dogs. But until late spring, bring your own bottle of water or your bowl for your dog. There are no trees so definitely wear sunblock or a hat. It gets cold/windy on occasion so bring layers. There are benches around the park as well as picnic tables and a funny hydrant in the middle of the park by a power line. It makes a good dog run. Great parking across the street but be aware that sometimes cars do not stop for pedestrians on your way to the park. Because it is next to Redstone, there are lots of things to do if the dog park isn't your cup of tea or someone else in your group that wants to do something else. It's a great area for activities of many different kinds - playgrounds, sporting events, skate park etc.

Beautiful view of the mountains. Walk three laps and you've gone a mile. Across the street from the main people park. Use their parking lot.

Lots of room to run.

It is hard to put into words how much I love this place but I will try. Even though this off-leash…read moredog park is about 45 minutes away from me, I purposefully make the ride just to come here because of how happy it makes my dog to be able to run around and socialize with other dogs in such a large, well-maintained area. There are other off-leash dog parks in Colorado, but none of them are even close to being as nice as this one. There is so much space to walk around, some agility training stations, Cherry Creek where the dogs love to cool down and play, etc. There is even a horse staple, obviously closed off so people and dogs can't enter, if you want to pay for some horse riding. I do see some dog owners every now and then not pick up after their dogs and please don't be those people. They even provide poop bags all over the park. There is a fee to enter the park but if you pay for your state park pass through your vehicle registration, it is free. Totally worth it in my opinion! The only downfall I can think of is that the bathroom at the entrance is the only one there and it is pretty foul, but it is a bathroom at a park so it is to be expected. Make sure to use the bathroom before coming!

My dog advised me to leave a review for his favorite place in the world, how could I deny him this?…read more I love bringing my dogs here, not only because of the vast amount of space for them to roam, but also for the little training areas they have that provide the perfect amounts of varied enrichment. I appreciate that the park is always maintained. This place is always packed on the weekends but the park has a few entrances as well that make it easier for my reactive dogs to enter. Get the annual pass, it is definitely worth it!

Also goes by Hound Hill Dog Park. This park is ok. It is on the smaller side but it does have shade…read moretrees, water stations, some benches and trash cans throughout. My dogs are bigger and need more room to run however. Important things: There are "regulars" (humans) who tend to gather in the middle area to chat which can mean they are not watching their dogs closely. Always pick up your dogs poop! There are plenty of trash cans and poop bags throughout the park. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the park, make sure your a dog is leashed the whole time. Heritage Regional Park is extremely busy in the summer (hundreds of soccer games every weekend) parking lot may be full.

Dog park area: This is an ok spot to bring your dog. There is a decent amount of room for the pups…read moreto run, lots of parking, and the location is great. However, it is sadly extremely common for people to bring unneutered and poorly mannered male dogs, who want to hump everything in sight. Since this is my go-to spot when crunched for time, I have seen a tremendous number of nearly-horrible situations, mostly caused by owners who haven't spent the time socializing or training their dogs. There is also an issue of mud. Forget about coming here when the snow is melting or after a rain. It is MUDDY. The dog park is sloped and the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, and so a lot of the water collects there. There is also no grass or gravel. All in all, it's a decent place to go, but I prefer Glendale open space because there is more room for the dogs to spread out, it's normally much drier even after the snow melts, and has a real walking path.
