This park may be a far drive for some people, therefore you may not want to take your dog but I promise you it is worth the drive! There is a cement path throughout the park which is almost 2 miles around. The ponds are great for the dogs to play in! Plenty of trees, shade and places for dogs to sniff, run and hunt for squirrels. Important things: Always watch your dog and know where they are at all times! So many people come here just to exercise themselves and don't pay attention to their dog. Always pick up your dogs poop! There are plenty of trash cans and poop bags throughout the park. If your dog likes water and you don't want them to get wet, do not bring them here. They WILL want to get into the water. It is unfair for the dog if you don't allow them to get wet just because you don't want them to. (Bring towels in your car). There are 2 parking lots and 2 bathrooms. There is a hook on the outside the bathrooms you can hook your dog on so you can use facilities.

This was this first 'place' we came as new residents of Colorado last year to take our dogs for a walk. In CA we never utilized dog parks (kennel cough, dogs attacking other dogs, small parks) We pulled into the parking lot and I think our dogs eyes we bigger than ours! We entered a beautifully maintained park. Clean. Folks picking up after themselves. The park was so large, dogs did not get aggressive. (In a years time, we have seen one episode of bad behavior) We strolled quietly by ourselves and wandered to a water area. There were dogs swimming. Owners trying to teach their dogs to swim, dogs just watching from the sidelines. (That would be our dogs) it was fabulous We have learned that there are long trails, short trails, paved trails, and dirt trails. It is a great place to let your doggies wander, and you just enjoy. **Be prepared, a doggy May run up and great you you!! They are very happy when here. So come and enjoy. Recommend: Buy the annual pass, then you must also buy the dog pass separately. You enter the left entrance and save $12 per visit. PS-- these passes work at other parks as well, we know for sure Cherry Creek.

Massive fenced, off-leash dog park with a couple lakes and lots of trees for shade. Our dog was exhausted after 30 minutes of running and swimming.

This dog park is so great! I just got a year pass to Chatfield park (~$70) and the dog park (an additional $20). The facility itself is amazing! They have trash cans and dog bags posted all around the park so you really have NO reason not to pick up after your dog. There's 2 parking lots which always have ample parking during the weekend. There's also restrooms available at both lots. There's multiple swimming ponds for you to throw sticks and balls at for your pet. The park is about 1.5 miles fully around (I think?) What's great is you can exercise/run with your dog! I always hate having to run with my 80lb lab on a leash because if he stops or runs ahead I'm always dragged along for the ride! During the summer there are a few water stations for your dog to drink at. But during the winter, I'd say around October or so they shut off the water to winterize so you'll need yo remember to bring your own water for your dog.

The dogs love it here and get a good workout with the wide space. There is water access as well as plenty of bushes to run around. It's also just beautiful to look around and the place is kept pretty clean. It's not as big as Cherry Creek, but it has plenty of paths for the dogs to traverse.

Perfect place to let your dog run wild! Huge fenced in area. Water available. Pond for the dogs to swim. And Mountain Views.

Oh this is dog heaven. There are two small lakes for the dogs to run and play. Everyone is friendly.

Great spot for a long walk and let the dogs stretch their legs! It's a lot bigger than it looks.

Large space to go, I do recommend going early morning because it does get congested through the day.

There's no dog park here? Or the directions don't take you to one. Wasted my time trying to find it, no signs no nothing. Thanks.

My dogs are bigger and need more room to run however. Important things: There are "regulars" (humans) who tend to gather in the middle area to chat which can mean they are not watching their dogs closely. Always pick up your dogs poop! There are plenty of trash cans and poop bags throughout the park. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the park, make sure your a dog is leashed the whole time. However, it is sadly extremely common for people to bring unneutered and poorly mannered male dogs, who want to hump everything in sight. Since this is my go-to spot when crunched for time, I have seen a tremendous number of nearly-horrible situations, mostly caused by owners who haven't spent the time socializing or training their dogs. There is also an issue of mud. Forget about coming here when the snow is melting or after a rain. It is MUDDY. The dog park is sloped and the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, and so a lot of the water collects there. There is also no grass or gravel. All in all, it's a decent place to go, but I prefer Glendale open space because there is more room for the dogs to spread out, it's normally much drier even after the snow melts, and has a real walking path.

Even though this off-leash…read moredog park is about 45 minutes away from me, I purposefully make the ride just to come here because of how happy it makes my dog to be able to run around and socialize with other dogs in such a large, well-maintained area. There are other off-leash dog parks in Colorado, but none of them are even close to being as nice as this one. There is so much space to walk around, some agility training stations, Cherry Creek where the dogs love to cool down and play, etc. There is even a horse staple, obviously closed off so people and dogs can't enter, if you want to pay for some horse riding. I do see some dog owners every now and then not pick up after their dogs and please don't be those people. They even provide poop bags all over the park. There is a fee to enter the park but if you pay for your state park pass through your vehicle registration, it is free. Totally worth it in my opinion! The only downfall I can think of is that the bathroom at the entrance is the only one there and it is pretty foul, but it is a bathroom at a park so it is to be expected. Make sure to use the bathroom before coming!

I appreciate that the park is always maintained. This place is always packed on the weekends but the park has a few entrances as well that make it easier for my reactive dogs to enter. Get the annual pass, it is definitely worth it!
