This was this first 'place' we came as new residents of Colorado last year to take our dogs for a…read morewalk. In CA we never utilized dog parks (kennel cough, dogs attacking other dogs, small parks) We pulled into the parking lot and I think our dogs eyes we bigger than ours! We entered a beautifully maintained park. Clean. Folks picking up after themselves. The park was so large, dogs did not get aggressive. (In a years time, we have seen one episode of bad behavior) We strolled quietly by ourselves and wandered to a water area. There were dogs swimming. Owners trying to teach their dogs to swim, dogs just watching from the sidelines. (That would be our dogs) it was fabulous We have learned that there are long trails, short trails, paved trails, and dirt trails. It is a great place to let your doggies wander, and you just enjoy. **Be prepared, a doggy May run up and great you you!! They are very happy when here. So come and enjoy. Recommend: Buy the annual pass, then you must also buy the dog pass separately. You enter the left entrance and save $12 per visit. PS-- these passes work at other parks as well, we know for sure Cherry Creek.

Really nice, spacious dog park. Plenty of places to sniff, dig, run, roll and swim…read more Having the new pass with your plate renewal gets you in fast. Stay in the left lane for that. Next..wind around a few miles to get to the dog park depending on where you enter from. It's worth the drive. Additional fee for dog park usage. The people who frequent keep things clean. Both paved and natural paths galore. It was my first time visiting with a friend and spent a few hours walking and talking while the dogs played fetch and sniffed a few things. Was a fun day for all. Don't forget your doggie bags!!!

Also goes by Hound Hill Dog Park. This park is ok. It is on the smaller side but it does have shade…read moretrees, water stations, some benches and trash cans throughout. My dogs are bigger and need more room to run however. Important things: There are "regulars" (humans) who tend to gather in the middle area to chat which can mean they are not watching their dogs closely. Always pick up your dogs poop! There are plenty of trash cans and poop bags throughout the park. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the park, make sure your a dog is leashed the whole time. Heritage Regional Park is extremely busy in the summer (hundreds of soccer games every weekend) parking lot may be full.

Dog park area: This is an ok spot to bring your dog. There is a decent amount of room for the pups…read moreto run, lots of parking, and the location is great. However, it is sadly extremely common for people to bring unneutered and poorly mannered male dogs, who want to hump everything in sight. Since this is my go-to spot when crunched for time, I have seen a tremendous number of nearly-horrible situations, mostly caused by owners who haven't spent the time socializing or training their dogs. There is also an issue of mud. Forget about coming here when the snow is melting or after a rain. It is MUDDY. The dog park is sloped and the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, and so a lot of the water collects there. There is also no grass or gravel. All in all, it's a decent place to go, but I prefer Glendale open space because there is more room for the dogs to spread out, it's normally much drier even after the snow melts, and has a real walking path.
