Not my favorite dog park. Yes it's big for lots of run and play. It's sandy dirt not much greenery at all, nor shade. It's closed as of now because people can't seem to pick up their pets waste. It's always covered in poop. There's no running water to fill up dog bowls last I Checked or bags to pick up droppings.. so bring your own. It's nice they have a separate area for smaller or low energy dogs though. read more

As of May 6th, 2024 candy is temporarily closed due to users not picking up poop. However, when it is opened it's a good place to go. There is a larger, high energy area separated from the smaller low energy area for smaller dogs etc. There are usually trash bags available. I don't believe water is available, so bring your own. It's mostly sandy/dirt, but in spring there is greenery. In general, I like it here and so do my charges. read more

There was plenty of water bags. No visible i poop in the high energy area. I loved that is a huge area for my dog to burn off her energy.

What a discovery! *insert starry-eyed emoji* My husband didn't charge our electric car enough for me to make it to Cherry Creek Dog Park, so I hopped off several exits early and searched Google Maps for another dog park. Kennedy Dog Park wasn't too hard to find, though I stopped pretty far from the actual park on a neighborhood street. I didn't realize there was a small parking lot. Oh well, my two huskies got a little more exercise out of the walk. Everyone we encountered at the park was nice. It's open early, which I appreciate. It's clean and aesthetically pleasing. Plenty of benches and dog bowls... you just have to bring your own water of course. I'd definitely come back here again. read more

My dog loves this massive dog park and I appreciate the friendliness of all dog owners on each visit! The dog park is near my house and when I load up the pup she starts howling with excitement the closer we get because she loves it there! I love most everything about the dog park but having a white dog means each visit instantly requires a bath when we get home. There isn't any grass and the red dirt loves to cling to her like white on rice but worth it! Also there is tons of room for both big and little dogs to burn off that extra energy that's bottled up during the day with two separate gated areas. All dogs are welcome! Couple of small things that might improve the park are the trash can locations and possibly having a watering station. The only dog poo trash cans are located by the front entrance when you walk in so it's always a bit smelly as well as inconvenient to toss when your pup relieves themselves 10 minutes in at the furthest end of the park :) It would be awesome to add a few more around the park which would probably help keep it cleaner as well! I know myself and others always bring water to fill up the dishes around the park for all the dogs to enjoy but sometimes forget. If there was a water spout/hose faucet near the front entrance that would be great for everyone to help keep these wild pups. Graycee is always tired after a trip to the park and appreciate it being a free spot for us to let our dogs play! Minimal improvements would help keep the park clean and a place for fun dog meetups more often! read more

Went here because of all the positive reviews on multiple platforms (yelp, google, bringfido, etc) and was very disappointed. On the positive side, the space was large so my pup could sprint around so which was nice. I won't complain about it being all dirt/mud, because it's winter and mud is inevitable plus all dirt parks are super common and my boy still has a great time at them. However, this park is definitely not maintained at all, if it is it's by ghosts who aren't able to actually do anything. The ground is covered, and I mean COVERED in poop. I'm not saying it as in someone whos offended by a dog poop. You expect it when you have a dog and go to dog parks frequently it's just part of the deal. But not here, it's like the floor is lava but with poop. You have to walk around the park staring at the ground to avoid stepping in poop. I won't entirely blame other owners, because not a single one of the provided doggy bag dispenser/trash bins (I believe I saw 3 or 4) actually had any bags available. All the rolls were completely out and from the look of it, they'd been out for a while. Ya, you should bring your own poop bags, which I do because my dog's harness has a convenient spot for them, but not everyone has that and sometimes you run out or forget. It's pretty common sense to provide them at dog parks if you would like people to keep the place nice. Clearly, there are dispensers for them but it seems that no one is actually keeping up this dog park. The people who were there were friendly. This dog park was out of the way for us, but the reviews made it seem worth the drive. Definitely not. The people who live nearby and are regulars deserve better. read more

Legit dark park and huge soccer complex right next to Walmart. They have a little section for the little dogs and a big for the bigger ones. Have never had a problem with a dog or owner since I have been going last august of 2022 read more

This dog park is good during day light hours. But during daylight savings, after 5 PM, it's already dark and this dog park does not have lights. It is super dark out there. they should consider providing lights specially if they have operating hours. read more

New to Denver and shocked all the parks don't have grass. I don't know why they city can't find it in their budget to take care of grass but it's beyond my understanding and maybe a good reason. Also no poop bags or accessible trashcans or watering. This is why I didn't give 5 stars Grass or not, tons of dogs Everytime we go, my pooch has a blast and there are always plenty of fun for her to be had. The people are nice as well. I come here almost every day. I love dogs, like alot, so that's pretty fun. The downsides - there are no poop bags, there's no grass, and there's limited shade from the aggressive colorado sun. I'd recommend going around 6:30 pm because there are TONS of dogs there and the sun is going down enough for there to be some shade. In general though, there are lots of dogs of every size and energy level, and people are usually really friendly so you can strike up a nice conversation while doggos are playing. This dog park is great because it's close to me and I'm not sure what the cost actually is. It's dirt, so beware if it rained. There's some shade, plenty of benches, tennis balls, and plenty of places to walk around. There's a high energy area and a low energy area. I like how the exit in the high energy area winds around to allow your dog to leave and not just stay. It's also great how they recognize the status of the dog park as what condition it is in. I really liked Kennedy Dog Park. I actually stumbled upon it entirely on accident while walking my dog during an oil change at the nearby Walmart, but gosh I'm glad I found it! Instead of wandering around bored for 2 hours, I got to let my dog run around and play! There's a little shelter at the entrance, tons of trash cans, and a huge space. People were nice, only downside is that with a big area less responsible owners can ignore their dogs. Usually not a biggie, I didn't encounter any aggressive dogs, but it means there can be poop piles because the owners didn't notice their dogs evacuating in the further corners of the park. Would recommend, bring your own water! read more

Found this place surprisingly a Gr8 place to bring Chuckles daily. Lotsa room, all sorts of new pups and owners, and most are super easy going /dog knowing owners (not all parks are so blessed). Altho having to bring our own water, just wish the bowls we also bring wouldn't disappear... They clean /empty the trash cans regularly to keep stench minimal, but we need to bring our own poop bags.. I mainly give this place a rave review, again, cuz the ppl and pups that come to this location are the best!! read more

We take our dog, HONDO, here at least 3-4 days a week. Overall it is a nice park, could use a little more diligence on the poop patrol, but that's my only gripe. I think people are a little too busy socializing and are choosing not to pay attention to their dogs doing their business.. come on people, we all know our dogs schedules and habits. Pay attention. And yes running water would be so nice. But people are pretty good about bringing their own and contributing water for the pups. Overall most people who come here with their furry kids are great. Most.. Of course there are a few people who retry to ruin it. Like the pretentious redheaded B with the whippet, who falsely reported to Denver Police that our "pitbull" attacked her dog. First of all, I understand based on your reaction to typical, non-aggressive, energetic dog play, that this must be your first time bringing your dog to a dog park.. so I understand that your idiocy is based on lack of experience, not on plain ole regular stupidity.. right? Second, our dog is a Catahoula. Not a Pitbull. He doesn't even resemble a Pitbull. Lady, do you even know what a Pitbull looks like? Now that I cannot dismiss as lack of experience. That is either you attempting to be vindictive after my boyfriend simply made an observation and may or may not have responded outloud of his opinion of you, after you started cursing at him.. to which you decided to make a false report to the police, or your just blatantly stupid. But I am willing to bet a little of both!? Third, you made a false report to the police against us and our dog. Which we are not too happy about, and yes we are pursuing charges against you for False Reporting, Harrassment, and Stalking/Menacing. Which I am sure you will receive notice of pretty shortly here. But in the meantime, next time you want to chase us in your car as we are trying to leave the dog park- you may want to stop and think twice about the criminal liabilities you are putting yourself at risk for.. just a thought. Don't worry we are regularly at the dog park. And we make sure to keep a close eye on our dog and his interactions. So much so that if you ask a few people we do not let him play with overly aggressive dogs that pin him down by the throat.. as we don't want him to pick up bad habits. But we, Hondo and his owners, hope see you again! And just so you feel safe we will ask him to not look like a pitbull so much next time. :-) And there are a few others- like the gray-haired, bitter lady who thinks she's the mayor of the dog park, and tries to involve herself with your dog and what you want your dog to do or not do, what dogs to play with, etc.. none of which concern her own dog mind you. Hey gray-haired lady, where were you when the redhead showed up? Maybe you could have explained to her what normal dog play looks like??! The irony is surreal. I guess overall I would like this dog park better if a few certain dogs left their owners at home ;-) but we will still come here. Following Brady K.'s advice I decided to drive a little out of way to try out this dog park and allow some brand new smells for my pup. This dog park is a sand based dog park with separate low activity and high activity areas. I enjoy sand based dog parks, less mud and a seems to stay cleaner then really green and woody parks. This park is about 1/2 the size of the Stapleton dog park, but still a very good size. The people hanging out are here are super nice and very nice to talk to, you can tell you are with like minded K9 lovers. Small sized parking lot for parking right next to the entrance so you don't have to park on the street. Happy dogs playing and have a great time leaving with happy owners. Woof Woof! read more

This is one of the closer dog parks to us and we enjoy bringing our pup here! There are two sides; a low energy side and a high energy side. Our dog is definitely a fan of the high energy side and loves to make new friends. We make new friends in the process as well, because everyone we have met here is so nice. Here are some tips for the dog park: -the parking lot can get pretty full. Especially if there are soccer games at the park next door. Parking on the side of the ride is ok and usually you can find a spot. -the park is all dirt. Keep this in mind on muddy, wet days! -not a lot of shade for the hotter days. All the dogs eventually migrate to the tiny shaded area and it can get pretty crowded. -be careful of coyotes in the area. They have been seen in the daytime in the field right next to the park. read more

Kennedy dog park opened November 2011. Over the past few months they have been slowly adding new features here and there. I kind of like the fact that they opened and then built as they went along. Heck, Bentley ain't picky. This dog park is in my neighborhood and I don't have to trek north across Quebec to get there, uggh traffic. I also like this dog park better than Lowry, because I'm lazy. Come on, if I wanted to walk and exercise my dog, I can do that around my neighborhood. Lowry doesn't have drive up parking and you have to walk a little bit to get there. I find the fellow dog lovers to be very friendly, although I did have a bad experience with this one lady when her dog kept trying to display dominance on Bentley and nipping at his neck, so I used by leg to step between them and she got mad, because she thought I was kicking her dog. I wasn't. I've also heard some who want grass at a dog park. In my opinion, its a bad idea. In the summer months, dogs need to get their play on towards the evening and grass would only invite mosquitos for all. They just recently added rocks, because early this winter it snowed than it got sunny and all the water had no where to go and it just sloped right to the entrance. I assume this was an architectural oversight. Also of note is that they have two separate dog areas. One for high energy dogs and one for low energy dogs. Often times when dogs harass Bentley or if Bentley can't stop humping, we will go to the low energy area. Yes!, I'm the first to yelp this place! read more

This is one awesome dog park. Fantastic dogs - a ton of them, too - and really nice owners. I haven't had such a nice time chatting with people at a dog park in a really long time. Kennedy Dog Park is a great size with lots of room for pups to run, roam, jump and play. Love it! My only wish would be a water fountain - all the pooches were dying of thirst and constantly digging their noses into the empty bowls on the ground. It wouldn't have made a difference today, as I believe fountains around town are turned off on Oct. 1, but it would be great for summer. read more

Since I'm not familiar with dog parks, I don't have a lot to say about this one. The parking area is usually full, the low energy size is usually empty and the animals are usually running free on the high energy side with the owners doing various things, some more attentive to their pets than others. I'm sure dog owners telling you how to enhance the obedience of your own dog is probably a common occurence at the dog park so this one is no exception. I'm a bit antisocial so I stay on the low energy side, though, our dog is definitely not that but it's usually just me on that side so it works out. The park does provide cans for trash and poo and visitors have left balls to toss. There is no water access. It's pretty much all dirt with a few large rocks and benches. There is a small, covered sitting area on the high energy side. read more

This was my dogs' first time at a dog park. It was nice, not huge, but not small. they have a chamber entrance that is a holding area before you enter or exit the dog park, so you are not letting out other dogs. The landscaping is cool, lots of rocks and natural peaks and running areas. My only criticism is that it seems like little dogs and big dogs should be seperated. My dogs were really overwhelmed by the whole thing, it was a little embarrassing how close they stayed to us. I thought they would be too aggressive, but it was opposite. I am going to go back, to ease them in. I think we will try to go when it is a little less crowded, maybe early weekend morning or a rare weekday when I am off. read more

Great dog park; I'd highly recommend it except for two things... 1. no running water. There's irrigation completely surrounding the park, so I don't see why there isn't one faucet there. 2. the park is rendered useless during the work week in the winter because there are no lights. a flood light or two would do wonders read more

This dog park is closest to my house. Wide open dirt fields for high energy and low energy dogs. Hardly any shade because the gazebo is in the high energy section. There isn't a water pump, so pack in your own water. The city of Denver does not provide poop bags, so bring your own, although people have brought grocery bags and left them there. Protect yourself from the sun. No one seems to do that. There isn't any shade. The few benches they do have are completely exposed to the sun. read more

I was a little apprehensive in taking my dog here. I read a few stories on the Nextdoor website about people with aggressive dogs not there. My guy had only 3 legs, is super friendly and very high energy. Well, took his there last Saturday to check it out and we had a good time. He played with a bunch of dogs. People that I met there were very nice as well. I took him to the smaller section. He tends to do better with dogs his own size ( He's 18 pounds) . I still prefer Cherry Creek off leash park due to the fact that it's huge and he can play in the water there etc. But I will continue to come here as well. This is the closest park to me and I like how it's low key. It has a list of rules but I've seen many of them violated especially the one about no kids under 12 to go there. My dog started chasing a preteen girl who was running--2 no-no's there--and he knocked her over. You do enter at your own risk. I like the sand because it makes poo easier to clean. Bring your own water and poo bags. Some dogs paw at the water and spill it all but I bring a 5 gallon cooler and my dog and others can enjoy water this way. Nice people but little shade. Go early if you have a hairy or black dog :) read more

This is by far the best dog park I've been to in Denver. My two dogs just LOVE it!! No matter what time of the day you go there are tons of dogs to play with and it is very big and fenced in. The sandy material on the ground is awesome for the dogs except it gets kinda muddy when it rains. But it's an outside dog park so no matter what they put on the ground it would probably get muddy. This is a great dog park, especially because it's free! I still can't believe some parks you have to pay for in Denver. I don't think so Denver. This one's free and five minutes away! What exactly do I like about this park? There are surprisingly many! Kennedy Park has two sides to the park: A high energy side and a low energy side. So, if you and your dog can't handle many big dogs running about then you have an option. One thing I dislike about other dog parks are that they can get pretty muddy and very messy. Here the ground is covered with sand so it minimizes the mess! I just towel off my dogs paws before she gets in the car and she's fine. There is also plenty of space to walk your dog and have them run around. It is all fenced in of course so you don't have to worry about them running out. Also the dogs all seem to be nice for the most part. Having a small dog it can be worrying to have many big dogs around but we haven't had a problem and if so the owners were always close by. The only thing that is a slight negative is that there seems to be a coyote who hangs out outside the fence. But if you keep your dog on it's leash when outside the park then things should be fine. Kai is always excited to come here. She loves the balls all around and there are enough for everyone :) read more

This was a great park overall! Only downside was having children present. I believe it is actually against the rules. The two little boys and one little girl kept trying to tug on dogs' ears, tease them with tennis balls they hoarded, and just generally cause issues. Of course it's mainly the fault of the mother who was there (and not watching them), but I wish there could have been some more enforcement of the rule. read more

This is your basic fenced, dirt Denver dog park. It is a good size and does have a separate fenced area for low energy dogs. There is a small covered area with 2 benches, but that is the only shade available on hot days. Be sure to bring your own water because there is no running water in the dog park. If it snowed or rained recently, be prepared for mud. Lots of mud. It can be a little tricky to get in/out of the dog park if there are soccer games in progress (the dog park is by several soccer fields). read more

I give this three stars because this is a nice park but it has become a mud pit when you take your dog there and you go back to your car you're covered in mud both you and your dog we need to do something. Wood Chips Pea Gravel anything would be better than mud read more
