Everyone has always been friendly, and the terrain is easy to walk around. A bonus is that since it is a converted baseball diamond there are fewer chances for your dog to get muddy.

It's behind a few really large apartment complexes so that ensures it will get action. I went at 3:30 (it's winter now and gets dark at 4:30) and this was a great time to go (right before dark). About a dozen+ dogs were here and same goes for their owners. Large Vs small sides but very few dogs on the small side. A woman said that it's pretty busy in the morning and right before dark but dead during the day. Very clean, dog poop bags provided, and ppl seem cool. So far so good.

On the Southwest side of downtown Denver, this park has a pretty stellar view of the city and a nice lake nearby. There are fenced play areas for doggies to roam free and forget about puppy problems puppies face. The splash pad is seen within the park, and it's very useful for dogs to have more to do than just run around. This park is a much needed space for canines all around, and bring communities together. I like that it is also bike friendly and also close to the campus in Downtown Denver. There is seating areas with shading and also open from 5am-11pm daily. I found that there are play areas with "Low Energy Play," and the fence divides the sections. I enjoy seeing how organized the park is. There are little doggy waste poles all around the park that is also useful. This park is also helpful to students with dogs and homework time. Very quiet for homework and studying. This is one of my favorite doggy parks.

The location is easy to get to with plenty of available parking. However, I wish there was a doggy potty area by the entrance, it's just concrete. The hours are fantastic, from 6AM - 9PM. I have only used the day care service. Note, if you drop off before 7AM and/or pick up after 7PM there is an additional $10 fee. Skiptown is the only place I've found in the Denver area with daycare pick up after 7 PM. Most of the time when I drop off other than early morning there has been a wait for my dog to taken back. To get started you need to download the app. Everything is done thru the app - scheduling daycare, payments, vaccination records & arranging a first time observation visit, which is required. The staff is super friendly & attentive. There have been a couple times that Skiptown called with concerns about my dog. And that I greatly appreciated. Overall, a great choice for doggy daycare.

Evidently you have to drop off during a very narrow window (7-815) which is great if you live in city limits & between Colfax and North Denver....not as great if you live in a northern suburb & are looking for a day care nearish to downtown. The staff that greeted me was a bit standoff-ish and not super friendly. I booked a drop off on a saturday (or thought i did at least) & has stopped by around 10 ...nope that's when i was informed about the narrow window and that "the app can be glitchy"... Speaking of the app, i was under the impression her first play was free, but was charged $45 for the visit...it's a cool concept but a bit pricey especially for those rare visits when i need something closer to where im going to be instead of her usual day camp.

The location is convenient and the lake itself makes for a nice little escape. That said, the insane amount of geese poop everywhere is hard to overlook. It's pretty much an obstacle course trying to avoid getting it on the bottom of your shoes, which definitely takes away from the experience. Parking is also becoming increasingly sparse and difficult to find, especially when it's busy. All in all, it's not a bad location for a quick walk and something to eat in the vicinity, but there are definitely a few annoyances.

What this park offers: A nice walk in the early morning, called the ART WALK, circumventing the entire park, around the skate/bike area, circling the Civic Center and Police department, up past the Pavilion, returning to either parking lot. There are extensive Jungle gym play areas for the kiddos, ball Park, Volley Ball net over sand, several large green pasture areas with rolling hills to play ball with your dog, "Keep your Leach and doggy bags ready!!" AND, there are two Pavilion areas, one with an outdoor grill, bring your own charcoal. Smaller area for gatherings of choice, no reservations necessary, or check with the Civic Center at 1800 North Harlan Street at the front desk. This is a Lakewood City Park. Some people love their dogs to play, others, just keep walking with a leach attached to your dog This is a dog town, possibly more than kids, small - quaint, if you might react to the Skunk weed, bring a mask, at times the area air is a bit Skunky.... Great workout in the early morning or the cool of the night, as I stated, at 2-3AM people are out in the quiet of the night, full view of the Stars and Moon. Walker Branch Park is NOT an off leash dog park, yet most are friendly and many meet up for dogs to have some fun and freedom Aspen loves the early morning "Orange Ball Play" and sometimes we meet up with another doggy for a doggy romp as we leave for Arvada where there are plenty of "Off Leash Dog Parks!" They have many of the amenities you'd typically expect at a park: picnic benches, baseball fields, basketball hoops (no full court), a playground. There's even an area for volleyball and a roller hockey rink. However, what makes this place unique is the fact that there's a skate park in the middle of it! I can barely stand on a skateboard, let alone do a trick on one, but I still think it's pretty cool that this exists. It's not anything too crazy but it seems like it would be a lot of fun. I walk my dog around here sometimes and it's always entertaining to watch people skating around.

The park is located 1 block from Historic Old South Pearl Street, which is loaded with fun things to do. The neighborhood usually sponsors an annual Easter egg hunt for kids under 12, which is definitely thrilling to watch. The park also shows movies and has music occasionally, but could do more to improve entertainment options during the summer months. The Fleming Mansion, Senior Center, and Decker Library are all located at the north end of the park. So if you are in the neighborhood grab some drinks, a pizza, a book, or all three, and have a little picnic in this hidden Denver gem!
