Bought a Blue Max floor lamp almost a decade ago and we've had good use of it. However, the switch is broken now and I need a replacement. Should be simple, right? I mean, there's quite a few "how to" you tube videos on how to install a new Blue Max switch. But try to find the part, good luck. When I've tried to phone, the connection immediately drops, so voicemail isn't an option. Have tried the email listed, but I'm not holding out hope. 20 years ago I bought one of their full spectrum floor lamps and we loved it. Recently the lamp stopped working so I ordered a new bulb, but that did not fix the problem. So I tried calling them but there was never any answer or voicemail. Then I tried emailing them and the email was returned. Finally, I tried contacting them using their contact form and I haven't heard a peep from them in over a week. I was hoping they could tell me where I could get it repaired cuz I tried the local lighting stores and they said they don't repair full spectrum lamps. I don't know where to go now for repair. They responded quickly when I bought the light bulb but now I've been ghosted by them. Not sure what's going on. Be wary! read more

Their web site says, "Email Us - We will reply to all emails within 48 hours." That is not the case with me. I called the Customer Service phone #. It rang twenty times before the message machine kicked on. I bought a lamp from them several years ago. The ballast failed within a few weeks and they sent me another one, but the lamp was never as bright again. Also, the cover over the gooseneck part of the lamp is broken and shedding chips of plastic. It is now an eyesore. There has to be someone making a better product. The phone message that I left at least a week before I sent the email was never responded to, that is why I had to send the email, because it became obvious that no one was ever going to respond to my phone message. The fix that was offered me was that I could by a slitted piece of the stuff that is falling apart and I don't want more of that and I don't want a piece that is slit from end to end and will gape open like the eyesore it is. I already got a new ballast and the lamp While I appreciate your small attention here, an offer to spend more money with you is not what I am looking for. I bought one of their dimable desk lamps back in 2005, and it still works in 2018 (13 years later). I replaced the bull twice in 13 years, once because I broke the bulb moving. I think they are a good company. They always answer the phone during business hours when I call, and I think their other products are of good quality. 1000Bulbs doesn't sell CRI 90+ bulbs at 5000K, but Full Spectrum does. So I continue to shop at Full Spectrum when I want high-tech bulbs with high kelvin and good light signature. read more

i have a blue max floor lamp, from full specrum. i have owned it just shy of 3 years, the light went out. i called, found out i was still under warranty, a new ballast and switch being sent to me, cost shipping. this unit is great, i have it on for more than 8 hours a day usually. the amount of light given off illuminates my living room. light therapy is one of the benefits this unit also gives. my unit is nickled polish, they also sell whit and black finish. my experience with customer service has been excellent. friendly couteous , professional. if one has a problem they have great knowledge and will help you. go to their website and see their customer list. very impressive. excuse the mess read more

Full spectrum Solutions sold me a very effective floor lamp in 2009 (yes I am getting around to reviewing only now.) I've had it for three or 4 years now, and while the flourescent is just beginning to fade, it has been a very good deal. The light rendering is very accurate, as advertised, and it was a very effective light therapy lamp during the cloudy winters. It's also a good task lamp (though one of their desk lamps would be more useful for this) that made working on small electronics and big puzzles a lot easier. They sent me a replacement ballast as well when mine failed. People are often surprised how these can fail (the ballasts on CFL bulbs are poor quality and fail all the time, which is why they buzz and produce ugly flickering light). Their ballast has been a champ and I have been very satisfied with the purchase. It has even been dropped a couple times by family who don't realize how important it is to me, and although I've winced, it kept going like nothing ever happened. I highly recommend their lamps based on my experience, and plan on buying one of their multiple color temperature lamps in the future. Oh, and they are better than Ottlite (not as good a value), Verilux (terrible light quality and cheaply made; glaring), and Sunbox (whom I like because they are a Maryland producer and make good stuff, but the variety and value isn't there. And Sunbox doesn't have as much innovative solutions). I'll modify this review if I find someone doing this better, but I've looked and haven't seen it yet. read more

My medical doctor diagnosed me with Seasonal Affective Disorder and told me about this company and I bought a desk lamp for myself years ago. I love it so much and use it every morning, especially in the winter and especially once the time "falls back" to daylight savings. We live in the upper midwest where we rarely see the actual sun for months. As my children became adults, we realized they also needed the health benefits of the full spectrum lights and I purchased three more. We had a problem with one of them and the company quickly resolved the matter in a very friendly manner. I pride myself on being a very informed consumer and I really appreciated the scientific articles within their site. I truly see a health benefit. The BlueMax floor model 70 watt lamp is advertised with a 'lifetime warranty". My lamp broke in half! A structural piece holding the two lampost pieces together broke. It is a cheaply made plastic insert. I contacted customer service via email and reequested a replacement part or repair of the lamp. Angela Jaworski replied and stated that the lamp in fact has no warranty. She offered to sell me a new lamp with a 10% discount. _____________________________________________________________________ OK- final update here. In all fairness, Angela did work with me and ultimately I did get the replacement piece to repair my lamp. She was able to get the part pulled from the assembly line and sent to me (under warranty), I paid shipping. This was much better for me than returning the lamp to them for an exchange with a sizable charge! I still do not know what the warranty covers. They mentioned the switch and ballast having lifetime warranty. After taking the lamp apart, it was constructed better than I originally thought. The plastic insert that broke could be redesigned slightly and the lamp would be much stronger. Remember, mine originally broke just sitting on the floor! I repaired the original broken insert with a 1/2 copper pipe coupler. Expanded the ends just slightly, inserted it into the broken halves, and used JB weld to hold it all together. Fit perfectly and that fitting is now indestructible! After all this, I am satisfied with the outcome. Originally being told replacement parts were unavailable I was upset. Our new lamp was great until the ballast failed a few months later. A new ballast was shipped to me under warranty. All was well until the warranty ran out - then the ballast failed again. We didn't even us the lamp all that much - not even enough to use the spare bulb we bought. I'm not willing to pay for another ballast which, I suspect, will just eventually fail again. The whole lamp is going to the dump. read more

Paid shipping to return the light and was informed that another light they had (by their customer service rep) was the correct color i was looking for. Ordered the light, opened it up and it was also the incorrect color. would not agree to pay for the shipping of the light back. I. My 1st experiences with them: I bought two models of their lamps, but w/in ~weeks each was having flickering lights and sometimes they just turned off (nothing else in the room turned off or flickered). They replaced the balasts, which meant I had to install the new ones (not easy on one of the lamps...). Soon I had the same problems again, and again the ballasts needed replacement. This problem continued for quite some time and they tried to blame the electrical system, but, I had one lamp at home and the other at work in another town, and I never had that issue w/any other lamp/device. Eventually we got some working ballasts. II. A. Given I didn't compare these lamps to the competition and it had been years since the original issues were solved, I finally decided to give them another try when a refurbished model was being sold by them, but prior to buying I asked if it was in as good a shape as a new one or more likely to break. They emailed me the former, so I bought it. The light it put out was more harsh than the original. I even swapped bulbs, to verify it wasn't the refurbished lamp, and even tried an unused bulb I had from years ago. Customer service tried to blame the amount of time the bulbs were used, but that didn't hold w/the unused bulb.... They did send me bulb replacements, but the new ones were just as harsh, so I'm using this lamp with the old unused bulb, but when that bulb goes, I'll not know what to do. B. 1. It was used for a few days per week for 3 months, then not used at all until 8.5 months later. At that point I was gently adjusting the flexible arm when it snapped. How can it snap? It was hardly used and I was gentle, and I have used these lamps for years w/o that problem. I believe prior to it being refurbished, it wasn't treated gently, and it was already in poor shape but it went unnoticed. (This reminds me of how someone might try to open a jar, then another person tries and it is easy because the 1st person loosened the jar). I contacted customer service who claimed structural damage isn't warranted. What?!? They offered a different [colored] lamp as a replacement, but I wanted the same color and for them to give me a prepaid shipping label. They refused to send this label but eventually agreed to send the same color lamp. Note: I often would wait weeks for a reply email, they'd often not return phone calls (I always got voicemail for the person they assigned to me), and I'd have to keep contacting them many times, and so much time was wasted. Very frustrating! 2. The replacement arrived, but it lacked screws to securely put it together! The top of the lamp arrived w/major scratches! It did include a bulb, but it was in many pieces, leading to glass on the floor and mercury in the room! I've tried many times to contact them about this, but they will not reply to emails or voicemails. I strongly suggest no one uses this company unless their executive management changes. read more
