    Sunomono salad

The food wasn't the best. I ordered the golden phoenix roll. It has about 3 to 4 Sauces on top, which is overwhelming. A lot going on for the roll. We can tell they didn't use the best quality of the ingredients. Our cucumbers were mushy and not cry ch and crisp. We ordered a sunomono salad and it tasted off. Again, cucumbers were mushy, and not crisp. Didn't feel or taste fresh at all. The service was okay, not the best, but not extremely terrible. Overall I wouldn't go back. There are better options in Turlock that are similarly priced. We paid $70 and sadly wasn't impressed.

I've been going to Fuji sushi for 13 years, and I have never been disappointed!!! Covid did messed up the dine in, but they did their part to do call in and pick up orders. Other places in turlock didn't. But now they still have the best customer service! I got greated in with a option of a booth or the bar.

2 for $34 from right to left (baked mussels app, sunset roll, cali roll and lion king roll. Added on smokey joe)

Our regular place wasn't open, so we stopped over at fuji sushi. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were sat right away. They have a special 2 for $34 where you get 4 PC california roll, a choice from listed appetizer and then a choice of 2 rolls from a limited sushi menu. We decided to do the baked mussels, sunset roll and the lion king roll. We also added on a smokey joe. The baked mussels come with 4 pieces, topped with spicy mayo and tobiko. They are delicious! The sunset roll is deep fried with spicy salmon inside and avocado and chopped scallops on top. The lion king is a california roll with salmon and baked. Smokey joe is also california roll based, with smoked salmon and thinly sliced lemon on top. My favorite was the lion king, but both my girls really liked the sunset. Service was great! Fast refills and always asking if we needed anything else. I ordered the tempura combo to go for my husband. 2 shrimp and 4 veg for $8. He said the dipping sauce was one of the best he has had and he enjoyed the different vegetables.

This place is located in a very awkwardly placed business complex. The walls inside are also painted a weird washed-out pastel green. Maybe it's a personal thought, but the wall colors make the food seem bland. The atmosphere of this place wasn't too impressive or inviting. The staff are helpful and attentive. They're great! Plus you can see the sushi chefs do their magic right in front of you, especially if you sit by the bar. This restaurant is probably the best priced sushi restaurant around. They pack a bang for their buck, for what they're offering. I got the fried calamari and there was a decent amount for its price but it seemed just slightly undercooked for me. I wanted the tempura batter to be a little more golden but that's just a personal preference. I also ordered a Kawaba beer (imported from Japan) and it was $8, which I felt was a little pricey for its size.

Very good food and service. The bad thing is that every time I go back it's more expensive...

    Good green tea.

Friendly and fast service. They were packed. I thought the fish had no taste. Bitter taste to the shrimp tempura. The sauces were not tasty. I had baked muscles, Fuji roll, and lobster tail roll. The place was pretty clean.

Great service - friendly. But the food was different. The lunch box special I ordered had jet black grill marks nearly burned through the salmon. The salmon smelled burnt and tasted burnt but was not burnt outside of the grill marks. I ate it.

Great sushi option in Turlock. I tried a different sushi place and the sushi wasn't as good and the customer service was not good at all. I'm so glad I found Fuji Sushi as an alternative options!! I have a gluten allergy and I've always felt ok after eating her, also I ask for no sauce.

I was really looking forward to review tonight's dinner with more than three stars but unfortunately I am unable to do so. The staff was attentive and friendly. They topped our waters often and made sure to ask if there was anything we would like. There seems to be quiet a bit of foot traffic in the restaurant, and they handled togo orders and walk in diners with ease. Unfortunately the ratings for today would have to be for the meh in food. I was really hoping all the positive reviews given to this location were forsure going to make this restaurant and new favorite or ours but there was just a similar taste in all the rolls that were ordered. They have a pretty limited variety of rolls to order. Most of them with the same ingredients just slightly different. There was no wow factor here, even in the plating. Our order for a group of three was; Miso soup Goyosa calamari Fuji roll Lion king Red dragon Dynamite Volcano T&t roll The miso soup and goyosa we're our favorite for the evening. The goyosa was crispy and the sauce was tasty. The calamaris was okay. It needed a different type of sauce to really bring out the flavor of the calamari. The first three rolls that we were serve were the T&T, Fuji & Red dragon. Out of all three the red dragon was the best but honestly the taste of all of them was basically the same only differences, 2 had tempura one didn't. The next three are Lion King, Dynamite, Volcano. The lion king was probably the best out of the three but it needed some more sauce on top. The dynamite was my least favorite of the night. It had too much tempura and it really made it taste like dough. Not tasty at all. They were very mediocre rolls that didn't leave a wanting to return and grab sushi again. Honestly over priced for the quality that is produced. The inside has plenty of tables but the front of the sushi counter was crowded with take out containers. It made the restaurant look unorganized when you first walk in.

When I got there, there were still some empty open tables, however, as I was leaving, it seems like they're just about all filled up. I got the Mr. milkman cocktail and it was pretty tasty, although I did notice how it appeared, as if there were a lot of wines and other beverages that they were out of. Even with my cocktail, they had to substitute the base with soda water, although it was still tasty. There was probably about 7 to 8 wines/sakes that were crossed out on the menu. Food came out fast, and the service was decent on that chefs end. I got the Korean Stone bowl dish, and It was pretty tasty, although fairly expensive for what it was... rice, veggies, and a little bit of beef, but I do like the concept of having a hot bowl that progressively warms up the rest of the food inside. I really do wish there was more meat inside for the price, I feel like only two or three bites had beef. One thing that I really noticed (and I think I noticed even more because I was sitting at the bar) was how servers and the bartenders spent a lot more time conversing with their friends (who were sitting at the bar) then checking in on some of the other people. Someone did approach me to put in my drink order, but I flagged down the server to put all my other food orders in. I don't think anybody came and asked how my meal was either. I do enjoy the overall ambience of the place, dim mood lighting, a minimalist esthetic, and a bar that really nicely displays some of their high end liquors.

The restaurant is nestled in the cute downtown area of Hughson, their main street. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the staff and seated right away. We were there on a Thursday evening about an hour before closing, but the restaurant was packed with customers. The menu has an extensive selection of Chinese and Japanese dishes. I had the Bruce Li roll which had tempura shrimp topped with crab meat, salmon, tuna, spicy mayo and unagi sauce. I also 2 pieces of the Hamachi (yellowtail), miso soup, and spicy edamame. The fish was some of the freshest I've ever had - flavorful, definitely sushi grade, and I could tell that it also wasn't previously frozen due to the color and texture. The miso soup and the spicy edamame were well-seasoned and delicious. My nephew had a combination plate with orange chicken, broccoli beef, and chicken fried rice. One thing to note that was really nice is that the restaurant allows you to create your own combination plates, they're not set items with no substitutions. When our waitress brought my nephew's combo plate, the food looked freshly cooked and delicious! He ate every bite! Sushi restaurant or a nightclub?…read more My friend and I decided to go for a night out Downtown. When we arrived at about 7:00pm, we were told there would be about an hour wait. Despite this long wait, there were actually quite a few empty tables, but was overall still very busy. When you put yourself on the waitlist, they notify you through text when your table is ready. This gave us ample time to walk around Downtown while we waited. When we received the table-ready text (just short of an hour later), we were sat quickly in a nice U-shaped booth. This seating arrangement felt a bit awkward for a party of two, especially if you are sharing food. The booth is too big to be sitting close enough to reach but too small to not feel awkward. It is perfect for people watching though since the booths face the entire restaurant. By this time, the restaurant was completely packed, with just about every booth, table, and barstool occupied. Our waiter came quickly to take our drink orders. We got a Cucumber Martini and an Espresso Martini. The Cucumber Martini was incredibly light and refreshing. The Espresso Martini was not impressive. It didn't have a strong espresso flavor and was rather watery, but still alright. This is the type of restaurant, that especially on busy nights like this where they don't accept reservations, you should allocate a lot of time for the dinner service for. There is a significant time gap between each time the waiter comes around to take your order. There was probably 15-20 minutes between placing our drink, appetizer, and meal orders. This was not a problem for us, but if you are eating here before making a show at the Gallo Center, this may be something to consider. For our appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Ceviche. It was insanely good. It was subtly spicy and citrusy. The chips that came with it were light and not oily at all. I wish the portion was larger because the two of us swallowed it up in just a few bites. For our entree, we got the Salmon Tataki and Goodi Rolls to split. They were both very good and came out on a lovely platter. They tasted very fresh and high quality. The prices here are on the higher side but is nice for a special occasion or splurge. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. He was super friendly too. The restaurant was super lively. They were playing club music which was totally a vibe. It looked like this was the spot people hit before going out for the night. I noticed they were accommodating for both small and large parties, serving both rather quickly. I'll be back!
