If I could leave 0 stars, I would. When I initially walked into the restaurant, I was not greeted. Although it appeared that most customers had already received their meal while others were preparing to leave, they were noticeably busy. There was one customer standing near me who was being helped with his to-go order. Once she was done assisting him, I went to ask her If the one empty available table of four was available to seat my party of four, and she said to wait while she made sure...she came back shortly and directed us to seat ourselves (which was no problem at all). We have been there numerous times before, and we have seated ourselves almost every time. We placed our order around 4:45pm and received our first appetizer (mixed vegetable tempura) rather quickly (which was nice). 2 of 4 people received their food within 20 minutes of being seated. When she brought their food out, she informed us that our food would be "coming right up", so they began eating their food. A large family of 6 came in and was seated, ordered and received their food (multiple sushi rolls, appetizers, and 2 bento boxes) and our 4 rolls and baked mussel appetizer was still not ready, so I asked another server if she could check on our food. She came back and said, "they should be right up". At this point, 2 of our party of 4 had finished their meal and our rolls & mussel appetizer still hadn't come out. I got up and walked over there to speak with the waitress directly, and she said that "there was a miscommunication with the Chef and all the waitresses. They told [her] that [our] food was coming right up, but they weren't. Some chefs prepare meals much slower than others and [we] happened to fall under the much slower chefs list of orders. We also had a rush of online orders that happened to come in right before [us] that had to get done." She also mentioned that "because [we] ordered the baked mussels and two of [our] rolls were baked, that added on an extra 20 minutes of prep/cook time." I told her that could have easily communicated to us when we arrived at the restaurant that they were behind, swamped with orders and there may be a delay in when we would received our order. It is all about customer service. I informed her that I no longer wanted my rolls prepared as I would not be eating and to only make my husband's. We ordered two of the specials that came with rolls, an appetizer and soup/salad...because we ate the appetizer and the baby ate some of the salad (that I didn't eat because I didn't want to get full before the rolls came out), they removed those items from the $32 special and charged us in full for the items that we had (partially) eaten. I was all hyped up. I really wanted this place to be good but unfortunately it was just ok. I got a dragon and a california roll and my friend got a bento box with chicken katsu. We were starving so I totally blew it and didn't take pictures. My California roll was lame, there was more philly cheese than anything else. I get it inflation and what not, but come on... a little more crab and less cheese would be great. The service was just okay. Nothing above and beyond. I always get the stink eye when i asked for spicy mayo. Note, I always spend more than $30 every-time i place an order here. This has been a spot i usually go to when i'm feeling like sushi and they've never disappointed! It also has the best spicy edamame i've had and is definitely my favorite! My wife asked me why we don't come to this sushi joint. Today, we found out why. My family and I were at the optometrist office a few doors down. We decided to stop by and have some sushi. The wife ordered a spicy tuna roll while I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch special. Let's start with my wife roll. She said it was ok. Did say a bit too much rice. Usually love Fuji, actually it has been my go to for sushi. I got four rolls and they tasted sour, and the mayo looks curled. I called and asked if they had changed the mayo and the lady said no it the same. I told her I was disappointed because we go often and the rolls were inedible and the only thing she said was that they hadn't had any complaints today.
