Teriyaki Chicken
James A.

DAAAANG! It's SO nice to have a place close by that serves great teriyaki. I've been here a few times now and the quality of the food has been 100% consistently very, very good. And most importantly, the cuts of meat they use for their dishes are top notch! I usually go with either the teriyaki chicken or chicken & steak. I've never been disappointed. Why the 4-stars then, you ask? Well, what has also been 100% consistent here, is the less than friendly staff who work the counter. It continually changes, which is not a good sign. The person working the counter today got way too flustered by an order mistake, and even the customer (who was not being difficult) told her to calm down. Following this occurrence, the counter person had a bit of an attitude. Sheesh! Is this gonna stop me from patronizing this place in the future? No. But it sure would be nice to come in here and be served by some happy, friendly faces... for ONCE! ANYways... Go here.

ORDERS: - BBQ Eel Bowl - Tokyo Steak & Veggie Bowl - Volcano Roll - Chicken, Steak, + Tempura Bowl - Green Tea All the bowls were delicious and filled! Quality meats and flavor! I really like their steak and eel. The chicken could have used more flavor but overall cooked well. The volcano roll was my fav cause it's baked scallops and they were fresh. Quick service, friendly staff.

I tried their salmon bowl with rice and imitation crab. The food itself was fine as it had flavors you'd expect from the fish and crab, but nothing more. The service was alright and the price was expensive for what was a small bowl of food with thinly sliced salmon. The interior was old and there was no restroom, so I wouldn't recommend dining inside.

Chicken lunch box

Placed a phone order, customer service was good and the staff were nice. Grabbed sauces to go. Food was yummy and the price was good with a decent amount of food. I got the chicken lunch box plate substituted rice for all veggies for .50 more. $11.49

The interior is fairly standard, but it's always clean, which is nice.

Fuji Grill never disappoints. I love their chicken balls and the price is extremely fair. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and the rice is always cooked perfectly. The employees are always happy to help with any additional items that I may need. I come here at least a few times a week so I hope thank you so much appreciate it. Thank you. The ambience of the restaurant is fairly straightforward. Nothing to flashing. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody and get the chicken bowl

Volcano Roll - Baked Scallops
Tommy L.

For as long as I can remember--even back when I was a waiter in the '80s at Coco's--I've loved baked scallops. I used to eat them all the time on my breaks, and that love never faded. Now, every time I go to a sushi spot, I always order a scallop roll. And as weird as this may sound, out of all the sushi places I've been to, Fuji Grill has one of the best baked scallops--even better than some high-end sushi restaurants! The Volcano Roll is a baked scallop roll loaded with tender, buttery scallops mixed with imitation crab, layered over a bed of sushi rice, and topped with vibrant orange tobiko. It's slightly torched for that perfect caramelized finish, adding a subtle smokiness that enhances the richness of the seafood. It comes with a side of soy sauce and I always get the spicy mayo sauce to complete the experience. Fuji Grill itself is a no-frills spot--your typical quick-service sushi joint, usually staffed by a high schooler working the counter. But what matters is the food, and this roll delivers. Whether you dine in or order ahead, they serve it up fresh and fast. If you're anywhere near a Fuji Grill, do yourself a favor and order the baked scallops. Highly recommended!

Crunch Roll & Miso Soup
Lilia ..

I was feeling under the weather and the crunch roll and miso soup made me feel a little better. Comfort food is a must when trying not to catch a cold! My boyfriend picked this up for me and he said the service was quick. The ambiance was very quiet. He said there wasn't a long line.

Most of my positive rating goes towards the staff that was doing the best they could. If you are on a time crunch, make sure to ask how long the wait is. The staff gave me the impression we could be seated right away but I had to still wait over 20mins given other reservations ahead of us. Easily a one hour plus wait on a busy day as there isn't a ton of seating. Where I took off majority of my rating was the ratio of price to meat. After tip and tax, we neared the $100 range for 2 people, and this was without any additional sides. We had the prime ribeye, pork, and salmon, all at 5oz and roughly in the 10 slices range per plate. Comes with standard veggies and a few bites of udon/vermicelli. The quality was fine, but I just feel like I could get more at this price range at other places for just about the same quality range. Not to mention the experience itself is quite bland and standard, without much ambiance. I don't think I would personally be back.

Thick, chewy noodles, a clean, savory broth, and crispy shrimp tempura. It was my least favorite dish of the night, which says more about the competition than the udon itself. The hot spicy beef was excellent. Rich, tender beef swimming in a fiery, deeply flavorful broth. The heat was there, but so was everything else. You actually wanted to keep eating. The curry was the real surprise. I've had plenty of Japanese curry, but this had a different character. More depth, a richer flavor, and something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Whatever it was, I preferred it to the curry I'm used to. The California roll was fresh and satisfying, and the small chicken bowl came loaded with crispy, saucy chicken over rice. Five dishes, all good. Some better than others. That curry alone is worth returning for.

I also ordered their cheesy udon noodles, but after a couple bites I felt really sick and got a bad reaction to the food. They dumped an enormous handful of what looks like a Mexican blend type of cheese on top and flame torched the top by hand. The dish did not look like how it was displayed through their flyers. The food had a taste of butane which made me feel disgusted. I ended up getting really sick from this dish. I also noticed how the servers would skip on checking up on my partner and I to attend all the other guests but us? Overall a really bad experience here :/ I ended up paying the entire $20 for this bowl and extra for my other items and just quickly left.

I might be biased since this is my neighborhood Japanese restaurant, but this is one of my favorites. First, parking in this plaza is awful. But I understand the garage across the street is open for free, while the garage around the corner is paid but mostly empty. The restaurant is attractive and modern, with a lot of attention drawn to the big alcohol fridge in the back and the big open kitchen, which usually has a team slinging yakitori over a huge charcoal grill. The waiters/ waitresses are fast and pay close attention to you, with good senses of humor. I've tried about half the menu so far, with friends, with my husband, and alone, and everything is *delicious.* Standouts to me include grilled chicken skin, yuzu karaage, pork belly with plum, salmon skin roll, and if they have it that day, chicken oyster. But everything is good; all of the yakitori is all smoky, crispy, and delicious. I've actually been coming here for a few years, and I'm happy to see it as successful as it is nowadays. Looking forward to coming back very soon.

The deal did not include the shabu meats but we didn't mind since we had it as a palette cleanser with the broth and to fiber maxx with the veggies. Shoutout to our server for holding it down and waiting on all the tables herself and to the sushi chefs because all of the nigiri's had an amazing fish to rice ratio and the fish were all evenly cut. The pepper salmon nigiri, regular salmon nigiri, yellowtail on the yellowtail roll were all incredibly buttery and extremely fresh and soft. Garlic shrimp was also pleasantly great. I just wish they had spicy garlic edamame like XFish and I'd probably pass on the tuna next time to save space for the pepper salmon nigiri. But overall, one of my favorite spots now and I can't wait to go back.

Individual Japanese Hot Pots Each person gets their own hot pot with pre-portioned ingredients. You can choose between sukiyaki and miso broth, as well as beef or pork. The portions aren't huge, but the noodles have a great texture and don't get mushy easily. I also like the balance of meat and vegetables. It's so nice to enjoy something warm after eating sashimi! I had two pots all to myself. My favorite combination was spicy miso broth with beef. Great Appetizers The menu isn't overly extensive, but we tried quite a few appetizers, including baked mussels, shrimp tempura, fried squid, and grilled salmon collar. We liked these so much that we ordered them more than once! Rice-Free Rolls If you're a fan of fresh fish, don't miss their rice-free rolls! Without the rice, you get to enjoy even more of the fish. Each order comes with four pieces, making it easy to try different varieties without feeling too full. Fresh, High-Quality Sashimi The fish quality really stood out to me. You can tell from the sashimi that they take freshness seriously. Make sure to order it early, though, because each person is only allowed to order it once. AYCE That Feels Like a Regular Japanese Restaurant Even though this is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the menu is manageable rather than overwhelming. The dishes feel thoughtfully prepared, and the presentation and quality remind me more of ordering à la carte at a Japanese restaurant than eating at a typical AYCE spot. Pricing * $29.99 lunch, Monday-Friday before 4 PM * $39.99 dinner and weekends * Kids under 30 inches (76 cm) eat free I especially appreciate that weekday lunch is available until 4 PM, later than the usual 3 PM cutoff at many restaurants. Located in Orange, it's also a convenient drive from Santa Ana, Tustin, and Irvine. Overall, this is a great spot if you want fresh sashimi, delicious rice-free rolls, and your own Japanese hot pot all in one place. I'll definitely be back!

We love soba, so we were really excited to try this spot and ordered the Soba Sampler along with the Karaage. Unfortunately, the sampler was pretty hit or miss for us. Some of the soba was good, while other portions had a strange, almost soapy aftertaste that made them difficult to eat. The Karaage was where our experience really went downhill. When we cut into it, the chicken was very pink inside and had a soft, almost squishy texture. Both of us believed it was undercooked and weren't comfortable eating it. We brought it to the staff's attention and were initially told that it couldn't be taken back or replaced and that it was supposed to be that way. Regardless, neither of us felt comfortable continuing to eat it, so we set it aside untouched and asked for the bill. After bringing us the bill, the server seemed to notice that we hadn't eaten the Karaage, took the bill back, and returned with a new one that removed it from our total. I appreciated that he ultimately did that, but I still have mixed feelings about how the situation was handled leading up to it. The staff otherwise seemed nice, but between the inconsistent Soba Sampler and our experience with the Karaage, the meal unfortunately left us disappointed.

We arrived at the same time as another party of three, and there were only two of us. We placed our order, and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. Somehow, the party of three received their food, finished their meal, and got their check while we received absolutely nothing. How does that even happen? We were sitting right there, waiting, while an entire party that arrived at the same time as us was served and finished their meal. Not once did anyone seem to notice or address the fact that we were still waiting. I wasted gas driving here and valuable time expecting the same experience we've come to enjoy from one of our favorite restaurants. Instead, we got terrible service and a completely frustrating experience. Good ramen can only go so far when the service is this bad. Very disappointing, and definitely not what I expect from HiroNori.
