I haven't been to this place in quite a while. We purchased (to go) veggie burger, fries and a drink as well as the 1/3lb Burger and chili cheese fries which cost $50. There's is no way in anything that the burger that was supposed to be 1/3lb was 1/3lb. It was quite literally the same size as the veggie burger my girlfriend ordered which she said tasted like nutmeg or something?. I'm pretty sure the whopper I got at BK last week was bigger. I'm pretty sure I didn't get what I ordered. The lettuce, onion, tomato etc was all crammed in to a sandwich bag and was a complete mess for both burgers. I find it fun to go to the dessert area after my meal to pick out a cookie. This location had a sign which stated they were hiring. Because of this, I expected them to be short staffed. However, I was pleasantly surprised that they had many hands on deck! My party had our order shortly after getting settled in :) When I got up to throw my trash, a busser was quick to take my plate and tell me they'd take care of it! Ok I was expecting to be blown away but it was just mid and a little disappointing. Start with the toppings. I figured the larger burger would have more toppings than the smaller burger but they both barely had any chile and avocado. Two very thin slices of bacon as well. The bun was fresh and it was much larger than the 1lb burger. The burger itself was really lacking in flavor. It was very filling and it's a pretty good sized hamburger (1lb). But it was pretty bland. The chile was ok and had some flavor but it didn't have any heat at all. Maybe if they would put more than a spoonful on a huge burger I would have a different opinion on that. The potato wedges are good but they're pretty stingy with them too. Service was ok, basically just take your order, ask for a tip and then call your name. All in all for $42+tip, I think I know why it had been a long time since I've been there. Should you try it? This place has to absolutely be one of my most favorite burger places to go to! First off, the burger is amazing! Meats ranging from regular beef to buffalo (and the occasional special meat like ostrich) always gives a new type of flavor to explore. I personally love the buffalo burger. On top of that, you can get toppings such as bacon, cheese, fried egg, guacamole, onion rings, and so much more just for $2. My burger has always been juicy every single time I've eaten here. It's been years since I had Fuddruckers and recall THOROUGHLY enjoying a FR burger and fries. The food is as I remembered it, so this review is not about FR food. This is about customer service. I arrived a bit before noon, the sign on the door said it opened at 11. I walked in and there was no one behind the register. As I slowly made my way to the counter I noticed a number of people putting orders together in the kitchen (easily 4, maybe 5). You could tell they were busy with orders and I didn't make an attempt to bother them. I waited way longer than I should have - I noticed at least 5 minutes go by. No one even acknowledged that they saw me, even avoided eye contact when I looked at the kitchen folks hard at work. Finally, a staffer walked in the front door. They walked by me (without looking at me) and were gone long enough to drop the bag they were carrying in the back and came to the registered. When at the registered, I did get a "I need to sign in" before they looked up and asked to take my order. I understood completely and wanted to let her get credit for her arrival at her station. I waited way too long before even being acknowledged. We all understand you are busy, the very least you can do is nod at the client and say "we'll be with you in a moment". I would have walked out, but the first stop I made was to a place that was closed because of short staffing and I was under a time constraint to get back with food. read more

My boyfriend and I left this location about 8 minutes ago. I do not recommend anyone to come here at any cost. Long story short - we had a hair in our food and the management did nothing about it, despite my talking to three employees. We were really excited to eat at this location, as we've been doing a cross country road trip for the last 5 days and neither of us has had Fuddruckers in years. We were very hungry and excited to eat here. We ordered a chicken tender combo and large hangover burger. Our food took a while to arrive, despite it being pretty empty when we placed our order, but we did not mind it much. Fast forward to our food arriving. It looked tasty and smelled good, so we started taking a few bites. I glanced at my boyfriend's burger and I saw a think black thin line on his melted cheese - basically, something out of the ordinary. I asked him "What's that?" He took a closer look, picked it out with his hand, and it was a piece of hair. We had JUST received our food, so it did not come from either of us. I immediately talked to an employee at one of their counters (a non-cash register counter), this employee told me to talk to one of the food preparers at the kitchen counter. I talked to a man at the kitchen counter and he told me to speak to ANOTHER person, this time at the cash register. When I finally spoke to the cash-register employee, whom I believe was the manager, he said, "Let me see the burger." He followed me to our table, took the burger, took a look at the receipt, and walked away. No communication at all as to what he was doing. Was he bringing out a new burger? Was he giving us a refund? We didn't know. We never found out, either. After waiting at our table for 10 minutes, we saw that third employee back at the cash register taking new orders, a dinner rush had come in and we had no interest to wait in line. We'd lost our appetite. I left the rest of my meal untouched. As we were walking out, we passed the register. The same third employee made eye contact with me and then resumed taking the next customer's order, so I doubt he planned to come back to our table at all. Now we're angry and at the same level of hunger before we sat down. I'm eating a Chicken flavored Cup Noodles while I'm writing this. At least I know there's no hair here. Save your appetite. Place is good for dinner but needs to be cleaned constantly. When I arrived several tables were waiting to be cleaned and wiped. Burgers are delicious and onion rings are amazing!! I really enjoyed it. Me being a New Mexico native I ordered the Chili Cheese Fries and it wasn't chili hot. They used hormel chili sauce when I was hoping for some green chili. You can choose which type of buns you'd like but because I arrived in the late evening they only had regular buns left. I suggest eating your fries with the cheese sauce, it's delicious! I love it! However, be aware that on Isotopes and Lobo game days this is a popular place to pre-game so go early if you have plans and be ready to be patient! The staff at this location is fantastic! They are great with special orders and keep everything clean. They also have a party room. It is super convenient to the airport too for when you fly home and are hungry right off the plane! It's hard to find a good burger that offers a gf bun. Had gone to fuddruckers years ago, and the gf bun was ok, but was dry and fell apart. I was pleasantly surprised that their new bun was soft, moist, and didn't fall apart. The meat itself was cooked perfect. My only request would be that the fries be fried in their own oil so that I could eat them too without the cross contamination fear. read more

Haven't seen a Fuddruckers since I was 8 years old! Nostalgia hit me as I walked into the establishment on a Wednesday evening. Marty and I both got a cheese burger. He got a 1/2 lb and I opted for a 1/3lb with a wedge fries. 2 cups for water. This meal cost us 21 bucks. (standard) The staff was friendly and efficient. We got our orders within 10 minutes. The condiment bar was impressive. It was neat and looked well maintained not to mention appetizing. Sauces were also neat (this is rare) If you haven't been here before, all the condiments are self served. (lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, peppers, sauces.) Visit on 1/27/17: Came here for a private event. Ordered a 1/2 pound medium well burger with sweet potato fries and the chicken/apple/bleu cheese salad. My burger was fairly pink: a lot less done than I like. Oh well, I had no reason to send it back since I take bites off my boyfriend's rare burgers frequently. They got the sweet potato fries order correct too, which was nice since I originally ordered regular fries and changed my mind halfway through the making of the burger. In other words, the service was both competent and friendly, and they personally delivered the food to several people in my party rather than paging us. I liked the consistency of the fries too: no added salt, but that'll be a disappointment to those of you who like a little fry with your salt. I couldn't finish them and gave the rest to one of my dining partners who had his own side of sweet potato fries. The salad is huge: it's a meal all by itself. Although the greens consist of little more than lettuce, I appreciate that they did not skimp on the protein. I had so much that I was able to take some of it home and put my own greens in. Bottom line: I'm not usually a big fan of chains, but I do like Fudds and come here from time to time in both of my homes (ABQ and San Francisco Bay Area). I appreciate that they have a diverse menu not just with turkey and vegetarian patties, but also ostrich and buffalo. That said, I'll never be brave enough to try those more exotic selections. NB: When I say it's a lot, please keep in mind that I'm a 34-year-old woman on the smaller side of average. If I have a craving for a burger, this is where I'll go. They have buffalo burgers, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, chicken...a lot of choices. A couple of the best things for me is the atmosphere. Very retro. Motorcycles hanging from the ceiling, an old timey coke machine, and several other antiques that make this restaurant unique. They make your burgers to order. My son said, "Isn't this fast food?", because he knows that I am not a fan of fast food and of course my answer was no. They ask you how you'd like it cooked and it's very fresh. The fries, onion rings, or whatever other side you order are decent but I've had the same quality elsewhere. The draw here is the burgers for sure. Another fact that makes me love this place is that they make their own buns. They have a bakery in the restaurant. I love that! Along with that, they make wonderful shakes, cookies, brownies, etc. I believe it's all from scratch but I can't guarantee it. They are good regardless. The service is great. If the line is too long, they will go through the line and ask what they can get started on the grill for you. It makes the wait a little less. Overall, the wait isn't ever that long. My kids love looking at all of the decor and they love the soda machine where you can get several different kinds of sodas and add several different flavors. I have to say I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to chain restaurants so I was reluctant to go. But, as I walked in a sticker on the door assured me this place was locally owned and operated. I'll take what I can get. Still not convinced. The lady at the ordering station was awesome! Great customer service and an even better sense of humor. I had placed a phone order and when I went in to pick up my order I patiently waited for assistance so I can add one more item to my order. I was ignored for several minutes then the Manager, Lee, rudely asked what I needed without making any eye contact with me. I asked if he was speaking to myself or to the other worker he was looking at. He then got upset and said I don't have time for this! He started to make a scene telling me I needed to leave when I was waiting for my already paid for order. I simply wanted a small shake for my child. so I left without the shake for my child while this "manager" kept waving his name tag in the air telling me I needed to leave. I really don't have a good excuse for eating here. Eaten here twice and on my first visit, I originally came here for their Exotics, specifically their Ostrich Burger. I was immediately disappointed when I found out that this Fuddruckers no longer carried a handful of their exotics, with ostrich being one of them. So, I opted for their Turkey Burger. Higher protein, lower calories, and lower fat is my reason for choosing this. I got mine super plain. When I say plain, I mean boring, no sauces, and no cheese. I did get sweet potato fries and ate exactly 3. The sweet potato fries were pretty good. The Turkey Burger was outstanding. Usually a turkey burger is dry and tasteless, especially when you have it with nothing. I don't know how Fuddruckers does it, but theirs is tender, full of flavor, and almost taste like beef. 4 Stars on Visit #1. I really wanted a turkey burger on my second visit here, but needed more protein. And besides, I got the green light to eat red meat. I chose their Buffalo Burger. Again, I got this as plain as can be and this time with no sweet potato fries. My buffalo burger was cooked medium-well and served quick. Well, it should since I was the only customer in this joint. Overall, I got a surprisingly tasty buffalo burger. Based on my pictures, my burger looks dry and it was. And it looked tasteless and it wasn't. 3 Stars on Visit #2. Overall, I may not be a fan of Fuddruckers in general, but I am a fan of their exotics. The wife and I landed in Albuquerque recently - mid-afternoon and STARVING. I pulled out the phone, called up Yelp, and found an old friend...I haven't been in a Fuddruckers in 10 years, and definitely had good memories. So I plugged in the address in to the gps, and off we went! We arrived and checked out the menu - which was pretty much exactly like I remember it. I ordered a swiss bacon burger, while the wife had a more traditional cheeseburger. We also split some fries. We got our drinks (they have one of those stupid 100000 Coke variants machines...what a complete waste of money!), and found a table. Our order was called, so we picked up and went to the condiments bar and loaded up. Here's where the experience was NOT as I remember it. Rather than the uber-fresh burger patty that was in my memory, this really tasted like a costco frozen patty. DEFINITELY not what I remember. Very bland. The fries were ok, at least. The place is also run down. It was kinda cool to see an '82 Honda CX-500 hanging on the wall (I had one long ago), but that doesn't really cover the fact that the place just looks faded. There was a condiment bar with tomatoes, lettuce, some other stuff I wasn't paying attention to and big dispensers of ranch dressing, ketchup, mustard and little tapatio bottles and a bunch of other toppings I was oblivious to--the point is, there's lots of stuff to dress up your burgers and sandwiches, I just didn't list them all here. He got in at roughly 7 p.m. and was greeted very rudely by some guy who asked for our order. He started to give our order and was very abruptly told that he only meant the meat. About 20 minutes into his wait, a large group of people showed up. My husband is just getting out. He's beyond flustered and we're both exhausted and hungry at this point. He left Los Alamos at 5 p.m. If he had gotten out at 6 p.m., he would be just getting home. This is going to be the last time that we go to this location. Bearing in mind that the last time we'd gone to this location, we told them about my husband's allergies. They acknowledged his allergies and then cooked our fries. Turns out that, even though they acknowledged his allergies, they cooked the fries in an oil he's allergic to. The person picking our food up was blown away that they had cooked the fries anyways. They don't pay attention to customers. The wait time is ridiculous. There is also obvious tension in the air and the employees seem to have no problem bickering amongst one another. The manager is the only one who seems to have their stuff together.
