Won Ton soup. No shrimp in the won ton. Very good

Very small place. Clean! Owners were very friendly. Spoke broken English. The kitchen sounded like they have the right equipment with hi pressure flame for Wok. Service was fast, food was hot, food was delicious ! A little different from the norm as tibia North Eastern cuisine. Nice change !

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Ville Saint-laurent. The food is pretty good but still has room for improvements. I would recommend this place. The service is good, quantity is alright, 1 main dish/person. Good place to go if you don't want to go downtown.

Solid restaurant specializing in Northeastern Chinese dishes. I really enjoyed these dishes and I think they are authentic.

    Spicy clams-so good!

Had hot and sour soup as well as General Tao chicken platter with rice. All well presented and reasonably priced. Service was very good!

Maybe it was the fact that the place was nearly empty during lunch hour but something bothered me after I sat down. After eating here, I only wished that we kept on walking. The esthetics of the place looks nice enough initially, suitably themed for the type of cuisine they offer. Their lunch menu is quite simple, ranging from a few types of "Asian" cuisines as well as being very cheap. $8 for a lunch menu consisting of soup and a main plate? That's a good deal... maybe too much so! We were offered warm tea and were promptly served. I went with the no thrills General Tao, not wishing to be too adventurous and my friend went with their Chicken Stir Fry. The tea was very good and we chatted while we waited for the food to come. In less than 10 minutes our food was served and honestly it didn't look very good looking right at it and after my first bite of my General Tao, I quickly came to regret my decision. Whether it was ordering this easy simple dish or the fact I walked into this resto, I don't know. The General Tao tasted like rubber and left a lot to be desired. It seems to me everyone seems to make their General Tao sauce completely different from one another these days and the sauce had the weird molasses consistency that "felt off". It felt flat, sticky and with little taste. The rice ball was decent enough and the roll which was the best part of the dish was actually quite tasty with their sweet sauce. My friend's meal came to him almost like a super spicy soup goop, which completely impressed him on how clearly bad it was. He left more than half of his meal in the plate. When it comes down to it, Phenix D'Or is more like Phenix Aluminum. Instead of the prestigious metal such as gold, you get a very mediocre experience like a common metal like Aluminum. When it comes down to it, the overall experience just needs to be better. We deserve better.

They said delay was due to traffic on the Cote de Liesse, but we can see from our office(all of Cote de Liesse) and there was no traffic . We then received 2 phone calls from the driver because he was lost in the building, even though the Suite # was provided 4 times on the telephone. When our order arrived, the boxes were completely crushed and the bottom of the bag had approximately an inch of sauce / soup in it (we have photos) The delivery driver was unhelpful and extremely rude. We made 2 more phone calls asking that our credit card have the charges reversed due to the delay and the condition of the food. The person on the phone stated they would reverse the charges only if we returned the food. We happily handed the food back to the driver and ordered from somewhere else - it arrived in 20 minutes. Phoenix D'Or needs to address this and compensate by reversing the charges, it is not only unhygienic, but the worst customer service possible.

What a pleasant surprise this was! I was coming to buy Girl Scout Cookies as they were being sold…read morethere yesterday (Friday) and I am a sucker for Girl Scouts as my nana spoiled me growing up and bought me boxes of Thin Mints whenever Girl Scout Cookie Season came around. Luckily, i was able to snag the last box of Thin Mints and a box of Trefoils, so I am not complaining. Since I was already at the location, I thought why not try the restaurant. I did not know what to expect and honestly I did not factor in that it was a buffet. Coming from Miami originally (though currently living in Saint Albans), I was lucky (no pun intended ^_^) to have had some really great buffets to experience in Miami, FL (ie. Kyojin in South Miami, Canton in Coral Gables, POC in Coral Gables) but I was craving Chinese food as I had not had any in so long. Lucky Buffet did not disappoint. They had sit down dining service as well as to go service. I am not sure if they deliver. If they did that would be amazing! But it was pretty busy which is always a good sign for a restaurant because it means they are doing good business and there is a demand for it. I ended up eating with my eyes and then my stomach because i filled 2 to go containers with a variety/assortment of foods like General Tso's chicken (my favorite), chicken & broccoli, crunchy and flavorful snap peas, crispy wonton noodles, very breaded/fluffy battered chicken tenders, and some vegetable fried rice that i doused in the General Tsao's sauce). I also got some of these Buttered scalloped potatoes which O-M-G were so darn good. They also had sliced onion mixed into the batch and no complaints there. It came out to a total of $38. There was a sign that said it was like $7.95 for pound of food and I figured I would splurge since I am not sure when I would be back there. I walk everywhere and in the cold, frigid temps, it's a bit cumbersome (and dangerous) to walk with food like that over icy sidewalks and slushy-muddy snow. I can't speak to what dining in would be like, but it seemed pretty decent. There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out which is always good to see. I also liked how they had fortune cookies sitting on display in the middle of the place for guests to take. I took about six lol I can't resist a good old fashioned fortune cookie:) If I ever happen to be walking by again, I would consider it again, but it is a lot of food. So you have to go on an empty stomach and also try not to over indulge or else you will have tummy issues. Chinese food is notorious for having MSG, but I am not sure if they use that there. I will say that they had a pretty decent dessert bar and ice cream selection. The people of Saint Albans are "lucky" to have this restaurant in their midsts. Also parking is pretty ample for those that have vehicles and the restaurant itself seemed pretty clean and well organized. If buffet items got low, they immediately would replenish them. The food was hot and ready to go. A plus was the little keychains being sold at the front at the counter. I had to get a Stitch one because I love the Stitch character. He's so cute ^_^ They also had a Spiderman one and Hello Kitty one so any fans of those characters would be pleasantly surprises and amused to see them being sold there once you check out and pay. Highly recommend this place.
