This is my go to Fry's location. I actually drive past two other locations to shop here because it has a larger selection. It's not fancy or newly remodeled by any means and the staff usually is subpar but they seem to be better stocked than the other locations near me. Why is this entrance so cluttered and messy with snacks? Sheesh!!! As soon as, you walk in, it's giving claustrophobic vibes from the start!!! Anyway, this location is perfect and always has been, as this is a busy section but has fast service. The employees are always nice and catering. They have all of their shelves fully stocked. I come here almost weekly for my groceries but my experience last night with Charles makes me want to shop elsewhere. He was cussing up a storm about his job and coworkers, he was extremely hostile and was constantly mocking the person on the register next to him. Then, he mocked me. Twice. My partner was bagging our groceries because there wasn't a bagger, and I said "you're good at this" to my partner. Charles responded in a mocking manner "meh meh meh meh" like a child. I have used this location in past and can say the lanes are very cluttered & for some reason they typically are stocking during times that people shop . All that can be tolerated and is no big issue but what isn't okay is their customer service desk . I made a mistake when checking out & accidentally used the wrong card , instead of holding g everyone behind me up I decided to go back to customer services for help. I come here and shop all the time and my whole family for about 4 years , I went through self checkout and needed the self checkout lady (Amanda) to scan her card. While Amanda was "gossiping" with another employee or supervisor to be correct , I had to politely say excuse me about 4 times and the 5th time I had to get louder , Amanda was standing right next to me ... Amanda walked over scanned her card and proceeded to say " I wasn't gossiping I was actually working" . I didn't say one thing about gossiping I just needed help , which is her job. I went to this location three weeks ago on a Sunday night and I hadn't been shopping in ages because I just had ankle replacement surgery complete ankle replacement! First they had no handicap scooters to ride they were all dead! I shop here all the time. Today I decided to do clicklist order. Well on my way there someone called me telling they are very short staff and unfortunately my order wasnt going to be ready on time. If I can come two hours later. I said, sure. When I get to the line, I waited 30mins to get into a parking spot, and 20mins to get my order. Not much to jump and down about at Fry's grocery stores in general. First, why do they on many occasions force you to buy 4 or more of some low quality product like soda pop to get a decent price? Why don't you offer similar promotions in the produce department? The answer may be Fry's is more concerned about profits than the health of their customers. Other than occasional cheese sales and chicken deals I don't see much value in the products at Fry's in comparison to Walmart and other stores. Promoting the daily garbage products like potato chips, soda pop and other processed foods is not doing the populations health meter much good especially when you require bulk purchases of these types of products. Seriously, part of the problem. The produce department has a value here and there while overall prices are very high comparatively speaking. Last time I checked Fry's does not post their return policy. Why not? I asked management about this and offered me no answer. All reputable stores post their return policies. Fry's unless they changed their policy does not. Conclusion, I will stick to Walmart, Sprouts, Food City and even Costco for better values and recommend others do the same. read more

My kudos to the pharmacy dept.! Especially Michael, the pharmacist, (who reminds me of Doogie Howser, M.D.) was friendly and tremendously helpful. I was deciding on some over the counter medicines and confused as which one I needed, and he "patient"-ly educated me on each medicine's active ingredients and what its used for. With an informed decision and purchasing their brand, (same active ingredients) I came out with at least a 40% savings. And I like their auto-text when prescription is ready. My fiancé had gone grocery shopping yesterday. As he was leaving the parking lot he seen the cashier guy running outside but didn't think anything of it. Beware not handicapped accessible!! I have a nerve disorder (Arachnoiditis if interested )and they had no scooters at front of store. I asked the girl standing just inside if there were any while holding on to my walker she shrugged and walked off with out a word. I had to go back to car to get can as lifting a walker to go in a cart is laughable. I found one lady riding one in store and when I left one out in the heat to hot to touch. I read further down in another review the same issue. If you have mobility issues do not go to this store. Their Customer service is also extremely bad as at check out with my back screaming I could not lift my sodas or water to belt cashier asked bagger to scan them and she tried but did not move them to get bar code and hand back the scanner and he again asked her and she just scanned at nothing I had to in pain lift and turn everything as he snatched the scanner from her. I love this store...the pharmacy not so much. I know things are still hectic but the customer service aspect of their job has gotten lost in the shuffle. Everyone that answers the phone has a horrible attitude and are extremely short with you. People need their meds, some sooner than others. If you call to check status and are in pain the last thing you need is an attitude from the person on the other end. Everyone in my household is transferring to CVS. Love this Fry's. It's close to work so I tend to stop by after to pick up groceries. It's usually pretty busy so sometimes I'll have to park a little ways away, but it's not a major complaint. I love that there's a sushi bar here and the chef who offers samples has become a good friend. One time he saw me a few aisles down and called me over to get a sample. I made my rounds, returned, and found that he had the last two sushi pieces waiting for me. Oh and on Wednesdays they have $5 sushi deals. Otherwise, prices are great and I usually stock up on things like snacks and bananas. Checking out is easy with the self-check machines and I love getting free/discounted items using the Fry's coupon app. read more

This is an amazing Fry's now that renovations are complete. Although I live closer to the other Tempe location on Mill, I always go out of my way to visit this one for any grocery list, long or short. Their selection in just about every category is amazing. Produce is quite varied and always fresh. The frozen aisles are huge! They have an in-house sushi chef who crafts it fresh daily. I'm especially a fan of the organic/"healthy" options they sell- so many things from which for me to pick (can't even begin to list what all I like). There's a nice Starbucks kiosk inside as well for those who need a caffeine pick me up. Just like the Fry's employees, those employees are awfully kind! Between the road ragey drivers that have almost hit my car in the parking lot, and the weird people going up to me when I'm filling up my car's gas tank trying to sell me random stuff like self-published CDs or attempting to get me to sign a petition with only a modicum of information on what it's about, this would be enough of a deterrent for me to not go here for gas or groceries. But please be very wary when shopping here in general. My mother was robbed at this location. She was tough and fought off the thief as much as she could but he ran off with her belongings and pushed her to the ground. She is recovering from a car accident too so this is the last thing she needs especially in the troubled times we live in. Luckily she wasn't seriously hurt but if you have any loved ones that shop here I would suggest they keep some pepper spray on them and shop with extreme caution. read more

Purchased tomato bisque soup on 01/09/23 in the deli. on 01/13/23 I went back to return it due to some foreign objects in the soup. I got in line at the CS desk at the front of the store. There were 4 people ahead of me. Normal- I waited, but soon realized the one CS person was playing around quite a bit. Once it was my turn, I said I had a return of this soup due to these foreign objects in the soup (I had these in a small container) and I would like a ..... and at that point I realized that she was no longer even looking at me, she was looking over my shoulder and chatting with apparently a co-worker several feet away about what they had done on their break! huh? Finally, she places her elbow on the counter in front of me and says "I'm baaaack...!" I just kind of continued to ask for a refund of the soup. After that was processed, I handed her a $20 bill and asked for $20 in Mega Millions tickets. She said "20 tickets?" I said "10 draws, they are $2 apiece" She handed me my lottery ticket, NO CHANGE, and I left, pretty tired of this attempt to return some soup. Her name is ASHLEY. I did some shopping and left the store. I had to go out of town the next morning, On 01/14/2023, I called the store to report that I had been given a lottery ticket for $10 (5plays) and talk to a manager about Ashley's unprofessional behavior. I went through the phone tree and was to be directed to a manager. It was answered with "Hello, Fry's" I asked who I was speaking to. The female said "Ashely" I said that I was calling to speak to a manager. She replied "I am one" Awkward! I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to, she said "ok, hold on" I was on hold just less than 5 minutes and the phone call dropped. Who has time for this? Not me. On 01/ 19, I called the corporate number of 1-800 Krogers. I got a girl named Kelsey. I kept is short, just wanting to reach out to management regarding my experience. 2 minutes into the call- it was ..'dropped'. hmmm. I called back to the Fry's store after that, went through the phone tree, and got a nice girl named Veronica. She transferred me to a manager named Angela, who more or less listened, and did say Ashley (the beginning of the whole issue) was a front end manager) but she would have a meeting with her and other management, arrange for my $10 reimbursement (which is not even most important to me) and return my call within the next 24 to 48 hours. It has been 12 days since that conversation and I do not expect a call. I have lived in Tempe since 1983, but I simply will not shop at Fry's again. If management cannot follow through- where else are they dropping the ball? And Ashley, I will come through your CS line with a hidden camera and get your stunts on video. read more

Employees are risking their lives to be at work during the pandemic and Fry's is repaying them by understaffing and overworking. Employees are working 12+ hours with no breaks (illegal) and no water (in 110* heat). Because they're understaffed and allowing too many pickup orders per time slot, there are lines of cars 30 deep, and people are waiting 2 hours for their scheduled pick-up time. This is not unique to this store. This is all Fry's locations in the valley. With the pandemic, grocery store revenue is soaring and this is how they choose to treat their essential workers? Do yourself a favor and choose a different grocery chain. read more

Just a heads up if you plan on bringing your sleeping baby in their stroller with their diaper bagpack. The Fry's employees will hunt you down and follow you everywhere and watch you like a hawk creating a hostile and uncomfortable experience.
