Haddock and chips $13 with mushy peas $extra
    Stephen P.

This is an old school fish place. It still has a bunch of 60s fixtures in here. And if it was in L.A. it would have a "Film location available" sign placed somewhere. It's really kitsch or whatever that would be in England. The owner's are the third pair of hands to run this place. I do wonder does it take three blokes to run this small shop? We ordered fish and chips of course. We skipped on the bread and butter which is very old school side dish...look how it's served. So cool! As other reviewers pointed out: this is traditional fish & try shop, they are good at what they are doing. This is first time I tried English style fish & fry, they taste bland, even with ketchup, salt & pepper. Anyway, Fish was fresh, fry was crispy.

Holy. Freaking. COW. THIS IS WHAT FISH IS SUPPOSED TO TASTE LIKE, Y'ALL!! You know how New York City has that trans fat ban? Well...I never thought much of it and happily chowed down on my A Salt & Battery fish and chips like a happy little camper. Then I came to The Fryer's Delight, and mine eyes doth opened.* Ignorance, dear friends, is not bliss. On my search for fish and chips, I was walking through Hyde Park and decided to whip out the trusty ol' Blackberry. Time Out London delivered and recommended The Fryer's Delight as a "Cabbies' Favourite." Right there, you already know (1) it can't be THAT expensive if cabbies are regulars and (2) it must be pretty "authentic" because we all know how notoriously curmudgeony and London-local London cabbies are known to be. An unpretentious storefront and English accents abound -- I have a good feeling about this place. And Time Out London does not steer me wrong. Flavor explosions of fresh, crisply fried, succulently meaty fish. Good gawd. I died and went to fishy heaven. "She sleeps with the fishes" has taken on a whole new, fabulously wonderful meaning. Trans fat, I now recognize you for who you are, and I have never been happier to make such an acquaintance!* Sure, you can go to Bibendum for a damn good serving of fish and chips, but seriously...why not save your squids and come make friends with trans fat and its cousin cholesterol at The Fryer's Delight instead?* Trust me....you and your taste buds will leave here delighted. ****************** * Please note that recent communications have indicated that the fried goodness emerging from this institution is not trans fat-inclusive, but rather derived from beef drippings, which may contain trace amounts of naturally occurring trans fat, but which is not the artificially-created type that is banned in NYC (as far as I'm aware). Regardless...beef drippings??? I hate to say it, but...that sounds even BETTER. Nom nom nommmmmm!

Pretty good. Looks like everything is made fresh. Been meaning to get fish and chips in London and i wasn't disappointed. I'd come again if i wasn't leaving in the morning.

    Fish, chips, and mushy peas!

Best fish and chips in London. Huge portions and delicious mushy peas make this a perfect dinner or post-drink indulgence. Plus, there's a good chance you'll have to share your booth with a stranger, making it even more of an adventure!

(I heard the non GF version was also excellent.) Platter came with flavorful mushy peas, tartar sauce, and a spicy mayo (or currry for the non GF platter). Chips were large and delicious. Portion was huge, and easily shareable. Delicious!! Service: It was ok. We waited in line for a really long time (more than an hour) but we were checked on from time to time. Once we were seated and ordered, no one really checked in, but we asked if we needed something. Ambiance: Cute outdoor seating. In door seating was okay. Reservations get to go into a back room which seemed nicer. Lovely side street in a crazy busy popular area. It's a solid 4.5 stars for what it is because the food was so good. I'd return. Tip: Make a reservation a couple of weeks in advance, or be prepared to wait...a long time...Or, skip the line to order takeaway and go enjoy your food!

Open and airy, it's a throwback to Old World architecture with a vintage Athletic Club vibe. In fact, it's considered to be a "Grade I" listed building, joining the ranks of other historically significant places in London, including Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge. In fact, it felt like T.S. Eliot, Agatha Christie, or Virginia Woolf might've passed through here to take in a pint themselves or be inspired by the trains below for their next plot line. Since I was craving Fish & Chips with malted vinegar and creamy tartar sauce the moment I booked my trip to London, this was a clear choice on their menu. Disappoint, it did not! (Though it was one of my fears considering it's located at a highly touristic point at King's Cross Station.) In fact, the fish was fresh and flakey, while the chips were perfectly cut and well-seasoned. There was even a side of minty peas next to my fresh-cut lemon wedges that made me smile. I paired it with a cold pint of a local draught Cider that was also quite refreshing on this balmy, summer day. Equally as impressive, my meal was ready almost as quick as the whip of my wand and the snap of my fingers. Granted, it was 3pm in the afternoon and the crowds were light at that time. But still. The locomotive speed on my order was noted and very much appreciated. To top it off, the friendly staff helped me navigate through my whims and indecision with their selection of pints and cocktails (and even the city to find my next stop). So the next time I'm passing through here, I'll be sure to make this a stop along my journey. Cheers to The Parcel Yard for a job well done from start to finish!

We were craving for fish and chips which is a staple or must have when in London. Each main fish course comes with unlimited chips or baked potatoes and we opted for the chips. We had the following: - cod fillet - haddock fillet - soup of the day which was the tomato bisque - prawn tempura - calamari - coke zero - regular coke It's strange how the regular coke cost £1 more than the coke zero. For a group of 4, we planned to have the North Seafood platter which comprises of cod and Haddock bites, Calamari, Prawns, Sardines, Scampi, Salt and Pepper Squid for £44.00 but our server insisted that it's only good for 2 people. That serving really was big but as per the lady server it's only good for 2 so we ended up getting individual plates. We also overheard the same lady server insisted on what the other table should order stating that serving is too small for that other table. In fairness, food was really good. We just didn't like the fact that the server was insisting what we should and should not order.
