The flavors are simple so it's a must to eat with tartar sauce or vinegar. The batter was thin and fish flaky but a little greasy. Overall 3.5 rating.

Excellent fish and chips. Must get the curry on the side for the chips. I will go back again and have been telling friends: Go!

Best Fish & Chips in London. Delicious, fast, with service and hospitality that feel very high-end. They source their fish fresh every morning from Billingsgate Market and hand-cut the chips on site. Fun fact: no one really knows who "Ben" is - it adds to the charm of the place!

The fish smelled very bad (and I don't mean the average fish smell). The peas were taken into the very dirty back, microwaved, and left on the counter to dry out for 20 minutes. Oh and worst of all got food poisoning from the rancid food!

Very good fish and chips for the price. There is another famous place up the road but it is 2x as much. Service was good. Ambiance in the outside was good as well(just beware people sometimes smoke) Fish was crispy and moist, chips(fries) were crispy, but like much of the English food add extra salt and vinegar.

So I happened to stumble upon this place right when it was opening up. (Meaning: I tried two other fish and chips place that were miraculously closed and hurriedly Yelped a new location) Inside is small but well painted! The server could not be more kind as I ordered cod with chips and it was a delight to hear everything freshly fried on premise. The cod itself had an exceptionally crisp batter. Almost crisp/chip like. The fries also had a delicate crunch as well with a soft interior that I personally love. I will admit, I do wish the entire entree had more salt to it. But there's a bevy of classic condiments to your side if you do need altering. Overall, would recommend for some cozy vibes and cod!

Great 'chippy' spot that's close to a number of theaters if you need to grab a quick and tasty bite before a show. Food: Cod and chips! Cod was fresh with a crisp and light batter, served with a generous portion of chips. Tartar sauce was in a squeeze bottle on the table, along with mayo, ketchup and vinegar. Service: Efficient and friendly. Cost: ~£20 for the fish and chips and a drink. Space: Cosy. I sat in the smaller eat-in space as you enter, but there seemed to be more space downstairs. Takes cards and cash.

    Fish and chips, counter, ambience

Family of fish and chips connoisseurs and Ben's did not disappoint. It's a small but great spot! You can watch them make the fresh fish and chips fresh right at the counter. The service is great and though the restaurant is about half the size of most, it is BIG in every other way. Our new top spot for fish and chips.

(I heard the non GF version was also excellent.) Platter came with flavorful mushy peas, tartar sauce, and a spicy mayo (or currry for the non GF platter). Chips were large and delicious. Portion was huge, and easily shareable. Delicious!! Service: It was ok. We waited in line for a really long time (more than an hour) but we were checked on from time to time. Once we were seated and ordered, no one really checked in, but we asked if we needed something. Ambiance: Cute outdoor seating. In door seating was okay. Reservations get to go into a back room which seemed nicer. Lovely side street in a crazy busy popular area. It's a solid 4.5 stars for what it is because the food was so good. I'd return. Tip: Make a reservation a couple of weeks in advance, or be prepared to wait...a long time...Or, skip the line to order takeaway and go enjoy your food!

Open and airy, it's a throwback to Old World architecture with a vintage Athletic Club vibe. In fact, it's considered to be a "Grade I" listed building, joining the ranks of other historically significant places in London, including Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge. In fact, it felt like T.S. Eliot, Agatha Christie, or Virginia Woolf might've passed through here to take in a pint themselves or be inspired by the trains below for their next plot line. Since I was craving Fish & Chips with malted vinegar and creamy tartar sauce the moment I booked my trip to London, this was a clear choice on their menu. Disappoint, it did not! (Though it was one of my fears considering it's located at a highly touristic point at King's Cross Station.) In fact, the fish was fresh and flakey, while the chips were perfectly cut and well-seasoned. There was even a side of minty peas next to my fresh-cut lemon wedges that made me smile. I paired it with a cold pint of a local draught Cider that was also quite refreshing on this balmy, summer day. Equally as impressive, my meal was ready almost as quick as the whip of my wand and the snap of my fingers. Granted, it was 3pm in the afternoon and the crowds were light at that time. But still. The locomotive speed on my order was noted and very much appreciated. To top it off, the friendly staff helped me navigate through my whims and indecision with their selection of pints and cocktails (and even the city to find my next stop). So the next time I'm passing through here, I'll be sure to make this a stop along my journey. Cheers to The Parcel Yard for a job well done from start to finish!

We were craving for fish and chips which is a staple or must have when in London. Each main fish course comes with unlimited chips or baked potatoes and we opted for the chips. We had the following: - cod fillet - haddock fillet - soup of the day which was the tomato bisque - prawn tempura - calamari - coke zero - regular coke It's strange how the regular coke cost £1 more than the coke zero. For a group of 4, we planned to have the North Seafood platter which comprises of cod and Haddock bites, Calamari, Prawns, Sardines, Scampi, Salt and Pepper Squid for £44.00 but our server insisted that it's only good for 2 people. That serving really was big but as per the lady server it's only good for 2 so we ended up getting individual plates. We also overheard the same lady server insisted on what the other table should order stating that serving is too small for that other table. In fairness, food was really good. We just didn't like the fact that the server was insisting what we should and should not order.

I didn't have to look at the menu at the counter - I simply said "fish and chips" please. I took a seat outside and waited for my delectables to arrive. The time seemed like plank/burpee minutes, but in reality the food came out relatively quick. When I took my first bite / it was mission accomplished. Each bite was all I wanted and more. The fish and chips were fabulous - I ended up unable to finish due to the size of the meal. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and sitting outside was somewhat relaxing.
