They came in with a quote less than others we received, and brought the project in on time and within budget. Dan Frumenti was often there to supervise. After the deck was completed and we made a final payment, issues have arisen that they refuse to respond to. Definitely would not recommend based on no follow-up. Finally, Armand, the father came to the rescue after receiving a certified demand letter from me. Armand contacted me and came to my house on 12/12/2022 to look at the issues. He said he would give me a call in a few days to take care of all the issues. One month passed, never heard from Armand again. I tried to call Armand to find out what was going on. His phone would not accept phone call or text. I thought to myself, just like father, like son, lack of sense of responsibility. I was about to file a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board. Then Armand called me on 1/20/2023 to schedule to come to fix all the problems/issues that his son, Dan and James Dowell had left behind. On 2/14/2023, Armand and his crew have finally completed this long-drawn project; 7 months after the initial start of the project. Today I change the Yelp review from 1 star to 3 stars because of Armand's effort to make things right for his son. Nevertheless; I have wasted so much time and effort to pursue this matter that was really unnecessary if Dan and James Dowell had been more responsible for resolving this matter in the first place. read more

We had a large, 30 year old deck needing replacement. Armand & Dan did the job. It wasn't the cheapest bid we got, but the deck is beautiful! I absolutely love it! Pros: the work is solid. They showed up (well, at least ONE person!) everyday until the job was done. Cons: took about 3 times as long as promised & started a month late. Now that I know how they operate, I would plan the timing differently, but I would not hesitate to hire them again or recommend them. Expensive, but quality work. read more

My first and last impressions of Dan Frumenti and his crew were exactly the same...reliable, trustworthy, straight-forward. In search of options for replacing our 25+ year-old wood deck, I enlisted the trusted opinion of professionals in the field, soon coming to the option of TREX vs wood. I found Frumenti and Sons on the TREX website. Dan responded quickly to my inquiry and scheduled a home visit and estimate within a day or two. He was on time, respectful of my property, patient and thorough in educating me about TREX, and delivered an estimate for the job the next day. Contractual details of work timeline, payment schedule, and obligations of contractor and home owner were clear and unencumbered. In order to accommodate my desire to have the work done as soon as possible, Dan was able to revise the original start date to meet my needs and, in spite of some inhospitable weather, the job was finished on time as promised. I am particularly grateful for the professionalism and ease of communicating with the work crew, Daniel and Ian. As the project progressed over a three-week period, all of my concerns were met with understanding and reassurance. A problem of aesthetics at the end was rectified to my full satisfaction and I can honestly say that this has been one of the smoothest and most stress-free home improvement projects that I have ever engaged in. Frumenti and Sons are the best !! Not only have they done a great job, but they took care of the "Little Things". They do the work that you would do if you did the job yourself. For example: they back filled the gap between the old retaining wall and the new one, they painted the new fence, they cleaned up the saw shavings on the pool cover and moved the deck furniture back. Depending on how many projects you have done, you know these are not the normal way contractors do things. They are "old School" when it comes to Customer service and detail. We were looking to have our existing deck enlarged. My wife went on Angie's list and we received the names of 3 contractors. We contacted 2 of them and received bids. Extremely high. I looked on the Trex website for their approved contractors and came across Frumenti & Sons. I called them up and the son of the founder of the company came out and was very knowledgeable and responsive. He gave me a bid that was less than 1/2 of the other bids. Mind you I thought the other bids were outlandish but I know you get what you pay for in most instances. We signed a contract and set a date. They showed up when they said they would. The crew was professional, friendly and very hard working. Discussions regarding changes were handled without complaint and taken care of. The job was finished on time and we were even credited $1000 because they were able to use part of the underlying existing framing. We love our deck and would highly recommend Frumenti & Sons to take care of your decking needs. read more
